We had an amazing experience with Heather and learned so much about the food scene in Dublin as well as learned about the history and culture of the city. She also gave us great recommendations for around Dublin and for other cities we are visiting on our trip! Can’t say enough good things about Heather, she was very genuine and we are so glad we got to meet her! - 145annemarieh0 contributionsTerrific!I enjoyed the entire experience. I loved the Irish Coffee. It is the best I have ever had. The scones were fabulous as was the ice cream and the stews. Ketty is a terrific guide.Written 7 October 2022
- Reviews_by_Lee0 contributionsNot Impressed1st let me say that Ketty was a very interesting person and very knowledgeable. The reason i have only rated this 2 stars is that for the cost of $75 USD we had been treated to very little in the way of foods. The stop for Irish stew was great as we got to sample more than a thimble full of something. That was nice. the other places with the other exception of the oysters where many people opted not to try them was also good. The rest was simply not worth the amount of money the tour cost per person. I would not be able to recommend this tour to anyone unfortunately.Written 2 August 2019
- RobinUSA0 contributionsExcellentI enjoyed going around visiting different places...coffee, fresh bakery, cheese, lunch, ice cream, whiskey. I had the best hot chocolate at #Vice. A raspberry scone at #camerinos, #boxty we tried 3 different stews and 2 breads along with a choice of beer...or in my case cider, #best ice cream at #mirphys, cheese sampling at #sheridanscheesemongers, our last stop at #celticwhiskeyshop...Ketty help me see a different side of Dublin.Written 15 November 2018
- Karen E0 contributionsYou must do this tour!I do a walking tour in every city I visit. This is one of the best. - jnand201420170 contributionsHistory of Ireland through foodWhat a great way to spend a morning -- learning about the history of this beautiful country through its surprisingly diverse cuisine. Ketty's knowledge was impressive, meeting local food entrepreneurs was fascinating, and the food was, of course, wonderful. Highly recommended!Written 19 August 2018
- Bridget K0 contributionsFantastic Tour! This tour was a wonderful experience. Ketty loves food and Dublin and that was obvious from this tour. She brought us to places we would never have found on our own, several of which we made sure to go back to before we left Dublin. She was informed, informative, opinionated in the best way, and a joy to spend part of the day with. All of the places we went made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to share their products and knowledge with us. Highly recommend!Written 23 July 2018
- Maggie K0 contributionsSo soKetty was super knowledgeable and pleasant. I really enjoyed spending the day learning about the history of Irish food with her. But... I’ve taken about a dozen food tours all over the world, and this one was underwhelming. The tastings chosen were not that interesting (coffee, scone, 2 cheeses, ice cream). The 2 stops I liked were the selection of stews and the market. (If you’re in Dublin on a Saturday, go to the Temple Bar food market on your own for lunch. It would be fun to sample several dishes.) Except the stews, there was nothing particularly unique to Ireland and nothing that I hadn’t tried before. This was the first tour I had experienced that lack of surprise. Overall I enjoyed the day, but I had hoped to discover something new that I might not have tried on my own.Written 22 July 2018
- EKM10100 contributionsWorth itThis was a lovely way to spend 3 hours in the heart of Dublin. Ketty was knowledgeable and engaging. The food stops were memorable—places we made a pint to return to. Best of all we met some really great people from England, Ireland, France , and the US. I recommend it.Written 22 July 2018

We couldn’t decide which tour to go on and our hotel(Trinity City ) recommended this one. We were not disappointed
Sinead is a wonderful guide - a real ray of sunshine. She is passionate and knowledgeable about Ireland and Irish food and drink. She also added so much history to the narrative so we really understood so much more of the history of the place.
She took us to five artisan restaurants and bars no big corporations and each place was proud of what they produced.
From the fresh scones and homemade jam
To the Irish lamb stew beef with stout and pork stews everything was made to a high standard.
Artisan cheeses made in cork and brown bread and sea salt icecream.
There was plenty of everything and if someone didn’t eat one of the choices there was usually an alternative, especially in the wig wam bar.
Interesting, fun and tasty what could be better
Would highly recommend

Maeve is a warm, friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, who explained the history of Ireland through food and how food options and preparation has changed over time. We ate at quaint little spots and the food was delish. We had freshly baked scones with Irish butter and homemade jam, which was the delightful. We were shown how Irish coffee is made. We were given three small portions of various Irish stews with homemade bread, which were very tasty. We had Murphys ice cream made using ingredients from locals and delicious cheese from a local cheese shop. It was a great sampling of various Irish foods. Maeve did a nice job providing details of each location and food about to be sampled prior to entering. A pleasant time was had by all.

Lisa was amazing. She is an expert in Gastronomy and that showed through! She really explained so much of Irish food history, and her enthusiasm for food and drink was so inspiring. We all felt that the mix of food and drinks was just right, we certainly were full and I’d recommend to anyone!

I did spend a long evaluating on how to rate this experience and what to write in my review… What you will get is a reasonable priced experience (based on food market prices in town) and tons of information. The whole tour is a well rehearsed and „well oiled machine“. You have five stops at different locations. Three of them are really good. One was a stifling basement of a pub with some rather average food samples, but when you want to use the loo… you open the door and you think to yourself „right, no , I got to hold it…“ The rest of the tour „you gotta hold it!“. The ultimative turn off was the last stop. You get handed two pieces of cheese on the sidewalk between the chairs and tables of a different shop and a construction site. We did not even go inside the shop itself… and that is where it all got stuck with this negative touch in my head. The good parts fade away and all I remember now is the smelly pub and eating cheese at a construction side, while „holding it“. I am sorry that my review is not thrilling, but it does represent my experience and my impressions. Good luck making better experiences, and maybe its time to give the tour a update?

I’m sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. We take great pride in the fantastic feedback we receive daily, and I personally strive to ensure every guest has an enjoyable time. From your photos, I recognise that I led the tour that day, and I would have really appreciated hearing your feedback in person, as it gives me the opportunity to address any concerns immediately. As a small business owner working closely with amazing independent businesses, it’s disheartening that the essence of the experience didn’t resonate with you.
We don’t actually visit a pub on the tour but a well-established restaurant. Regarding the bathroom situation, it’s possible it was in use before staff could attend to it, but in my experience, the facilities are usually kept in good condition, and I use them regularly without issue.
As for the cheese shop, we stay outside due to the small size of the premises, which I always explain during the tour, inviting guests to step inside afterward if they wish. Unfortunately, the construction work on the street is beyond my control, but I understand how it might affect the experience.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and I hope your future experiences are more enjoyable.

Booked this tour after seeing it recommended in a Time Out guide to Dublin. Great way to spend a morning, exploring the streets of Dublin with our guide Lisa and stopping off at five different independent cafes/restaurants. The tastings were fabulous, ranging from homemade scones in Tang, through a selection of Irish stews in a Temple Bar pub, to a local cheesemongers. The highlight was definitely the Irish coffee from Vice - a quirky venue that produced a sensational tasting experience. I'd recommend this tour as a good way to start a week or a long weekend in the city - you can then revisit all the locations and other suggested venues at your leisure.

I loved this tour! We went to several places and got to taste local Irish cuisine. Our tour guide talked a lot about the history of food in Ireland and also a bit of history of the city. The places we ate were purposely local, non-chain restaurants that source their food locally, as much as possible. From what I remember, we had scones, Irish coffee, Irish stew, cheese, and ice cream. The ice cream was so good that I returned later in the day for another serving. If you like to buy local, go with this food tour!

Lisa was our tour guide. As we have found on various food tours (this was our third tour) our guide was extremely well versed and academically prepared. The tour included 5 stops. Each one was an excellent choice. It is an awesome way to get acquainted with a city and while trying various cuisines you also get to take a long walk.

We love to start every trip to a foreign city with a food tour. This did not disappoint. Our tour guide Heather was fantastic. The perfect combination of wit and knowledge of food and the history of Dublin. Each of the 5 stops were amazing. The best scone I have ever had for sure was on this tour. Each establishment was so welcoming. Our guide clearly had a great relationship with all of the places we stopped. Heather also was a wealth of knowledge for places to eat for the remainder of our trip not only in Dublin but throughout Ireland. It was so enjoyable and I would highly recommend to anyone to begin your stay in Dublin with this tour as it involved places on both sides of the river and gave a good understanding of how wonderfully walkable a city Dublin really is. Don't miss this tour.

My first activity in any new major city is to sign up for a walking food tour. It’s a great way to learn the city, hear the history and find unique and guaranteed fantastic food spots in an otherwise crowded space. Our Tour Guide Lisa led us on a spectacular food tour of Dublin and we got way more than we expected. I highly recommend this tour and our knowledgeable, thoughtful, contagious tour guide, Lisa!

We did this tour the morning after we arrived and couldn't have been happier. Sinead was funny, sweet, and extremely knowledgeable and gave us a tantalizing peek into the Irish and Dublin food scene both past and present. She also was full of interesting tidbits about all things Dublin (best shopping tips!) Her tour was enjoyed by the entire range of people in our group from young to old, novice to expert. Highly recommend!

I’m sure you can, at one stop I purchased a bottle of water without asking. At another stop I purchased a cocktail since I don’t like beer, and there were no issues. I would recommend contacting her to let her know your allergy. She might be able to make accommodations in advance, or even let you know if this wouldn’t be the right tour for you.
