- sheena L00Amazing Alan!A real highlight of our trip to Dublin! This was in no small part due to the amazing Alan! His knowledge of the exhibits and and of the musicians they pertained to was excellent and he shared this with enthusiasm and personal stories that really brought it to life. Thank you Alan!. Was great to see young musicians coming in and out to the recording studios too. I would heartily recommend a visit.
- kathrynr43600Fabulous experience. Amazing guide!Amazing experience! We had a fabulous tour from our tour guide Alan, he is extremely knowledgeable about all of the memorabilia and he is clearly a true music fan. I learned so much about Irish music history. Thank you so much this has been the highlight from our trip in Dublin
- BeatrizM386200Please don't miss this place!!!So, how to say this... WOW. WORT. EVERY. SECOND. Visiting the Irish Rock Museum was one of the only three mandatory stops we had planned on our roadtrip to Ireland. And thank god we did! The way Irish people preserve and enhance their culture is so rich and full of passion we couldn't help but falling in love with their culture and historic background even more. And all this, through music! Alan was by far the best guide in a museum we haver had, giving us the best experience only by is natural passion for Irish music. Coming to Ireland without visiting this museum is like drinking Irish Coffee without Whiskey. Their culture is so connected to their music, no wonder why they have chosen a music instrument as a national symbol. Please visit. You will mot regret. Thank you Irish Museum for this amazing experience and thank you Alan for the unique way you put your soul into this project. We would give a thousand star review if we could. ♡
- ChrisL701700Magnificent!We had a great time at the museum. Alan was a fantastic guide and provided some nice personal anecdotes and experiences he’s had with many of the artists the museum pays ode to. He left us a wanting more!
- P9358BCchristophert00Absolutely go!!This is a must for any rock fan. Our tour guide Glen was fantastic. I learned a tremendous amount and as a result I have a number of both new bands to check out and old ones to revisit. Please go, you will not be disappointed. Plus, if you play music you might find yourself jamming with Glen as I did!
- eileenk86700A Learning ExperienceThe tour was amazing-I never knew how much the Irish influenced worldwide rock and roll. Christina was great, answering a yand all questions. I highly recommend this tour.
- Kim F00What a great experience! What a great experience so worth the time and money. Scott was a great guide and made the experience all the better well done fella! More than happy to recommend this to anyone thinking of going!
- Bradley W00Love music? MUST EXPERIENCE THIS!Like music…. You’ll love this experience! Alan gave a superb tour and it was a must see if you care at all about music. Alan said “It’s not where the music starts, it’s the place that it finds.” I can’t communicate how emotionally engaging this will be if you appreciate Sinead, Bono, Phil, or any Irish musician. Cannot recommend more highly!
- Natboov6400Beautiful experienceWonderful experience, very interesting tour ... Alan is a wonderful guide, fascinating and very funny !!!! Thank you Alan for a great time, You're the best guide !!!
- J1812KBnatalies00Get on Alan’s tour group if you can!Alan gave our tour and he was great! He had lots of stories and was great with the history of Irish rock and roll! It was longer than we thought it would be, 2+hours, but really enjoyed it.
- flygirlelaine00Must do !!!What a great take !! So much to see and experience !!! If you are a musician, a music buff or just like listening to music this experience will amaze you ! The amount of music history & memorabilia is fantastic ! The real gem was Alan our tour guide. He possesses so much knowledge, his passion for music & musicians it incredible!!! Don’t miss this 🎼
- Holly H00A must seeAlan took us on the tour. He was the highlight, as well as, all of the bands that have recorded and preformed. A must see for those who love rock n’ roll history and want to learn more about Irelands contribution.
- Li G00Unique and irreplaceable experienceAlan is the best tour guide I’ve ever seen in my life. His Dublin identity makes the tour unique and irreplaceable. In other museums in the world, they simply tell you the same thing in a distant fashion, but Alan tells you about his passion in an intimate way.
- juliepX7523PT00Great experienceThis was our first trip to Ireland & the Irish Rock 'N' Roll Museum Experience made for a great afternoon out. I wouldn't normally book a guided tour as I've found they can be impersonal, stiffly scripted, often unnecessary, and I usually prefer to explore places on my own terms. However, I'm not sure we would have had such a good experience had it not been for our tour guide, Alan. From the moment we stepped through the doors he made us feel welcome & at ease. He made sure to let us know that this was our tour and at any point we could stop to absorb our surroundings, take pictures & ask questions. Not only was Alan knowledgeable about music and the history of his surroundings but he also brought humour and emotion. He had a willingness to connect & shared some of his own experiences which we appreciated greatly.
- Inspire51073400A real Irish Rock 'N' Roll experienceThis tour is highly recommendable! You deeply dive into the history of Irish Rock music. Our group was really international and everybody had a great time. Our host (Scott) was a highly entertaining and welcoming guy who provided us with lots of background Information (like Michael Jackson's Connecticut to Ireland) and showed us the importance of music in Ireland's culture and its power to connect with other people. We even had a quick jam session during the tour (see photo). Thanks again! :) The time passed too fast. 6 out of 5 stars. Absolutely fantastic!

I've been there last week as a huge U2 fan and Irish Music lover. Bryan was an amazing Tour Guide and thanks to him, I learned lots of things about the historical importance of that place and all the extraordinary memorabilia inside! Dublin plays a central role for the Music all around the world and I didn't know.
Highly recommended!!!
The iconic front wall deserves a permanent picture of beloved Dolores O' Riordan from The Cranberries, a unique voice who helped to export Ireland everywhere in the World. Lots of fans and more tourists are coming over to visit this stunning Museum....we can't wait to see her smile shines forever on the wall!!!
Many thanks Irish Rock Museum, i'll be back very soon!

My husband and I came across the museum by chance and were gutted it was sold out for the Saturday - so we instantly booked for the 10.30 tour on Sunday morning instead. On arrival our guide Alan was great- making sure to learn everyone’s names and where they were from. The tour was really interactive with a great mix of insightful stories, audio visual bits and also a chance for one of the group to play live with another musician. Overall it was a real highlight of our trip and we were just gutted that it ended- had it been a self tour we would have spent hours just looking at each bit of memorabilia and records. Even if you aren’t as bit rock fans as we are there really was something for everyone and Alan was a fantastic part of the show!

We had an excellent guide named Alan. He told us engaging stories about various performers and expanded our knowledge of not only the musicians but also the recording process. This man has music in his soul. A highlight for me was the analog mixing board, one of four in the world. I'm checking the box for "Family (teens)" because it's the closest description. We were a small school trip from the U.S. with 9 teenage boys. Alan was able to interest them in music that only a couple of them were familiar with.

We took a tour during a short 4 day stay in Dublin and the last spot we visited was the Rock'n' Roll Museum. It was a fantastic tour through Irish music history. Our host Alan made it an unforgetable experience by his knowledge and his attitude. Even the group was quite big, ~14 person, he memorised all names and home countries! And for a tour of bit more that 2 hours the price was more than reasonable! A big thumbs up

Visited Dublin from the Midlands in the UK, booked on a 10.30 tour on the 14th September. We we greeted by Alan, a bubbly friendly Irish tour guide. I think he says he does acting part time, but he had a love and a passion for his job and rock 'n' roll music and his love for his home city of Dublin.
Alan kept our tour engaged to the point where my partner joked and said ''I don't like him, he's funnier than me!''
The information was easy and conversational with humour and Irish charm, this meant we learnt a lot from our tour.
The Irish museum, we would return again just to see Alan! He was amazing and really made the tour!
The music videos and playlist as party of the tour was quite mixed and eclectic variety of Irish born music, including boybands, folk, rock 'n' roll, pop, soul, this was very well made and also given a spotify gift card to enjoy and take the music experience home.
The displays and recording studio were well laid out and had an authentic homely feel with a lot of history explained behind why each artefact came to be restored there.
I highly recommend the combo deal with the National Wax Museum when purchasing your ticket, also a very good attraction, but I saved £10 off per person.
Would return again, thankyou Alan and the team!

My eyes got wider and wider as the tour went on. Genuinely an amazing experience but the tour was truly made the best by our amazing guide, Alan. He knows everything there is to know about the history of the building, boards, musicians and more and was the most personable guy I’ve met in a while. An artist himself, he effortlessly materializes the interesting vibes that have been created throughout the years in that place. Cool to see him work and wish I could hang with him in Dublin on the reg!
The 72 track analog recording board in Sun Studios (also part of the tour) was one of the aspects I found most interesting. Alan even let me play a bit with the instruments that have been held in the hands of some of the greats before we visited that area. My hands actually turned gold a little bit. Can’t tell you how much I was impressed overall and hope to return on another trip to the Temple Bar area!

I highly recommend the Irish Rock N Roll Museum Experience to any music fan costing Dublin! It was such a unique experience that was very rich in culture and history. I can say it was easily one of my favorite tours in Ireland! It was all thanks to my fantastic, enthusiastic, educated, and engaging guide Alan! Alan has a vast knowledge of music, and shares his love with all his guests! He is funny and makes you feel so involved as he invites his guests to participate in activities! If you do this tour make sure you request for Alan! He will give you one tour you can’t forget. Thank you Alan for an awesome evening full of music and laughs!

I had a nice and pleasant day at the Irish Rock'N Roll Museum! Our tour guide, Alan, was wonderful, kind and friendly. He gave us an interesting and well-informed account of the history of Irish rock. He always punctuated his explanations with enjoyable pieces of trivia, witty remarks, funny anecdotes and personalised interactions and comments with all members of the group, which made everyone feel welcome. The short video we were shown during the tour was an interesting addition, which offered new perspectives on the topic.
As for possible points of improvement, I think it would have been good to have seen the guitars of Rory Gallagher which were not on display today. I also think we could have spent maybe a little more time looking at the different objects, instruments, guitars and albums that were on display across the museum and learning a bit about their individual histories and inner lives, such as when they were used and in what venues.
Overall, this was a delightful and fun experience, which I will remember fondly! I would recommend this museum to anyone interested in discovering the rich legacy of Irish musical culture and its variegated international influences. Our guide Alan closed the tour with a meaningful, moving and thoughtful reflection on the power of music to connect people from different backgrounds who nonetheless share a common passion, emotion(s) or experience(s) related to music. Music shows us everything we share as humans beings, and this museum is an excellent reminder of this important lesson--though some of us may be "a million miles away"...

Hi
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your tour with Alan and will be sure to pass on your compliments. We are working to bring the Rory Gallagher guitars back to the museum. Currently they are on loan to another exhibition abroad which they had been promised to pre-pandemic by the Gallagher family. We have only recently reopened post lockdown and are constantly working to improve the experience based on customer feedback. If you took any photos of your visit we'd love for you to share them with us online.

Led by rock music expert Glenn Hughes as museum guide, this was one of the finest museum tours I have been on in Dublin. Really Glen's enthusiasm, deep, sincere love and expertise on Irish rock was amazing. We were treated to a tour of Temple Lane Rehearsal studios, used by U2, Thin Lizzy, Sinead O'Connor and the legendary Rory Gallagher... And more. The true treat was the great amount of memorabilia from Phil Lynott, the immortal bassist/singer/ songwriter of Thin Lizzy. A must-see. Also the tour was offered a chance to jam on the guitars, drums and use the amps in the rehearsal room used by U2. By chance, several people on the tour were musicians and our instant blues jam in the studio was called one of the best impromptu museum tourist performances ever heard by the guide. What a sound. Highlight of my trip to Dublin!! Glen hung around for over 30 minutes after our tour to chat and answer questions. So good, we forgot to do Glen. :(

Brian, our tour guide made this the most fun tour we had all week! His humor and knowledge of rock and roll made the whole tour entertaining and enlightening. Once he found we were from Oklahoma he serenaded us between rooms with songs from the musical. It was hilarious and fun! I didn’t realize how many bands were Irish, now I need to go listen to some Thin Lizzy! This tour includes real recording studios and a live stage and you get to bang on the drums! Good times!
