Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- C6354JJdanielh0 contributionsAmazing time at the CliffsPatrick our tour guide was incredible. Brought the whole tour to life. Bus was comfortable with music and plenty of bathroom breaks.Written 5 December 2024

- JackBurton3000 contributionsUnsafe driver, unresponsive company. The first day of our tour went as expected and as advertised. Our driver Dave was pleasant and professional and we had a nice time. However, day two was the worst tour we have ever experienced. It felt unsafe and was not as advertised. It started at 7:10am when we checked into the warm Cork office 10 minutes before scheduled pickup time. We were directed outside to stand near the empty shuttle bus. We waited for over 25 minutes standing in cold 38 degree Fahrenheit/ 3 degrees Celsius weather. We then got into the cold shuttle bus where we needed to wear gloves and hats on the bus to stay warm. We stopped in Limerick only for paid restrooms and there was no chance to see the City (only 19 minutes total time including walking across street and up stairs). We barely had time to use the restroom or get water or coffee/tea. Based on the posted itinerary, we expected some brief time to see the city. We then drove past St. John’s castle. We had no chance to stop or take pictures and were unable to really see castle from the bus. Based on the posted itinerary, this seems very misleading as we did not really get to see the site. All this time and through the trip, the driver, Brian did not seem to know how to drive a manual transmission vehicle. He stalled out on our journey. However, that did not stop him from driving over the posted speed limit and driving very aggressively throughout our journey. He even joked that he was going to “drive the shuttle like he stole it”. This was our biggest concern- safety. He was actually pulled over by the police for speeding on the way to the Cliffs of Moher and I could hear the police officer said that multiple cars complained of the tour bus illegally overtaking them as he was speeding, which I can confirm happened. Brian also ran over speed bumps at full speed through multiple towns and created a very uncomfortable / bumpy drive. My sister and I both felt sick driving with Brian and neither of us is prone to motion sickness. Needless to say, this was awful as we traveled multiple hours with him. The Police Officer continued to follow the tour bus for 10 minutes as I believe he was concerned for the passengers safety. We did not stop at Doolin for lunch, as was advertised on the posted itinerary. We went straight to the Cliffs of Moher for one hour and 30 minutes. After the Cliffs, we went to a Cafeteria style restaurant for lunch with limited options. The staff there was friendly, which was good because for the next two hours and 25 minutes we waited there and back at the Cliffs of Moher visitor center ( almost four hours in total). We did not go to Bunratty castle as advertised. Instead another Driver, Shay, took us to another Driver, Richard, for our return trip. Shay was very nice and apologetic. Richard was also very nice and a good driver. The rest of our trip was uneventful, as we made our way back to Dublin. Needless to say, this was a very negative experience and not what we expected from such a reputable and well reviewed company. I contacted PaddyWagon multiple times with my concerns, but they did not even respond. Would not recommend.Written 2 December 2024

- 231arw0 contributionsBeautiful Cliffs, Freezing Cold Bus!The best part of the tour was the Cliffs of Moher. We got very lucky and had a very clear view on the day we were there. However, there were other aspects of the tour that were frustrating. Every stop felt rushed. If I'd had more time, I would've done an overnight trip to the west coast. I would also have reversed the route we took. We got to Galway around 10am and had to leave by 11:30am. Most of the shops were closed, and the Christmas Market that the tour guide told us about did not open until 12:00pm. If we'd gone to the Cliffs first, we could've enjoyed Galway more in the afternoon when more of the shops and restaurants were open. Also, we didn't stop to eat until nearly 3:30pm, and we only had 40 minutes, which felt very rushed. Luckily, I had packed some snacks and gotten a coffee in Galway. I would recommend bringing snacks, and/or purchasing food in the morning that you can eat on the bus. The bus was freezing! It was a very cold day, and the driver did not turn on the heat. We asked him to, and it seemed like he did for a few minutes, but then turned it off again. There were 6 of us on the mini-bus, and we were all shivering even with our coats, etc. It was nice to meet and chat with fellow travelers. The Cliffs of Moher are definitely worth a visit, but it may also be worth looking at other tour companies.Written 21 November 2024
- W4046RAaliciar0 contributionsBeautiful half dayIt was amazing!!! Alex, our driver, gave us some history on the way there and we loved it since we could understand more of the place we were visiting. He also walked a bit with us to show us the way to the lakes and waterfalls. It was the perfect half day tour, since we saw a bit of the outside of the city but without loosing a whole day. Even though it rained, the walk was still absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed it so much!!!!!!! We’ll definitely recommend it to anyone we know if they come to Dublin for a few days. Thank you Alex!Written 20 November 2024

Richard was hilarious and a fun driver/guide to have. Upon boarding, we were given the "sneaky pint" option. This is where you cut your tour time by an hour so the whole bus can go to a pub for a pint. We were traveling at a time where the winds could knock you down thanks to Storm Jorge. Everyone decides on a sneaky pint. Richard gave our 6 year old the privalage to seranade the bus. He really made the trip memorable for her! We continued our way to the Rock of Cashel where Richard gave us an amazing photo opportunity right on the roadside. We had about 30 minutes to enjoy the Rock and the views. We continued to Cork where we were guided directly into the English Market straight to O'Flynns Gourmet Sausage to get a Cork Boi (highly suggested!). We then continued our way up to Blarney to see the Blarney Castle and watch others get the gift of Gab. Blarney Woollen Mills has a lot of items, but Richard suggested the clearance room upstairs and all the way to the Southside of the building. Just be careful, some of these items are damaged. If you are a fiber artist, there is yarn for sale just under the stairs near the kids section (AMAZING prices too!) Then we all got on the bus to head towards the sneaky pint at Kavanaugh's in Naas Ireland. This is where the sneaky pint got sneakier, we could only spend 25 minutes because at 30, the GPS would log the location on the bus. Still, we were able to enjoy a pint and get food to eat before heading back to Dublin. Richard always had fun music playing and some old music videos going. He was very attentive to the personalities on the bus and even had fun poking at a single lady at the front.
The tour overall was great, but I think a you with a guide and a driver is better. This ensures your safety and the driver is also able to have his much earned break times between stops.

Dear Tiffanyj421,
Thank you for taking the time to leave this kind review for your driver, Richard.
I'm sorry to hear that you experienced Storm Jorge on your Blarney tour, great to hear your family enjoyed your time in Cork and the "sneaky pint" (just one drink) at a fantastic local pub in suburban Ireland.
We are very proud of our amazing drivers, who are the most experienced and professional in Ireland - feedback like this matters greatly in keeping the team focused on creating world class experiences for our guests.
Hope to extend a warm Irish welcome to you again in the future!

Overall, I enjoyed my experience on this tour. However, when I first arrived to the meeting location, I didn't appreciate having to walk through the smoke of the driver's cigarette to get checked in. If Rory wants to smoke, that's fine. But it's not professional, and extremely disrespectful, to smoke while greeting passengers.
Also, I didn't like at all how Rory expressed his sincerest vitriol for the Temple Bar district. In fact, he may have said something along the lines of Temple Bar being "the devil," or something akin to that. His issue seemed to be the high prices for beer in the area. Rory must know that tourists like to do touristy things, like take bus tours and go to touristy areas, like Temple Bar. After spending a large amount of money to travel to Ireland, what is a few more dollars for a Guinness in the Temple Bar area? In fact, I was staying in the Temple Bar area at the time due to it's close proximity to the meet up locations for the several bus tours I signed up for months before arriving to Dublin. While I am not a drinker, I loved staying in the Temple Bar area and would stay there in a heartbeat if I returned to the area (which I would love to do). So, I really didn't appreciate Rory's nastiness toward Temple Bar. And his negative comments about Temple Bar, which he made more than once, are hypocritical since he dropped the passengers off in the Temple Bar area once the tour was over. When people travel, we naturally try to save money but sometimes we don't mind paying a little extra to walk around and enjoy a meal or drink in a touristy area.
I also didn't like Rory's timekeeping. When we approached Blarney Castle (which I highly recommend; you don't have to kiss the Blarney Stone to appreciate the amazing gardens on the property), he started our 1-1/2 hours at the location 10 minutes before we got off the bus! What? At least start the time once we park.
I could have easily used another 1/2 hour in Cork. I felt rushed. I was rushed. After parking about 15 minutes away from what seemed to be a popular shopping area in Cork, I wolfed down my lunch, walked around just a bit, and had to rush back to the bus. I understood from listening to Rory that traffic can be an issue and he wanted to head back North before traffic became an issue. Understandable, but I still felt rushed.
I can still recommend this tour. And, aside from the smoke and negative comments about Temple Bar, Rory was still a good tour guide.

The trip started off well and the coach driver/guide was very entertaining and knowleadgible. However, there was little detail given about the itinerary in then advertisment. It was billed as a 6 plus hour trip, but it actually was more than 12 hours. Plus we were sitting on the coach for over 8 hours. We only had an hour and a half in Cork which really wasn't long enough to look around and have lunch. At Blarney castle, where we only had a couple of hours , we sat on the coach in the car park for over an hour waiting for new passengers who had been given the wrong time. Consequently the Rock Of Cashiel was closed by the time we got there and we couldn't go in. Had we known that this was such a long trip and that most of it would be spent on the coach, we wouldn't have booked it. I would like a refund.

The city of Cork was pretty, and the Blarny Castle was amazing, but we wonder if these attractions were worth 12+ hours riding on a bus? Perhaps we just had an unlucky day, but our bus was delayed for almost an hour late in the afternoon waiting for a few new passengers to board for a return trip to Dublin City. Why were 53 people held captive on a warm, stuffy bus just to accommodate these people, who weren't even part of our tour group? The driver (Rory) apologized repeatedly but refused to leave these sorry travelers behind. Because of this delay, we missed our visit to the next attraction, which had closed by the time we arrived. The price for admission to this attraction was included in our tour price, so it should be refunded to us.

So overall the tour was okay, the sites were amazing, and Blarney Castle is a must see for anyone visiting Ireland. The trip started off a little rough as when we arrived at the meeting point (luckily 25 minutes early) we found out that they had sent us and a few other people the wrong address for the meeting point, however, the very helpful staff inside was able to get ahold of the tour and have them come pick us up so we didn’t miss anything. The tour guide was the bus driver, so interaction with everyone was slightly minimum, but he was very nice otherwise. I am sure that some people have an amazing experience with this company, but from personal experiences I would recommend looking into (Finn Mccools Tours) specifically with the tour guide Sean as the trip we did with them to the Cliffs of Moher was very interactive and was the highlight of our entire trip.

We had the MOST amazing time! A group of 8 of us went together, we are all American college students who are living in Dublin for the summer. This was the perfect way to get out of the city and see more of Ireland. The sights were truly unbelievable. What was the most enjoyable to us was our driver/tour guide, Richard. He was so incredibly knowledgeable, and I learned more about Ireland in those few hours than I have in the entirety of my life. His historical stories and personal anecdotes were so funny and genuine, we were engaged the whole trip. He gave great recommendations and tips for what to do at the locations we stopped at and even some great places in Dublin. The beauty and culture of Ireland are undeniable, but I truly think Paddywagon does a great job at making those moments more accessible, memorable, and convenient. We truly had the most amazing time. The trip was WELL worth the price, and I would honestly recommend it to anyone who is looking to get out of the city for a day. If you are on the fence, DO IT. I will never forget what I saw and learned! I cannot wait to do another tour soon!

This was a must see, we did 3 other tours (Cliffs of Moher, Giant's Causeway & Dublin walking tour) on our 10 day trip and this was definitely my favorite. You are free to wander the castles at your own pace with almost no restrictions on where you can go, unlike other castle tours I've done in France or Germany. There is SO MUCH to see at Blarney and the views are just stunning. There was a festival in Cork that caused ridiculous traffic so our guide (Richard) suggested that we just skip it and spend the extra 1.5 hours in Blarney, which everyone on the bus voted to do. I learned that to be honest you could spend the entire day at Blarney and still not see everything, so this was a welcome itinerary change. The trip was made by the guide; Richard was funny, prompt, informative and blunt in the best way. His mix of "craic" (fun) and history created a perfect blend for the tour and we were lucky enough to have him a second time on another tour we did later in the trip! He gave so many tips to save time and money in Ireland, and he was so helpful and came out to meet us at the stop in the morning when we were all clearly unsure of where the bus was. Richard is the best! The timing of everything and the way it was spaced out was perfect. The only negative I would say is that on both trips on the way back to Dublin the WiFi seemed to break, which isn't really a big deal, but if you don't have international service and you need to pull up directions on how to get back from the drop off point, it may be a little stressful, so just prepare with screenshots! Richard can also help point you in the right direction.

Poorly organized. Meeting point was not correct, actually was one block over and the other side of the street. 3 busses arrived for pickup, some people doing a 1 day trip, others doing a 2 day trip. Mass confusion about which bus to get on & which bus was heading to which location. Drivers were unorganized and unprofessional. The stop in Cork seemed like a sales pitch/joint venture to eat at a prechosen restaurant with menus and "order ahead" on the coach through the driver. The time in cork could have better been used at the Blarney Castle. We will not choose Paddywagon for any more tours.

We were warmly greeted by our tour guide Richard (and guide in training Sean!). We were the first tour on a brand new, beautiful bus. The tour left promptly when we were supposed to and stayed that way at all of our stops. Richard and Sean were absolutely awesome. They were fun, informative, helpful and funny! One of the rules on the bus was to not talk while the tour guide was talking. We unfortunately had a group of women who did not stop talking pretty much the whole time which made it hard for other passengers to listen to the stories and history our guides were sharing. Richard tried his hardest to keep them in line to no avail, but his effort was commendable! Our first stop was Rock of Cashel and it was one of my favorite stops of our whole trip. As we were leaving we even got a glimpse of a hound chase, pretty cool! Richard took us to a delicious lunch spot before heading to Blarney since it was raining and he was careful to plan our stops so that we could enjoy places with as much good weather as possible. Blarney castle was beautiful, got to kiss the stone (be ready for a lot of steps up!) and explore the grounds. There was ample time to look around and check everything out. Our next stop was Cork city center. Richard got us as close as he could to the English Market so we could check out everything they had to offer since we did only have about an hour in the city. Richard and Sean gave us some recommendations for dinner upon arrival back in Dublin and even called to reserve a table for us when we found out that the restaurant did not take reservations. On our way back to Dublin we came upon an accident in the road that literally just happened. Richard saw the accident and amazingly avoided the crash as well as a car that did not see the crash and hit one of the cars in the road and flew in front of us. In speaking with Richard and Sean we learned that Sean was a retired Garda officer which we had in common because my husband and our fellow couple’s husband are also law enforcement officers. Once Richard moved the bus to safety Sean and our husband’s jumped to action to make sure everyone involved in the accident was safe. Luckily everyone involved was OK and we were able to return back to Dublin all safe and sound with only a slight delay. Sean even called our restaurant to let them know about the delay so they would still hold our table for us! I can’t say enough good things about this tour, it was really one of the best days on our trip! I would highly recommend this tour and both of our incredible tour guides!

I booked this tour for a group of 10 university students I had in Ireland and Scotland for 10 days. This was our second Paddywagon tour of our trip (we took three with them and one with another company in Scotland) and we didn't think our experience could possibly be as good as our first Paddywagon tour, but it was! Paul was fantastic with our students and the whole bus. He was the perfect blend of humor, information, professionalism, and realism. He really engaged with the whole bus and we learned a lot from him on our great day out. The only recommendation I'd have for this trip to change is to have a little more time in Cork. It was hard for us to get off the bus, get lunch really quickly (at 4pm) and then get back on the bus on time. We managed by just grabbing food at the English Market, but would like to see more of the beautiful city. Overall great day!

Hello,
Can arrangements be made to be picked up at or near our hotel, "Beckett Locke" North Docks in Dublin?

My wife and I would like to get off at Blarney Castle or Cork as our final destination. I read above that this is ok. Main question is: Can we bring our luggage on the bus?

We will be staying in Dublin and need to go to Cork to catch a Viking ship on October 3. Is it possible to take your tour to Cork and leave once we arrive in Cork to catch a taxi to the ship? We will have to small suit cases and a back pack.

Is this a large bus or a smaller van and smaller group?

Typically a large coach bus. My group to the Cliffs was small though, so we were upgraded to the smaller Mercedes bus FOR FREE! Great company.
