- As well as your normal travelling attire the following essential gear will be required:
- Walking boots.
- Comfortable trainers/runners.
- Comfortable and breathable outdoor clothing, including shorts, swimwear, trekking trousers, fleece and hat.
- Gaiters & walking poles (personal choice but recommended).
- Cycling shorts.
- Good quality waterproof jacket and trousers (preferably breathable).
- Day-pack/rucksack, water bottle.
- Sunscreen and insect repellent.
- Medication – ensure that you inform your guide of any medical conditions or special dietary requirements. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know so we can make every effort to accommodate you.
- While there are no restrictions on size of bag or number of bags, we ask you please consider what you pack. Bring the essentials and enough for you to enjoy the trip but do not over pack. As a guide we recommend you keep your baggage to one standard size suitcase and one carry on suitcase.

James definitely made the entire tour amazing. I can’t say enough how grateful I am to have taken this tour. Everything from the 5 star hotels to the Cliffs of Mohr was nothing less than breathtaking. Being a 300lbs guy I definitely wasn’t in the best physical shape. I definitely didn’t feel left out or guilty for slowing down the tour. I was able to get an electric bike that allowed me to keep up the group and made my trip more enjoyable. I would 100% recommend anyone who is going to Ireland to definitely book a tour with James and Beyond the Glass Tours. Thank you James for a trip of a life time!

Awesome trip and perfect for our group of six! James was very flexible and adjusted to the weather and our location requests.
We did a combination of biking and hiking to wonderful places along the Wild Atlantic Way.
James was knowledgeable, accommodating and calm which made our travels easy going with spectacular scenery...but most of all fun!

If experiencing the best of irelands Wild Atlantic Way is on your bucket list, James Foley and Beyond The Glass Adventure Tour is the way to go . James has perfected adventure travel. He knows where to go to provide some great outdoor hiking and biking experiences, that end with wonderful local food and are topped off with small unique nighttime accommodations that don’t disappoint. I will look to organize another trip sometime soon!

We had an incredible time off the beaten path in Ireland with James! It was stress-free and exciting to be along for the ride traveling through beautiful landscapes, mountains, and farms. James was extremely knowledgeable and personable. Highly recommend!

Amazing trip from start to finish. James' engaging tour combined with spectacular views led to an amazing week in Ireland. We were pointed towards amazing local food options at every point in the journey, and the mix of biking/hiking/driving was great. Thank you James!

This tour was the best way to see Ireland! James planned an amazing trip through the countryside of Southwestern Ireland on the Wild Atlantic Way. He made this trip super enjoyable for my family because everything was planned with much thought and consideration about the best way to see authentic Irish culture. He chose the best restaurants, B&Bs, and excursions for us to experience every day! I highly recommend this trip for anyone that is looking to experience true Ireland with a perfect mix of popular destinations and those that are “beyond the glass”.

Our family of five just returned from the 6 day Adventurer Tour on the Wild Atlantic Way. James couldn't have been a better tour guide. He's thoughtful, well organized, well read on the customs, history and people of the area, and, above all, fun to be around! We cycled and hiked our way through some spectacular areas of Ireland. And, he chose wonderful accommodations for us as well as great restaurant recommendations. We'd like to go again next month!

James made this vacation an incredible experience for me and my family. He was able to lead our group and keep everyone's preferences in mind with each activity. The week was very seamless since James planned all of the logistics - our only job was to enjoy the activities, take in the breathtaking views, and indulge in some local food & drink. For anyone looking to experience the Wild Atlantic Way in an active way without much required planning I would highly recommend Beyond the Glass Tours.

Hi - I am turning 60 in January, and really want to go on this adventure in May or June. My hubby thinks it it too much adventure. Are the hikes, walks, bike outings strenuous? Can you be in good shape or do you have to be in great shape? Thank you, Katie

Hi - my fellow travelers and I were all 63, all female. I considered myself to be in okay shape. We reserved pedal assist bikes which were a big help. The hikes and rides were challenging - I could have prepared better - I should have hit the treadmill on an incline for a month or so leading up to the trip! I personally brought up the rear on all the hikes and the rides - but heck someone has to be at the end! It was very doable. The views are spectacular and what a way to see it all - very happy to have taken this trip and challenged myself a bit.
