Great Fun on Great Atlantic Adventure!
I had a wonderful time on the Great Atlantic Adventure zest tour. Our driver/guide, David was kind and personable, and I felt safe with him behind the wheel. He explained much of the history of Ireland, and helped us find yummy dinner spots and good craic! He also was extremely helpful in providing an alternative (Westport House) when some fellow travelers were not up for the physical demands of hiking Croagh Patrick. The itinerary was fairly fast-paced, and places we toured were magnificent! A good variety of sites, with beautiful views from place to place.

    An incredible week!
I had an incredible week on the Overland Great Atlantic Adventure tour! I went as a solo traveller in my 20s and, despite being nervous at first as the rest of the group were all travelling in pairs, had the best experience I could’ve asked for. We all had a great time together - I found the tour perfect for couples, family, friends and solo travellers alike. Our tour guide David was amazing, very kind, friendly and knowledgeable and went out of his way to make sure the tour worked for everyone. If you join an Overland tour, you’ll be lucky to have David as your guide, he’s the best! All of the B&Bs/hotels were of great quality with breakfast included every day. The van is very comfortable and has plenty of space for a small group, much better than a huge coach full of 60 people (in my opinion). There was a fair bit of driving but never so much that it was uncomfortable, we had lots of stops when needed. The places we visited and activities were all incredible. The only slight negative I have is that sometimes there were activities on the itinerary that we simply didn’t have time for - e.g. a 2.5 hour hike at the cliffs of moher, and with so much packed in you really don’t get much time to see some places. For example, we arrived in Westport around 7:30pm and left before 9am the next morning, but I think that is the nature of all tours with finite timing. At least I know the places I’d like to revisit and spend more time at in future! My highlights of the trip were kayaking in Dingle (I absolutely loved Dingle in general and am very glad we had 2 nights there) as well as climbing Croagh Patrick on our last day! The climb was tough but I would definitely recommend it if you’re able - an amazing experience. All in all I’m so glad I booked this trip and truly had the time of my life, I would definitely recommend Overland!

A perfect was to enjoy a fabulous country
We just completed the six day tour, but we did it as a private tour. Overland Ireland was fabulous to work with. They communicated quickly and with the details and specifics we needed to first plan the trip and then be equipped with the specifics needed as travel began. They were very flexible when we suggested modifications and incredibly knowledgeable about where to visit and stay and view, beyond typical tourist spots. Mike, our guide was tremendous. First, he absolutely knows so much about his country- history, language, culture and a million stories. He added special side trips like a sheep farm that just made the whole trip even more special. He was prompt, prepared and very helpful and the car was comfortable. We laughed and learned for six full days. Thank you to Liz and Mike, you made the trip memorable

Awesome trip...well planned by Overland! Ireland is a beautiful country. The accommodations were fantastic. Using the Paddy was very easy to follow from one tourist attraction to another.

    Outstanding, personalized tour!
We had a great experience on the 7 day, ‘Emerald Explorer’ tour with Mark as our driver/guide (days 1-5), along with Breda (days 6-7). We saw and learned so much about many aspects of the beautiful country, people, language and history. Every detail of our tour was carefully and thoughtfully organized. We were busy each day with stops along the way to visit multiple sites of historic or geographic significance — with down time in the late afternoons/evenings to explore on our own. We often chose to grab a pint, or share a meal with our traveling companions, all of whom we now consider friends. Behind the scenes, the office staff (Leah and Cathy) were helpful, responsive and reassuring, answering pre-travel questions via email. “Go raibh míle maith agat,” Overland Ireland!

A trip of a lifetime, go while you can get out and explore.
My husband and I celebrated our June birthdays in Ireland, the weather was amazing and scenery so beautiful. We went for 15 days and stayed in 7 locations, 2 nights per place. Not having to pack up everyday was a great idea. We went to Dublin, Belfast, Sligo, Galway, Killarney, Wexford and Kilkenny, drive over 3000kms and walk on an average 20000 steps daily. We searched for many lighthouses which brought us to many other interesting sites. I could write all day, some must sees are the giants causeway, the cliffs of Moher, the Cliffs of Kerry, the many beautiful beaches. Remember if you are renting a standard shift. The roads in places are very narrow and you are shifting with left hand, can be challenging the first couple days.😊 The People are extremely friendly.

Unique and memorable experience with Pat
The Good: - Local tour guide Pat O'Mara made this an exceptional experience. He is knowledgeable, witty (dry humour), flexible, genuine, and a great all-around human being. Ask him about meeting Seamus. - Activities were flexible. People on the tour could do different activities at the same time depending on interests and abilities. For example, in Westport, some of us shopped and explored the town, some hiked the shorter/lower trails of Croagh Patrick, and some went for the summit. - Small group meant we could make friends with our tour group buddies! Pat was adept at helping all the personalities meld, from the quiet small-town Canadians to the big New York personalities. - The bus was roomy and comfortable. Small enough to traverse little roads and stop at off-the-beaten-track attractions. - Overland Tours themselves were flexible and accommodating as well. When booking the tour, flight schedules were such that we had to arrive in Ireland a few hours after the tour started. Overland was understanding and reassured us that meeting up with the tour group later was not an unusual request. (Actually finding the group/guide was a different story, see below) The Bad: - Zilch. The just OK: - Some of the accommodations were just alright in terms of how comfortable the beds were. Otherwise though the B&Bs that we stayed at were cute and very friendly. - For those with modified schedules (e.g. arriving late), it would have been helpful to have more communication re: our modified start time from Overland. We ended up contacting Overland via emergency channels when we realized the night before our arrival in Ireland that we didn't know who our tour guide was or where exactly to meet them. It all worked out in the end, however.

    Amazing Experience
I had a blast on the 7-day tour of Ireland! It was like a whirlwind adventure filled with amazing spots. We kicked things off in Cashel, where the Rock of Cashel gave us a taste of Irish history and stunning views. Blarney Castle was a blast - I kissed the Blarney Stone! Dingle was all colors and good vibes. Kilarney National Park was a refreshing escape into nature. And the Cliffs of Moher? Wow, what a view! The Aran Islands were a step back in time, and Galway had the best music and food. But the real MVP was our guide, Pat O'Mara. He made the history and stories come alive, and his friendly vibe made the trip extra special. This tour is an absolute must if you want to see the real Ireland with an amazing guide. Don't miss out!

Really enjoyed our time in Ireland and our experience with Overland Tours contributed to that. A big shout out to Eion our guide on the 7 day emerald explorer. Without a doubt Eion put the icing on the cake with his demeanor and great info on his beautiful country.

Outstanding Travel with Overland Ireland Tour
Outstanding! The Overland Ireland Great Atlantic Adventure (small group) tour was just as advertised but even better than expected. Our guide Pat O'mara was exceptional. Pat paid attention to all the details, small and large, and made sure all participants were informed, comfortable with their activities and safe whether we were together or doing individual activities. Pat shared his vast knowledge about Ireland, the history and sights, including some lesser known places of interest to visit. Pat's sense of humor added to our fun and helped to create a sense of camaraderie. Aside from general history, Pat provided specifics about each place we visited and suggested restaurants and pubs for various types of music and Irish Set Dancing. Lodging was walking distance from all major activities/sights. Our tour was comprised of 14 people of various ages from as young as 10 up to people in their late 70s. You could choose which activities were best suited for you or opt for down time. We went primarily south and west in Ireland and stayed in small guest houses or lodges with a few hotels - breakfast was included at all properties. Places visited included but are not limited to: Rock of Cashel, Blarney Castle and gardens, Kinsale Walking Tour with local guide; Kenmare; Killarney National Park, bike ride though the park including stops at Muckross House and walk to Torc Waterfwall; Dingle, sea kayaking, Slea Head drive, Coumeenoole Beach, Blasket Island Visitor Center, Dunmore Head Hike, Clogher Beach, Gallarus Oratory; Conors Pass, Sheepdog herding demonstration, River Shannon Ferry, Cliffs of Moher hike; drive through parts of Burren National Park; Galway walking tour with local guide; Aran Island ferry to Inishmore -local bus tour or guided bike ride to various parts of the island, walk/hike to Dun Aonghasa Fort; drive through Connemara Mountains, photo stop at the Killary Fjord; Westport, time in the town and hike nearby Croagh Patrick or some of the trails instead including Murrisk Loop hike/walk. Ask for a tour with Pat when booking! We had a fantastic time and have tremendous memories. Overland Ireland had less active tours and ones to other places in Ireland. I highly recommend the company. Enjoy your travels, we did.

    Life changing experience!
Absolutely the best experience I've ever had. Each day was filled with history and tours of the local communities we visited. I really enjoyed having a small group (16 ppl) who all turned into family after the first day. Our tour guide had deep knowledge of each town and what makes it unique. Overland went above and beyond for me when my luggage was delayed arriving in Ireland. They made calls to the local airport and people they knew to help me. I appreciate their extra effort so much! Bridgette and Jessica are absolutely the best! Sometimes the weather forced us to change plans but every time we were met with an alternate plan quickly so we didn't feel like we missed out on anything due to rain.

Having just completed the 10 day ultimate tour with Overland Ireland, I feel the need to let others know about the truly exceptional experience that it was and that I accredit most of this to our amazing tour guide Finn.
Finn is passionate about his job and it truly shows. He is intelligent, extremely knowledgeable and well versed. He has an ease about him as he guides you through this cultural tour recounting accent history, folklore, and current events. So Much knowledge and true passion for his country shows through.
Finn was fun and funny in a true Irish manor, always willing to share a great story or wee bit of knowledge. He had the ability to connect with each and every person on some level on our 15 person tour.
The tour hit all of the hot spots with some off the beaten path spots thrown in.
Tailoring our tour on a daily basis depending on weather, crowds and feedback form our group was refreshing. Feeling the need to stick to a timeframe but not a stringent schedule made this trip most enjoyable. Finn also had truly great suggestions for restaurants, pubs, and music. We had so many wonderful meals, topnotch food, and excellent live music experiences throughout our trip.
Accommodations were excellent at every stop. Some of the highlights were the Black Cab Tour in Belfast, bike riding on Inis Mor, and kayaking in Dingle Bay! All were amazing experiences!
I can not say enough about Finn and how grateful and lucky I feel to have had him as our tour guide. This is a tour not to be missed.
My heart is full. Thank you Ireland! Thank you Finn!
Go raibh míle maith agat!

Finn, as you said is extremely passionate about this country and that is exactly what we value here at Overland. Thank you so much for this in depth review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your experiences, you bia (food) and the company (arguably one of the most important aspect of our group tours). This tour was above and beyond our expectations! This trip was postponed twice due to Covid lock downs. It was well worth the wait. Our guide, Mark, is so knowledgeable and kept us entertained with his Irish wit. The tours have a max of 15 people, we had 12. It’s so much easier to get around with a smaller group. There is an itinerary but is quite flexible when weather changes. There is flexibility if you decide to just go out on your own versus cycling or kayaking. The accommodations were nice and it was so great to not have to worry about where to stay. My husband got to enjoy the scenery instead of driving and just being able to relax and enjoy the ride. The shuttle van is roomy and has storage space in the rear. Don’t think you could get away with planning this trip at a lower cost versus using Overland. There is no price tag on fun, relaxation and laughing for 10 days straight! We were truly blessed to have Mark as our guide. Thank you Overland Team and we will see you again

Overall it was a great tour highlighting the most beautiful places in Ireland. Great mix of culture, history, and natural beauty! The hotels were all centrally located, so you could easily go for walks from there, and offered great breakfast choices. The tour guide Mark was great and was very accommodating, offering to change things up a bit depending on weather and people’s interests. Would definitely recommend travelling with Overland Ireland!
To improve the tour I would recommend: more time in Belfast & instead of going to Kinsale, stay in Cork so people can visit that town too. On the last day of the tour, drive through Wicklow mountains national park and stop at Powerscourt House and arrive in Dublin at the end of the day instead of 4pm.

I cannot say enough about this experience with Overland. My family and I had such a wonderful time in Ireland and it was made extra special by our wonderful driver and tour guide, Nicholas Murphy. His knowledge of all the towns we visited was amazing!
Nick was so flexible and patient with my grandchildren and made sure fun activities
for them made our memories truly fun! We had a private tour and the transportation was so comfortable. Nick really was a trooper as we had numerous extremely heavy bags and he helped transport them for us to all of the destinations! The choice of
hotels and B&B's was perfect in each destination and we were able to fulfill all our requests for a very active itinerary. Overland and Nick made our memories of Ireland
last a lifetime! Thank you so much! Brenda Hill and family

Another tour company informed us weeks before arrival that they missed our booking had no room for us. Fortunately Overland Ireland 10-day small group tour still had room for us. We did not know what to expect. Would we like the people on the small tour? will we have a tour guide that can engage us for 10days?
To summarize, we had the best 10 days travelling and finished wanting more. The group was diverse and we found new friends by the end. Our guide, Finn, made us feel, as a small group, that the tour was tailored to our wants and needs. He knew how to adjust the day to find us sunshine when we exited the vehicle on rainy days. Finn told stories that brought each place to life. This was a trip my spouse wanted to do and I was apprehensive. By the end of the tour I was loving the Irish culture and its uniqueness.
Would I recommend this tour?
Yes.
Thank you Finn and Overland tours. You created memories and experiences I will cherish and share.

Ireland's beauty is breathtaking and it's history complex and all this was thoroughly enjoyed and learned thanks to our amazing guide, Pat! Our group of 16 quickly bonded with Pat and he led us on a tremendous trip around Ireland's spectacular coastlines. We so enjoyed Pat's knowledge, story-telling, leadership and wit! He masterfully blended the activities and sights with our interests and his recommendations. His ability to read our group, and cater to our interests and energy level ( a few late nights) was most appreciated. Once arrived at a destination, Pat offered restaurant, walks, and entertainment venues for our consideration. Pat took care of all check-ins and tickets required for tours etc and was always accommodating for washroom and food breaks. Our travels and tours, hotels, airport transfers, and everything else in between, organized by Overland Tours made this a most memorable vacation. Thank you again, Pat and we were truly blessed to have you as our guide.

We just had the best travel experience ever when we took the 10 day ultimate tour of Ireland. We could never have visited so many wonderful sites on our own nor would we have known of the “extra stops”. Each day was exciting; the country of Ireland is unmatched in its natural beauty; our new friends from the tour were kind, fun, and charming!! And our tour guide Finn should be eligible for some award!!! His knowledge of Ireland is expansive; his ability to make this the happiest tour ever, and his focus on safety and accommodating each of us make us feel very fortunate that he was our leader. It is without reservation that we would highly recommend this tour!!

This tour was amazing in all ways. Booking was a breeze; communication excellent; description of tour was exact (if anything, it was a whole lot more than what is described); tour guide was a genuine guy who spoke passionately about the many sites we saw. Lots of great information. Nick was flexible to the schedule depending on weather and threw in a few extra stops that quickly became highlights. Nick kept everyone smiling, taught us some Irish, and was kind and patient to answer all questions. I left feeling like I saw it all! Now to come back and revisit! ❤️❤️

I highly recommend Overland Ireland tour company. The tour was well planned for a family reunion of 10 people, with a wide range of ages. We visited all of our required sites but our guide even surprised us with some unexpected stops. The hotels were excellent and food delicious at each stop. The best part was the guide, Connor, who not only showed us the landscape of Ireland, but taught us about the culture, history, and people of Ireland. He is well versed in all respects. He even surprised us with a song and accordion!

We booked with OI two years ago and then Covid shut us down. When Ireland reopened, the staff at Overland did an incredible job of picking up where we left off and creating the best possible tour per our requests of “must see” places. They scheduled all stops and side tours and provided everything we needed. Mark Dalton, our driver and guide, provided insights and background all around the island. His humor and kind regard for others made the trip enjoyable as well as informative. We will use Overland Ireland when we return. Do book with them. You won’t be disappointed.
