About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 685maxinee0 contributionsDublin made easyWe chose the 48 hour option. First we rode the bus for the whole route to get an overview of the city and how we should arrange our visit. Gareth, our first driver, was wonderful! He added a lot of color to the trip, and trivia we didn't get on the recorded tour on later buses. Stops were convenient to the sites we wanted to explore, and all the drivers and helpers by the Stops had helpful information.Written 14 March 2025
- Kerry B0 contributionsExcellent, Glad we chose this companyEasy to use and runs every half hour from the stops. We had three drivers today and every one was entertaining and excellent at their job, chatty and knowledgeable. We’ve paid the little extra for the 48 hour ticket and great value for money. Get a map! So helpful around the city.Written 11 March 2025
- J1931INbeths0 contributionsNana’s 80th Birthday trip!!!!Our 2 drivers Wayne and Johnny Mac were great! Both were very personable, entertaining and great guides/knowledgeable. We had a blast!!!Written 11 March 2025
- nanabird510 contributionsJust do it 😁Absolutely brilliant. The tour was informative and fun. Our driver Paddy made it unforgettable !! He had us in stitches from the moment we got on till getting off. We could have quite happily gone round again. Give it a go you won,t be disappointedWritten 11 March 2025
- elainegW741SM0 contributionsVery convenient bus and hilarious bus driversThis bus was great! The bus driver should be a comedian. I know I were a crazy hat and bright colors, but he was making fun of me but it was hilarious and it made others laugh too. Great bus ride and fun.Written 9 March 2025
- brunor1480 contributionsDoDublin is a scamWe wait for 45min in the “Spencer Hotel” DoDublin bus stop, bought our tickets there and that bus stop literally is a scam doesn’t exist in the map but there’s Dublin bus decided to scam costumers. Another scam from the Dublin bus like the amount of money the drivers take people when paying in cash. Welcome to Dublin!Written 9 March 2025
- H1374QKmartinah0 contributionsGreat Day OutHighly recommend this for an amazing tour of all the Dublin highlights. Our guide, Gareth, was the best. He made the tour so special. We didn't ever wait more than 10 mins for a bus to by and thestops were so convenient to all the attractions!Written 9 March 2025
- Navigate7946680 contributionsGreat way to see and learn about DublinI loved taking the hop on hop off tour through Dublin! It was a good way to learn more history about the city and its landmarks. The drivers were all kind and informative too. It was also so helpful as it took you to do many attractions through the city and could cut out some walking time. Definitely recommend!Written 8 March 2025
- denisesage80 contributionsJust great fun !!This tour was really good , our tour guide Gareth Lawless was so much fun and really made the experience memorable with his singing, knowledge and good humour . Would recommend it as great way to explore the city.Written 6 March 2025

- 1111allenf0 contributionsDo Dublin a definite! We had paid for the Do Dublin hop on hop off bus tour. What we got was brilliant we started early (driver Paul) was really good, knowledgeable, funny and a good driver around the busy streets. We completed the full trip to learn what-stops we wanted to get off later to investigate and visit. We had two other drivers on our later trips. Really a good way to see the sites of Dublin. Highly recommend!Written 5 March 2025
- miranda2840 contributionsHop on hop offLoved this tour. We had 3 different drivers. Ray was one, he was good. However, our last driver Cam was absolutely amazing and made the ride itself worth it. And he was very informative of what stops were proper, and gave us a little back story. He was absolutely amazing.Written 1 March 2025
- Santabrenna0 contributionsSee lots of Dublin in a couple of hours - recommendA great flexible way to see a lot of Dublin in a couple of hours. I hopped on to Wayne's bus (great commentary, informative and funny) and then hopped off for a stop. the next bus I got was without the live commentary and not so good I thought but still interesting. Would definitely recommend.Written 28 February 2025

Highly recommend taking the tour during the evening rather than daytime - for some spookier vibes! Trip guide Edgar was brilliant, who’s stories were incredible to listen to and who engaged with the audience in numerous ways. There is also chance to win some prizes on board. Tour had 2 different stops where we went outside, both were graveyards with creepy backstories. The welcome to the bus is also interesting, but I wont spoil this one :)

Had an amazing time! It was so fun we didn't even notice the two hours go by! Our driver Francis kept us safe on the road and on our toes when reentering the bus and our guide Regan gave us good insights into the darker history of Dublin while occasionally making us laugh and interacting with almost anyone on the bus to keep us invested. My friends and I had a great time with them and would definitely recommend the tour to anyone visiting Dublin and looking for a little thrill while learning about the cities darker history aspects!

Excellent way to break up your day after an afternoon of visiting the pubs.
The host was very entertaining and informative and got everyone involved. This is my third time on the Ghost Bus and recommend to anyone wanting to do something a little bit different on their Dublin trip.

I hate to leave negative reviews but this really was a waste of 70 euros. I’ve done ghost tours in York and Edinburgh and they have been so much fun so had high hopes for this.
The most thrilling part was joining the bus, which is decorated like a haunted house. It went downhill from there.
You cannot see out of the bus windows at all, in fact twice when we pulled up to places we were told to ‘use our imagination’ as to what we were supposed to be looking at. You could literally see nothing.
The ghost stories were boring, the lady running the tour was pulling out bits of plastic tat from a bag and then turned all the lights out on the bus and ran up and down shrieking and grabbing at people.
We went to a graveyard with no gravestones and stood around for 20 minutes while people took turns to get in and out of a coffin prop. When we got back on the bus the tour lady began another boring story, turned the lights of again and ran to the back of the bus where we were sitting. The next thing I knew I had a face full of water which was thrown at me as she ran past. She said ‘Oh some of you got a bit more than others there!’ You’re not kidding. My glasses were covered, my hair was wet, I had water dripping from my nose and I was worried that it would damage my hearing aid. We had one more stop, in a church, then back to the bus. We couldn’t wait for it to end so we could go home. There were no other actors taking part, it was boring, I basically paid 70 euros to be water boarded. Please, save your money and do something else.

After waiting 40 mins for the bus not knowing whether we were in the right location, only taking comfort from there being another 10-15 people equally clueless as to what was going on around us, and despite having called the tour office ourselves and having been told to continue waiting for the bus, a crew member who was among us all along eventually told us the bus had broken down and the tour was cancelled.
We were told that we were welcome to go to their office to get a refund or reschedule if we wanted to.
Inside the office we met the completely unsympathetic staff who looked at us as though we were bothering them and offended that we were unhappy at the situation and their lack of any kind of backup plan, particularly for those of us who had planned their day around this tour and paid for taxis to get there.
Very unreliable, unprofessional and disorganised

Hi,
I hope you're doing well. I'm sorry to hear about your negative experience in Dublin. However, it seems this may be a mix-up, as this is not the correct tour. We don’t have a public office in the city center.
Kind regards,
Jess

Hi what a shame- it was raining - I unfortunately am travel sick and the bus was contained with curtains which made it very airless.. It was a scary ride and great entertainment but I would add that to draw up outside a place to look through rainy windows and not to be able to see out anything was a mighty shame and total waste of time. It would have been better for them to stop and show us the building and then get back on the bus. When we did get out and walk to a couple of graveyards this was a lot better. It was an interesting ride. When you look at the bus you would think you would have seen out of the windows but no they have thick red curtains. No view of the outside world. Entertainer/story teller was enthusiastic and knew her stuff. Just telling how I found it - the younger people loved it ...

Thanks for the positive points and thank you for your feedback, we are sorry to hear that you were travel sick. We have the red curtains on board our bus to make the tour a theatrical experience. We will try to make it more clear on the website to highlight for other customers that may be travel sick.
We are glad to hear that the storyteller added to your experience with us!
Best wishes,

Recommended for 4-12yrs. Nicholas was a terrific guide. We stopped at some places of historical and haunted repute. He talked through early origins of surgery in Ireland for example and kept the group of kids and parents together with masterful ease. We had a great time!

we’ve just got back from the 9-30 ghost bud tour and wanted to write a quick review while the evening still fresh in our minds as it was both an usual and excellent experience for me and family. Edgar the tour guide was outstanding, his mix of knowledge and comedy, history and the macabre made for an informative and brilliantly fun couple of hours round some creepy and historically rich sites of Dublin. The bus itself was done out and made good use of every inch, with jump scares being order of the day / and catching us out every time. The time flew by and whet our appetite to see more of dublin’s historical underbelly. loved every minute of it.

After a tiring day exploring Dublin we boarded the eye-catching Ghost Tour bus as low on energy as our iPhones. The tour guide Nicholas had his work cut out with an audience all a bit grisly and unenthused. With sheer determination, wry wit and engagingly creepy yarns about the dark side of Dublin he won over the entire bus. Great craic 10/10 (or indeed 5/5). Recommended!

Are there bathroom facilities on the bus?
Written 12 July 2019
There were no toilets on the bus, however a load of people went off to the toilet at a bar at the first stop
Written 13 July 2019
They stop twice for two short tours; Dublin Castle and St Kevin's Church. There is very little walking involved and you can always stay on the bus if you don't want to do them. If you have mobility issues I would give the Dublin Castle tour a miss (the first stop) as it's the longer of the two tours and there are stairs involved in going down beneath the castle. The St Kevin's tour is short and flat. Hope this helps.

Are you permitted to bring on your own booze?
Written 15 October 2018
There is no bar on the bus.
Possibly people had their own supply but I never saw any evidence of it.
We had dinner first ( with wine ) and after the bus trip we went to a cocktail bar for one or two drinks.
Then walked back to our AirBnB and had a bottle of wine ....so no need of alcohol on the tour.
It’s great fun for a couple of hours. Actually the best thing we did in Dublin....and we did lots.

What if I have no access to a printer?
Written 2 August 2018
The bus requires you to have a printed ticket to board. If you don't have a printer you should be able to go directly to the tour office and acquired your tickets there before boarding the bus. Just go early.

Is the tour available in Summer when it is still daylight at 8pm? is it worth going?
Written 21 April 2018
THE ghost tour is a series of stories and they stop at sites related to stories. The windows are curtained so you can not see out..Throughout the tour they are talking...They do not want you distracted...
