Tour was a perfect combination of information, humour, tasting, and group and tour guide interaction - all done in a nice time frame, not too long, not too short.
Our tour guide was Molly, she was amazing, very engaging, knowledgeable and funny. She had the group interact with the room in a non pressured way, was very light, short and funny, exactly what you need to ease you into a tour. Loved her way of telling the Jameson story, made it very interesting.
The tasting section was done very well and serious value for money. You'll get 3 full shots of different whiskeys followed by a free drink at the end with either ginger ale or soda water, more than making your money back on the ticket.
Thoroughly recommend the tour, its a little over half an hour, you learn quite a bit, and plenty of drinks at it which will leave you feeling buzzed afterwards to enjoy the rest of your day.
Special thanks to Molly as I wouldnt normally do distillery or brewery tours but this was the best Ive done so far, thanks to how engaging she was

I'm from Dublin, but never went to Bow street before. The Bow Street Experience is reasonably priced at €25 for a drink in the bar, tour and tasting. Cillian the tour guide had a mostly Irish audience, and was bombastic and confident in his abilities (despite giggles at same). It made for an entertaining tour of about 40 minutes. The multimedia aspects were excellent. The days of the two dimensional tour are dead. This was an immersive experience in the world of Jameson. Sight, sound, smell and taste were all utilitised. The history wasn't laboured, the science of distilling was sensually engaging, and the tasting versus other large volume brands on the market was exceptionally clever and actually insightful (which had the participants turning their nose up at a well known peated scotch and an equally well known raw American whiskey). I would recommend. Looking forward to returning in future to try another of the variety of tours on offer.

Never before in my years of drinking whiskey have I ever had such an experience. The building has been meticulously restored to provide a modern space for visitors to feel comforting whilst retaining the charm and history of the building since its construction.
Kayleigh our host was very knowledgeable, friendly, witty and charming in equal measure. The tour provided me with an insight into the distillation and manufacture of Jameson whiskies and explained in depth how they accomplish the balance of flavours and body.
The entire hour flew by leaving me with a thirst for more. I can highly recommend this tour to novices and whiskey aficionados alike. Where else can you get 4 excellent whiskies for €30 in Dublin. Don’t deliberate just go!!

Our guide, Katie, was absolutely phenomenal in her delivery and her clear love for whiskey. I had literally never had whiskey before this tour (and subsequent cask draw), and the way she slowly introduced us to the whole process, the components, the history, and the collaboration won me over. I actually enjoyed the whiskey during the tasting and then the cask draw (which I sincerely recommend). This was so much fun, and I am so grateful we did it! My husband even did his own bottling from the cask to take home, and we can’t wait to relive the experience through it! Thank you, Katie!!

We had a long day having arrived in Dublin that day and thought we would pop in to the Jameson Distillery to see if they had any room on a late tour. We didn't catch her name but the person who helped us was lovely. It was just under 2 hours until the next tour which was too short of a time to do something else but too long of a time to wait, especially because our phones had little charge left which we needed to navigating! Helpfully, she offered to charge it for us (above and beyond!) and suggested we use our drinks voucher whilst we waited - which we did. it was a lovely atmosphere and the time flew by.
We then were greeted by our guide, Erin. She was clearly mad but hilarious and make the whole experience a lot more enjoyable (especially for me as a non whiskey drinker and was simply there for my boyfriend). Erin knew her stuff about the Jameson history, the whiskey, and made it very engaging. She spoke to everyone individually and make the experience a lot more personable. At the end of the tour she even provided recommendations for where to go for dinner.
Definitely worth a visit!

We really liked the guide's telling of the history of the Distillery and of course the tasting even if I'm not a whiskey fan. The tour itself was only about 30 minutes long and we thought costly for a two-room 'tour'. The items in the Gift Shop were the same cost as at any shop where you would find a bottle of whiskey and souvenirs.
We went here from the Hop-on-Hop off tour. Those guides were not helpful at all in locating the Distillery as they just said, "walk that way". The Distillery is tucked around the corner in behind other buildings and signage is lacking.

Our last day in Ireland we saved the big two for last, Guinness & Jameson. We went on the general tour of Bow St. and learned about the history of John Jameson and his company which was rather neat. Got to try 3 jameson whiskeys (original, black barrel, and crest) Our guide was really fun and interactive and made the tour a grand time. But the kicker was we paid a little extra and were treated to a 19 year straight out of the cask whiskey. A bottle of this retails around €320 which is a little rich for my taste, but this was a very unique experience to truly taste the difference between a regular Jameson, and a much, much higher quality Jameson. Couldn't leave without getting the distillery exclusive bottle of Jameson while we were there either!

This should be No1 to do in Dublin. We mistakenly wasted our time doing the Guinness tour, which i hasten to add was self guided.
Jameson was brilliant! Not only were we able to attend earlier than our ticket time (subject to availability), they have a great bar area, where you can buy cocktails that work best with Jameson. If you are early you can redeem your ticket for a free drink at the bar.
When the tour began, we were introduced to Niall, who was superb - talked us through the history of Jameson, the ingredients, right through to bottling and transporting. It was really fascinating! Not to mention the huge communities that helped create and support the Jameson distillery and all the different jobs they did! They also have a funky smart table projection to show you maps, crests and useful photos throughout Niall's talk - which added context too! We then went through to a great room where you can smell, see and feel (not all due to pandemic measures) some of the ingredients which is great.
You then go through to the tasting room, which felt really fancy, really nice lighting, and all the drinks were labelled. Niall then talked about each sample, and the differences within them, and each time guided everyone through correctly drinking whiskey. At that point they are happy to take questions, and at no point did it feel pressured.
I honestly loved this tour, this is a tour on alcohol done the right way. I cannot recommend this tour enough, and I suggest not bothering with Guinness.
DO BOTHER with Jameson! :-)

This was an excellent tour of Jameson's old distillery. There is no longer distilling taking place on site, but that doesn't take away from the experience. The exhibition has had a lot of investment and really came to life with Dermot's exceptional tour of the whiskey distilling process - with lots of props and interaction. You also get 3 different whiskeys to try and compare - definitely worth a visit! I would go to this over Guiness storehouse every day of the week!

Is there an age limit for the travelers?
There was to the best of my knowledge no age restriction. However, my daughter was required to prove she was legally old enough to drink alcohol before she was permitted to take part in the tasting part of the tour.
Hope this helps you

Our tour was a gift from my local bar through the Liquor Sales group for Jameson. However, if you go to the site and choose by a ticket for the Experience tour, it shows €18 for seniors and Starting at €17 for the public. The key is when you go. If it is the the morning, you can get the 17 rate. If you want to go in the afternoon, the rate goes to 22 for adults, but the senior rate is 18 throughout the day.
Hi can you arrive at anytime for a tour?

There is specific times for the tours. But we did not pre-book a tour. We just showed up and got on the next available “bow st experience tour” which happened to be starting in 5 minutes. We might have just gotten lucky though, so if you do know the approximate time you want to go, maybe pre-book your tour online.

We did the Bow Street Tour which explains the distilling process and children were allowed on this tour at a reduced rate - obviously they are not allowed to taste the product, but they can watch, see, smell and feel the grains and the process. Other tours are available but I don’t know whether children are allowed to participate.
By the way, we thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and I am now a whiskey convert!
