What to expect
Meet your guide and group at the Daintree Building on Pleasant's Place, and be properly fitted for a bike and safety equipment. Pedaling through Dublin on a bicycle lets you travel as the locals do, getting to know the city from the ground up without fussing with maps or directions. Simply follow the guide to see some of the off-the-beaten-path sites that ordinary tour buses can't access. Start your tour with a circuit around some of the top landmarks, including Merrion Square, Parnell Square, O'Connell Street, Temple Bar, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin Castle, and College Green. Then head a bit out of the usual tourist loop to see the Blessington Street Basin and the 18th-century Roe's Distillery windmill on the way to the Grand Canal Dock area, part of “the new Dublin.” Along the way, listen to your guide’s commentary on the ancient city's history, culture, and modern iteration.

What a fantastic experience
We enjoyed every minute cycling around Dublin to places of interest with a guide who was so knowledgeable, interesting and with a great sense of humour. We came off the trip after 2 and a half hours with a great understanding of the city and its history. Thank you and we fully recommend this trip.

We enjoyed a relaxed and nice ride through Dublin. The tour gives a welcome overview of the city, so we could decide which places we wanted to see in more detail later. Our guide, Laura, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She helped us understand the basics of the history of the city and imporrtant events that shapes the whole country. The bikes are in good state and the ride is mostly flat. The pickup location is amazingly centric and convenient. It is important to remind, thoug, that this is still a city and riders must coexist with motor drivers. Some basic riding skills are needed.

Thanks to John our fantastic tour guide for a genuinely fascinating insight into Dublin and all of its contents!
While we hadn’t booked a private tour, we ended up being the only 2 people on the tour (might have had something to do with us booking a bicycle tour on a Friday morning in December during minus temperatures…). Our tour went ahead anyway which we were grateful for and meant that we could ask lots of questions about Dublin and the focus of each stop along the way.
As someone who had never been to Dublin before, this was a great way to see the city and hear some of the interesting stories and facts about its history as well as the current environment. We visited various sites including Dublin Castle, the Guinness Distillery all way through to the locations like Google’s Dublin HQ.
A fun and quick way to see the city when you only have a few days to cram it all in! Would certainly recommend whether it be summer or winter!

Terrible . Dublin bikes tour company contacted me 1.5 hrs hours before tour to cancel - some alleged mix up in paperwork ! Reading times incorrectly believing my tour at 10am when it was 2pm. Email from Dublin bikes at 12.30 saying they had no guide available for 2pm tour . Now trying to get a refund from Trip Advisor ... have emailed and asked Dublin hikes to request refund but do far no response from Trip Advisor about refund .. Horrible end to my trip to Dublin and also 65 euros down trying to chase up Trip Advisor . Thank god booked via PayPal so lodged a dispute with resolution centre .
I was offered an alternative tour today from Dublin Bikes but am flying out of Dublin today . Will never ever again book anything via Trip Advisor !! Dublin Bikes cancelling yours at short notice then saying refund via Trip Advisor is not acceptable

The tour provides a good overview of Irish history and Dublin sights. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. However, if you are not used to cycling in big cities with intensive traffic and lack of cycleways, it might be challenging. And the left-hand traffic does not make it easier. Fortunately following the guide helpeda little. So for the less experienced cyclists I would recommend to plan the tour for Sunday as I did

We visited beautiful places and got enough space te ask questions. The tour guide was enthouisastic and had a lot of knowledge. You see most of the hotspots but also some places you wouldn't go to without a guide. Absolutely recommend this!

I'm a big fan of cycling and would have generally thought I knew LOTS about my fair city. I took this tour recently mainly out of curiosity, I wanted to see Dublin as tourists would. It was safe to say I was blown away. I saw parts of Dublin I never knew existed and heard facts and tales that awed me. We cycled along at a lovely pace and Julian adjusted to suit us cyclists, used to a quicker pace. The bikes themselves are also perfectly suited to their purpose and the safety gear was readily made available to me. The tour guide was wonderfully knowledgeable and perhaps most importantly, incredibly personable. I was astounded by sheer amount of Dublin we managed to see in the short space of time and I still came away from every stop armed with a new piece of interesting information to taunt my friends with There was a lovely literary and musical twist at many stops with Julian adding in facts which in hindsight I'm astounded I've failed to see before. Julian brought us for a coffee afterwards which apparently is common place(fantastic idea) and took any questions we had and regaled stories of the city he so obviously has a passion for. I have never given a review on one of the sites before, nor do I think it will become common practice but after such a fantastic tour I felt compelled to and really, truly wish Julian and Sean all the best with this venture.

We're delighted you liked the tour, Nick! We're introducing two new tours shortly: A 'Digest the City', where we'll stop for lunch in the Grand Canal Dock area. And for a longer day out, our 'Southside Spin' through the Victorian suburbs, to a river (the Dodder) and a park, with some nice trees and views along the way.

I've become a big fan of taking bike tours and have done (and reviewed) in several European cities but never my own city of Dublin. So this weekend I corrected that and peddled happily around on a tour with Julian. I suppose I did it out of curiosity, not really expecting to learn much about this city I already know quite well. But I was pleasantly surprised - I discovered new places and interesting things about places I already knew. Nice easy pace, friendly, humorous, chatty and knowledgeable guide - the sun shone and the city looked wonderful! I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend it.

A few weeks ago I brought some visiting friends on the newly established "see Dublin by bike" tour. I was a bit concerned, not being at ultra peak fitness, but thought, what the heck....
We met up with JULIAN
N and Sean ,our guides and they kitted us out to be safe and seen and checked the height of the saddles so we would have a comfy spin. We then headed off on a two and a half hour jaunt around some of the most beautiful and historic parts of Dublin - Dublin castle, st Patrick's park, Guinness store house. Quirky extras included the street where Imelda may grew up and a snack break where Sean dug some energising goodies out of his bag pack, telepathically just as I was feeling peckish. On every chat-stop, I learnt something I never knew before (and I live here!) and the guides were warm and relaxed ang great fun.
I have relatives coming next summer and this is something I'll definitely do with them. Older children right up to 80 year olds would be well able for this trip - we coverered about 9k but didn't feel it at all. Brilliant value and the traffic wasn't a problem at all , so a lot of thought must have gone into the route planning. I'm looking forward to doing this again
