- Harry W0 contributionsDublin Ghost Bus TourFirst time in Ireland. We really enjoyed this ghost tour through Dublin. Our guide Finn was an excellent storyteller and really connected with the group on the bus. It was great getting some of the city's haunted history throughout the two hour journey. Our driver Francis also joined in some of the fun.Written 15 March 2025
- 685maxinee0 contributionsDublin made easyWe chose the 48 hour option. First we rode the bus for the whole route to get an overview of the city and how we should arrange our visit. Gareth, our first driver, was wonderful! He added a lot of color to the trip, and trivia we didn't get on the recorded tour on later buses. Stops were convenient to the sites we wanted to explore, and all the drivers and helpers by the Stops had helpful information.Written 14 March 2025

Another scam from the Dublin bus like the amount of money the drivers take people when paying in cash. Welcome to Dublin!Written 9 March 2025

All of our guides were great. Ritchie was hilarious!
Visited Dublin for the rugby but wanted to see more than the amazing pubs :-)
We purchased our tickets through Groupon which gave us about a €10 discount each. Fantastic value.
Buses were frequent, running about every 20 minutes and we always managed a spot on the top deck.
Would recommend stopping at the Little Museum which is included in your bus ticket price (and is ordinarily €15 entry)

The perfect way to see Dublin and get the low down on what’s what in the city. We did exactly what you advertised and kept hopping on and off to see the sights!
Your drivers were all so brilliant - full of humorous stories and more interesting info than you’d find in any encyclopaedia!! Their knowledge is immense and they enjoy sharing it in such a light hearted fashion. I really can’t recommend these bus tours highly enough (and our ticket got us into some other sights - such as the little museum of Dublin - absolutely free. Win, win!!)

When friends ask us for 1 or 2 highlights regarding our recent trip to Ireland and Scotland, the first response is "Brendan Murphy as a tour guide."
The first few hours of day #1, Brendan asked several questions, discerning our personal preferences, likes, dislikes, interests, background knowledge, etc. Per our feedback, he tweaked the tour daily, catering it to the four of us. He did not just revise it for us as a group; he revised it based on the interests of each individual in the group, so that every day, each individual had a few "bonus sites" based on individual preferences. Because of Brendan, we saw everything on the itinerary, plus bonus sites that he added along the way.
Second, Brendan was extremely flexible. If we said that we wanted to skip a town and spend more time at the next site, he did that. If we wanted to skip lunch or add a snack stop or try a specific "Irish speciality," he accommodated us. He also edited our days, based on crowds, other buses, and weather to maximize our trip.
Third, Brendan balanced warmth and professionalism. He was warm and caring, but did not try to become a BFF. Each day was efficiently spent, yet we never felt hurried or rushed. He gave interesting context and history throughout the tour, without becoming pedantic, arrogant, or excessive. Brendan answered our questions thoroughly yet concisely and noted when he did not know an answer. At the end of each day, he went inside each lodging and confirmed that everything was accurate before leaving; not once did he "leave us at the door."
In short, we thoroughly enjoyed our week in Ireland, and Brendan was the key.

Very disappointing. We waited for a bus for 45 minutes when they advertised service every 15 minutes. It threw our whole day off, and we didn’t use the bus again because we didn’t want to get stuck somewhere again for so long. We spent $70 for two passes and used it for 20 minutes because of this. When we complained, we were basically told , “Too bad.” Not the customer service I was expecting.

Thank you for your feedback.
Unfortunately, due to protests and the government returning to the Dail, the city was full of traffic congestion and road closures. When we experience delays or don't pick up at stops it is due to traffic disruptions or road closures. These are unfortunately out of our control and are something that anyone running transport must contend with. It is unfortunate that you experienced this.
We would love to welcome you back to try it out again as this is not the norm!

Absolutely brilliant value for money. We joined the tour at the start point in O’Connell Street near GPO museum.
Boarding the bus I asked if the live guide was available and was told no it would be a multi linguist commentary however, our fantastic driver Mark Cleary pulled it out of the bag 100% and gave us the most entertaining tour I’ve ever taken on a hop on off bus.
We learnt dozens of facts that I’m fairly certain wouldn’t be included in an automated commentary and we laughed all the way, it was easy to hear the driver even above the noise of the traffic from the seats upstairs and outside.
The bus stops are all within easy reach of all attractions and the service runs frequently - I think last pick up was around 6.00 from Guinness Storehouse.
DoDublin offers 24 hour & 48 hour tickets on our Hop-on Hop-off tour. One child (u15) goes free with each adult ticket and there are discounted rates for Students and Senior Citizens. They also offer Free entry into the Little Museum of Dublin with every ticket
All in all would thoroughly recommend and consider it to be great value for money. One last thing we weren’t aware of was that a combined airport bus transfer ticket and hop on ticket will realise a 5 euro discount so worth checking out the official website before you book to check for all offers.

This was my 3rd time booking the DoDublin hop on, hop off tour and I’ve loved it every single time! We bought the Freedom Pass which gives you 48h of the Hop On/Off tour and 72h of any public transport in Dublin (bus, tram and train - we used all 3!).
It offers great value for money but the jewel in the crown of the ticket is the tour with live commentary by the driver. We did the entire route once (it takes about 1 hour 45 to 2 hours) and our brilliant tour guide was Damien. His commentary was brilliantly entertaining and informative (he was also a fairly decent singer!) and it was one of the highlights of our trip. It really is Dubliners showing you the secrets of Dublin.
I would definitely recommend booking the DoDublin tour if you visit Dublin - plus if you do, you also have access to multiple offers such as free entry to the Little Museum of Dublin.

Highly recommend this, it's a great way to explore the city, gives you ideas for places to go and of course you learn about the history too.
The bus goes to all the areas of interest within Dublin City Centre and I feel the price is extremely fair for what you get.
Particular praise goes to our amazing tour guide, Johnny Mac. He really made the experience memorable with his tales, jokes and warm personality guiding us through. He made us feel really welcome and left a lasting impression.
If you go on this tour - ask for Johnny!

There are several options for the ubiquitous open top city bus tours. My wife and I selected DoDublin based on factors such as positive reviews and pricing. Our tickets were purchased online and we utilized the electronic voucher for boarding which was seamless. The drivers were superb. They were professional, informative and entertaining.
Unfortunately there was an instance where DoDublin really let us down which almost resulted in missing our Kilmainham Gaol tour (which can be a very difficult ticket to get).
We waited at one of the stops (#6) for the first bus of the day. We observed the DoDublin bus approaching from stop #5 but it then turned off the designated route, not to be seen again.
An email enquiry and complaint to DoDublin was responded to with the following:
“Unfortunately, we were only alerted that there was a gas leak up by stop 6 and our services were diverted from this area. We were only made aware of this and in turn could not alert customers.
Due to this factor being outside of our control and our services till operating, and the ticket being activate, we would not be in the position to refund these tickets.”
Regards,
Jack O’Donoghue
Commercial Department
This was odd as the gas leak was reported in the news at 07:41h and almost two hours later at 09:20h as we stood by stop 6, the road was completely fine. In addition, other tour buses as well as over a dozen local buses drove past our stop along Merrion Road without issue. We eventually got a DoDublin bus 30min later.
It is unfortunate that this inconvenience to its customers is apparently of little concern to DoDublin. A gesture of goodwill such as perhaps an extension of the ticket by 4-6 hours would incur no cost to DoDublin. Instead they adopted a stringent company-first position resulting in a much less than satisfied customer.

Hi Russ,
We're sorry that you felt so let down by our decision not to refund your ticket on this occasion. We understand your frustration and annoyance, but we felt this incident was out of our control. We're happy at least that you didn't miss your Kilmainham Gaol tour.
Thanks for the positive points you made about our drivers which is very kind of you considering the circumstances. We hope you enjoyed your trip to Dublin otherwise and that this incident didn't leave too much of a bad impression.
Kind regards

On our last day in Dublin, we had a few hours to spare, so we decided to give the DoDublin bus tour a try after a disappointing experience with another hop-on-hop-off service. What a difference it made!
The tour was fantastic – it offered live commentary that was both informative and engaging, and the route was well-planned, taking us to all the must-see spots. In addition to the tour, the tickets came with several great perks, including discounts and offers at local bars, restaurants, museums, and even a dock tour, which added great value to the experience.
Our driver and guide, Ross, was exceptional. He was incredibly knowledgeable, delivered fascinating insights throughout, and had a wonderful sense of humor. His energy truly brought the tour to life.
I highly recommend this tour as it’s by far the best way to explore Dublin. In my opinion, this is the only hop-on-hop-off tour worth taking. Next time, I’ll definitely be opting for the 48-hour ticket! 😊

It really isn't great as a means of going between specific places in a specific time line. It is a good way to get an overview of the city, look at tourist sites that do not require a reservation, and to hear some local color.

Would it be possible for your company to pick a group of 7 for day trips out of Dublin? Also, are your day trip services available from Dingle (for a group of 7)?
Lastly, does the day trip driver wait in the same victory for us while we do touristy things?

Easiest to buy the tickets online although you can buy them at the bus (I think) and you can catch the bus on O’Connell street outside the Chinese buffet place.
