Irelands version is a wax museum
The wax museum has many different exhibits you can see from local history to international history. Primary room has many gadgets for the gang to explore and then on to the trail. Teens will been done rapidly slow the pace lol Saw Gay Byrne & Ryan Turbidy not sure they like the late late hosts here lol

    Interactive and Interesting
Admittedly, my friends dragged me into this one. But I very much enjoyed it. It was an interactive museum with very cool exhibits and games. Overall, better than I expected it to be.

    Why?
Just shocked that this place is still in business. As others have said, the best compliment you can give is that some of the wax figures look kind of like people. We only went because a family member read on some list that is was a must-see but we were all left wondering why.

    Rainy day fun
Great venue for a rainy day. Staff were lovely. Tour was fun. Young and old enjoyed it and had a laugh. May not be Madam Tussauds but don't think it's professing to be. Clearly a lot of effort has been put into the exhibits. The horror section, Father Ted and Mrs Brown got a lot of laughs from us.

    A fun diversion
The wax museum different from those in America. They had figures situated in different rooms with different themes. They were surrounding Irish history and pop culture which I liked very much. There was a fantasy section and a horror section that were really cool.

    IT DOESN'T WORTH A PENNY
Do not go there, it is a waste of time and money. Low quality characters and information. THERE ARE A LOT MORE INTERESTING THINGS TO SEE IN DUBLIN!

    Less than expected
A little disappointing. The wax statues are dated and could use updating. The Irish section was fun though. Admission was too high for the attraction.

    Wouldn’t recommend
We were extremely disappointed with our visit to the wax museum after paying €19 each to visit. We were in and out within 30 minutes. The wax figures were not realistic and need updating. The venue itself could do with a re-vamp as it’s very old and outdated.

The National Wax Museum Plus Review
During our visit to Dublin, we went to the wax museum. However, we found the wax figures to be outdated and far from realistic. Online it said that it should take us around an hour to explore the museum, but we were able to complete it within 20 minutes. Although the museum provided a convenient shelter from the cold and rainy weather, we will not be revisiting. I would only recommend this if you need to waste sometime in Dublin.

    Amazing experience!
For me, it’s a small place but a lot of things to see. My favorite is the echanted forest. From star wars, science and discovery, the mirror maze which is really cool, the irish writers, history of Ireland, there is a chamber of horrors too, and a game of thrones statues for those who are a fan of game of thrones. Fantastic place for kids and kids at heart. Worth the visit!

    Not well maintained
The place itself looks very old and not well maintained. Have a lot of wax figures, and a horror area that was the most interesting ( but already old too). Price consider expensive

    Very poor
Most of the items were broken in the historical room. The wax figures were shocking, never seen anything like it. So out of date!!

You queue outside the building to gain entry, so not great in the rain. The 'skip the line' was a joke as they couldn't find my online booking! When I produced the emails of the booking and 5-10 minutes later we got a printed ticket at the desk.

You are asked to get a photo taken against a greenscreen when you enter through the double doors. You go down and upstairs to get to different sections, so its not great if you have any mobility issues. The wax replicas of Jedward, Trump and many of the models weren't very realistic. I know Deadpool has his challenges, but he looked like he could have done with a few christmas dinners to bulk him out! Many of the models were tiny, I mean Michael Collins has to have been taller than most 10 year olds. Tina Turners wig looked like something you would get in a Joke shop. The lighting was bad so selfies werent the best, even with flashlight on.

The ticking clocks all the way down the stairs was nice, as eas the enchanted forest. But the 'house of horrors' is for over 16s only. It had lots of anamatronic models jumping at you. Back up the stairs again, at the end is the shop (very basic) and the desk where you pick up photos, one photo costs €10. Its a glossy A5 size printed out under the desk. There are 10 backdrops to choose from. Our photo was printed off-centre, so most of the photo is of the background.

It was nice to visit as I hadnt been there before, but if a bit more effort was invested in models structure, clean costumes etc. they could make a fortune.

Hi R O Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. Due to Covid-19 restrictions we do have to manage the capacity and flow of visitors throughout the building hence there may be extended wait times. We know it can be annoying to wait in the rain but unfortunately the weather isn't always our friend. In regard to the stairs, we do have a lift that visitors with mobility issues can request to use. We're sorry you felt the wax figures were not very realistic and that the lighting wasn't suitable for selfies. We appreciate your feedback and it will be taken on board. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your visit to Dublin. Kind Regards The Management National Wax Museum Plus

Really enjoyed the Dublin Wax Museum, lots of different wax figures and sets for photo ops, a fantastic chamber of horrors and some interesting Irish historical figures. Would definetely recommend and is a great way to pass some time when in the city. Can't wait to bring more of my family and pick up some more €1 vintage comics in the gift shop!

I went with a friend and we had such a wonderful time. I really can't fault the experience. It starts the moment you enter the building with the customer service from their fantastic staff who I am sure don't receive enough credit.

Unfortunately in these times it lacks the q's and buzz that usually fills the place. On the bright side you basically have the place to yourself!

It's organised into different categories. Wax figures range from famous characters, celebrities and past figures.

Take the time to read the plaques and listen to their audios as it really broadens the experience.

The horror section was something I wasn't even prepared for. It made the experience well worth while, definitely a few unexpected scares along the way.

To round the experience when you think your leaving there's a little surprise to end your tour!

Thanks for having us.

Visited with my mum,
I believe we set the bar too high after visiting wax works in other locations like London, Blackpool we were shocked at how little some off the appreances of the wax works didn't look like the people they were meant to be!
The staff however didn't make the wax works I understand and were lovely on greeting us in and taking payment,
The horror bit did make me jump a little but for 16 euro I think I could off used my money elsewhere as it was over and done with in 15 minutes.
The few models in the Disney shop in the shopping area are worth more to get photos with than some of the ones in this building.
Also I think a great idea is if you had a orange colour paint for the wax hand at the end in the shop as I was going to pay €11 for one and wanted orange white and green for the Irish colours been a tourist i think it would be good to do this

Our opening hours are Monday to Sunday, 10am to 7pm with last admission at 6pm. Priced at nearly €15 euro pp yes it is a little expensive but we really enjoyed our experience. Fun experience for children & adults.
There was a lot of history an so many interesting different areas of the museum you could spend as long as you like in it. The wax figures were very interesting, you had the likes of Liam Neeson, Tina turner, Donald trump, some cartoon characters , famous authors George best ect. You can learn a lot of Irish history, Viking an also local inventors. The haunted chambers part was also very good. Few jumps were had in there, but so much fun. At the end of your tour h there is a gift shop available to pitches merchandise and also an area where you can have fun making your very own wax hand to take home prices are around €10
And children must be 5yrs or over to do this. Staff were lovely and very welcoming and we would definitely return with our children as they would love it!

Our visit to the Wax Museum in Dublin was a unique and enjoyable experience that offered a twist on traditional wax museums. What set this museum apart was its blend of entertainment, education, and a touch of science and technology.

Inside, we encountered a diverse array of wax figurines, some of which were instantly recognizable celebrities, while others were intriguing discoveries. Although the realism of the figurines varied, they still provided great photo opportunities and added to the overall fun. The fact that some were animatronic added an exciting element to the visit, making the figures come to life in a way we hadn't expected.

One of the highlights was braving the horror walk, a spine-tingling experience that had me holding onto my boyfriend's hand for dear life. It was genuinely scary but undeniably a lot of fun, and we couldn't help but laugh at our own reactions afterward.

If you happen to have the Go City Pass, as we did, I would definitely recommend including the Wax Museum in your itinerary. It's a delightful blend of entertainment and a touch of the unexpected, making it a worthwhile stop for a unique Dublin experience.

.....and fun for the entire family!
This place is really great and all the figures appear "near-to-real"! There is even a horror section which is great for a bit of a scare.
Lots of cool wax figueres - not just only of historical people, but also characters from famous movies e.g. Harry Potter etc!
There is even one of Michael Jackson.
Though it was a good experience, I doubt if I would go back again in the very near future.

If you’ve got the spare money and you’re looking for a laugh then I’d recommend it but don’t go in expecting it to be on the same level of Madame Tussaud’s. Jedward are thrown in there with Starwars characters and George Best is scarily close to a Teletubbie. The Father Ted room was our highlight and we think they’ve got plans to add more characters from the show. The Irish history section is pretty good too if that’s your thing. Overall we we left feeling like it was a bit overpriced considering there are other attractions in Dublin within the same price bracket that are far better value for money.

Visited here on my recent trip to Dublin just to try get out the rain and find an indoor activity and was pleasantly surprised. My favourite part was the horror section which I’ve never experience before in any other wax museums and I’m a huge horror fan so I really throughly enjoyed that part (would maybe be slightly scary if you were to go with very young kids). They had a range of things from celebrities to film characters to people from Irish history, all of which was really good. My only criticism was that it wasn’t long enough, I could’ve easily enjoyed another couple of sections in it, however the stuff that is there is all very good and enjoyable. Highly recommend for families, groups of friends or couples too.

Lovely place with plenty to see. Wax figures were very well done and also showed the history of Ireland and our great celebrities both at home and across the world. Went with someone who is visually impaired and they were very obliging allowing her to gently touch the face so her experience was special too. Sound effects also brilliant and the house of horrors was a bit of fun. Plenty to laugh about too, thanks Mrs Brown-so hilarious! Thank you Paul our tour guide who is from France. So friendly and helpful to us, even taking photos.
