This was a must see, we did 3 other tours (Cliffs of Moher, Giant's Causeway & Dublin walking tour) on our 10 day trip and this was definitely my favorite. You are free to wander the castles at your own pace with almost no restrictions on where you can go, unlike other castle tours I've done in France or Germany. There is SO MUCH to see at Blarney and the views are just stunning. There was a festival in Cork that caused ridiculous traffic so our guide (Richard) suggested that we just skip it and spend the extra 1.5 hours in Blarney, which everyone on the bus voted to do. I learned that to be honest you could spend the entire day at Blarney and still not see everything, so this was a welcome itinerary change. The trip was made by the guide; Richard was funny, prompt, informative and blunt in the best way. His mix of "craic" (fun) and history created a perfect blend for the tour and we were lucky enough to have him a second time on another tour we did later in the trip! He gave so many tips to save time and money in Ireland, and he was so helpful and came out to meet us at the stop in the morning when we were all clearly unsure of where the bus was. Richard is the best! The timing of everything and the way it was spaced out was perfect. The only negative I would say is that on both trips on the way back to Dublin the WiFi seemed to break, which isn't really a big deal, but if you don't have international service and you need to pull up directions on how to get back from the drop off point, it may be a little stressful, so just prepare with screenshots! Richard can also help point you in the right direction.

Fabulous experience with Paul. The bus was comfortable (spacious) and we were very lucky that our tour group was quite small (must be good to book on weekdays). Paul was funny, charming, told great stories, and we loved the Irish music he played highlighting famous artists most people know plus artists most don't. He was also very good at splitting quiet time with story time.

The rock of cashel was awesome, and Blarney castle and grounds were unbelievably gorgeous. We didn't have time to eat while there because we wanted to explore, so unfortunately when we got to Cork we spent most of our time at a restaurant to eat a late lunch BUT definitely preferred spending more time at Blarney rather than shopping in downtown Cork.

I do wish the buses (or at least the location where they pick up/drop off) had bathrooms. It was also hard to find the pickup spot for this one because the bus wasn't there when we arrived ten minutes ahead of time, so it was kind of stressful to start.

Overall, would highly recommend this experience (and Paul)! Especially good for those staying in Dublin who want a way to see Blarney.

Highly recommend this tour and tour company for anyone traveling to Ireland. Despite the heavy rain, our driver was incredibly safe on the road, and very informative. The castle was absolutely stunning and we agreed as a group to cut our time a bit in Cork to spend more time at the castle. Even 2.5 hours was not long enough at the castle, there is so much to see. I would even suggest to the tour company to cut the Cork city stop all together and instead extend the time a bit at Rock of Cashel and Blarney. The seats in the coach were roomier than the other tour company we went with for a separate tour, and they also had charging ports for your phone. You stop once on the way there and once on the way back for bathroom/coffee breaks.

So overall the tour was okay, the sites were amazing, and Blarney Castle is a must see for anyone visiting Ireland. The trip started off a little rough as when we arrived at the meeting point (luckily 25 minutes early) we found out that they had sent us and a few other people the wrong address for the meeting point, however, the very helpful staff inside was able to get ahold of the tour and have them come pick us up so we didn’t miss anything. The tour guide was the bus driver, so interaction with everyone was slightly minimum, but he was very nice otherwise. I am sure that some people have an amazing experience with this company, but from personal experiences I would recommend looking into (Finn Mccools Tours) specifically with the tour guide Sean as the trip we did with them to the Cliffs of Moher was very interactive and was the highlight of our entire trip.

Richard was hilarious and a fun driver/guide to have. Upon boarding, we were given the "sneaky pint" option. This is where you cut your tour time by an hour so the whole bus can go to a pub for a pint. We were traveling at a time where the winds could knock you down thanks to Storm Jorge. Everyone decides on a sneaky pint. Richard gave our 6 year old the privalage to seranade the bus. He really made the trip memorable for her! We continued our way to the Rock of Cashel where Richard gave us an amazing photo opportunity right on the roadside. We had about 30 minutes to enjoy the Rock and the views. We continued to Cork where we were guided directly into the English Market straight to O'Flynns Gourmet Sausage to get a Cork Boi (highly suggested!). We then continued our way up to Blarney to see the Blarney Castle and watch others get the gift of Gab. Blarney Woollen Mills has a lot of items, but Richard suggested the clearance room upstairs and all the way to the Southside of the building. Just be careful, some of these items are damaged. If you are a fiber artist, there is yarn for sale just under the stairs near the kids section (AMAZING prices too!) Then we all got on the bus to head towards the sneaky pint at Kavanaugh's in Naas Ireland. This is where the sneaky pint got sneakier, we could only spend 25 minutes because at 30, the GPS would log the location on the bus. Still, we were able to enjoy a pint and get food to eat before heading back to Dublin. Richard always had fun music playing and some old music videos going. He was very attentive to the personalities on the bus and even had fun poking at a single lady at the front.

The tour overall was great, but I think a you with a guide and a driver is better. This ensures your safety and the driver is also able to have his much earned break times between stops.

Dear Tiffanyj421, Thank you for taking the time to leave this kind review for your driver, Richard. I'm sorry to hear that you experienced Storm Jorge on your Blarney tour, great to hear your family enjoyed your time in Cork and the "sneaky pint" (just one drink) at a fantastic local pub in suburban Ireland. We are very proud of our amazing drivers, who are the most experienced and professional in Ireland - feedback like this matters greatly in keeping the team focused on creating world class experiences for our guests. Hope to extend a warm Irish welcome to you again in the future! Warm regards, Erin O'Neill, Director, Guest Relations Paddywagon Tours, Ireland's Leading Tour Operator

I booked this tour for a group of 10 university students I had in Ireland and Scotland for 10 days. This was our second Paddywagon tour of our trip (we took three with them and one with another company in Scotland) and we didn't think our experience could possibly be as good as our first Paddywagon tour, but it was! Paul was fantastic with our students and the whole bus. He was the perfect blend of humor, information, professionalism, and realism. He really engaged with the whole bus and we learned a lot from him on our great day out. The only recommendation I'd have for this trip to change is to have a little more time in Cork. It was hard for us to get off the bus, get lunch really quickly (at 4pm) and then get back on the bus on time. We managed by just grabbing food at the English Market, but would like to see more of the beautiful city. Overall great day!

All locations were nice; the gardens at Blarney are amazing. However, Danny, our driver, was incredible. He did not talk ad nauseum, discuss politics, or share his views on other areas like so many drivers do. He simply shared an overview of the location, provided great insight into historical and mythological tales, and weaved it all together into a tight story. He also provided other areas of interest for people to consider while traveling. Lastly, he provided time for people to just enjoy the ride, with a great Irish playlist going, which made it the most pleasurable trip of the many (10+) we have had in Ireland, UK, and Scotland, in the past month. When you book, make sure Danny is driving!!

Basically, it wasn’t a tour, but just a driving to locations where you are on your own for a given period of time. There was one person who drove the bus and talked at the same time, which I found a little bit not safe. He didn’t have any instructions what to tell, he told us everything that came to his mind, for example about his family or previous work experience, which I found to be inappropriate, we would rather hear about Ireland and it’s history. Speaking about locations: Rock of Cashel good outside, but inside nothing interesting, 45 minute were perfect for that. Cork city - 1.5 hours was enough only to walk through shopping streets, but it doesn’t look like the city where you can find many interesting locations. Blarney Castle- it’s the best of the best. But we had only 2 hours there. I wish we could have 3. To have more time we could depart one hour earlier or make fewer stops during the road. In my opinion having stop each 1.5 hour is too much.

I had an amazing time on this tour. Paul was an amazing tour guide and driver, he kept everyone engaged telling stories, asking questions, answering them, and even singing (which was awesome). He loved talking more about the history of you asked him questions and went out of his way to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves. The bus was big with loads of space with was a huge win, and the group wasn’t to big either. Blarney and Cashel were both amazing as well, exploring the gardens at Blarney was a highlight of the whole trip.

This turned out to be more than just a tour of Rock of Cashel, Cork and Blarney Castle….. which were all great by the way. The best part of this tour was the driver/guide Paul. Besides being informative, he was humorous, relaxed, and also very entertaining singing Irish songs, and giving us a more thorough perspective of the Ireland. We absolutely would recommend this tour and if you’re lucky, you’ll have Paul as your guide!
