- Trek112131359950 contributionsExcursão diurna: hill of tara, loughcrew, fore abbeyIt was a lobely experience to share with friends. Jonathan and everyone on the tour were really nice and friendly. Coming back to Dublin center, jonathan sung us some irish songs, which made our day even greater. The irish history and legends kept us interested the whole tour and as we expected the landscapes were breath taking.Written 2 February 2025
- roxanneg6320 contributionsA perfect day!Jonathan was an outstanding guide and we had an incredible time! Just the right amount of bus time vs exploration and the views were incredible. I had a huge smile the entire day and the Irish songs on the bus ride home made my heart so happy. Would absolutely recommend this tour. Jonathan was an incredible host and seemed very connected to the local community around the sites and got us on a private tour of the first castle which was the favorite part of the day for me.Written 1 February 2025
- Pluthb0 contributionsHistory, Charm and FunOur bus tour to Blarney Castle and Cahill with Derek was fantastic! Derek’s knowledge, humor, singing and passion made the trip unforgettable. Blarney Castle was magical—kissing the stone and exploring the beautiful gardens was a dream. Cahill was a hidden gem, full of history and charm. The tour was perfectly organized, with just the right amount of time at each stop. Despite the weather being chilly and windy and drizzling we were still able to do everything. Don’t bother with an umbrella and opt for a rain and wind proof jacket. If you’re considering this tour, don’t hesitate! Derek’s expertise and the stunning destinations make it a must-do. Truly an unforgettable experience!Written 27 January 2025

- cls08010 contributionsGreat tour! The tour was very nice. We loved Cahir castle, Rock of Cashel and Blarney castle. I also liked that tickets and tour guides that were included in the attractions. We enjoyed Cahir castle so much. Rock of Cashel was beautiful and authentic. The tour guide was quite personable. He was very thorough in his history and knowledge. The only advice that I would offer for next time is to slow down a bit on the windy roads with the small van.Written 19 January 2025

Sense of humour, knowledge and fun.We stayed in Dublin for our whole trip and took this day tour to the Valley of the Boyne. It was great to get out of the crush of the city. The sites were amazing. Kevin, our guide/driver was amazing, lots of knowledge and explained during the whole tour. It was a very long tour, came back to Dublin after 13 hours.
The group was very large and we had a double decker bus which was full.
Not the guide/driver responsibly however, the wipes on the bus were jammed and worked more than half way through our trip and suddenly the driver had control over it. The WiFi on the bus was terrible, on and off and most of the time didn’t work and the USB ports didn’t work for us and for most of the bus the the people who sat across from us, it did work for part of the tour and then stopped as well.
As advertised, we were suppose to have WiFi and USB ports working.
Kevin did offer to charge next to him.
The reason I gave this tour 5 star is because of Kevin.

We had a great time on this tour! It makes for a long day, as the bus left just before 7am and we returned to Dublin around 8pm, but it’s worth the long trip. Our driver Derek made it a fun trip with some great anecdotes and history of the areas we visited, and he even sang a few songs along the way! It was rainy and windy most of the day, but the Cliffs of Moher are still a sight to behold. The pub in Doolin was a great stop for lunch, the Burren park is beautiful but can be slippery when wet, and Galway is a city I wish I could have spent more time in. There was even a Christmas market during our visit with many local artisans and food vendors. Thanks again Derek!

Awesome day at the Cliffs of Moher! The bus was quite full! But otherwise, the tour was lovely! Stephen was our amazing driver and tour guide! Such great humour! Very knowledgable and really amazing in what he do! We would recommend him as a tour guide! On a side note, we didnt had enough time to for lunch. I would recommend they give the menu to the guests/tourists prior arrival to the restaurant pub so the kitchen can get the food ready prior to guests arrival. I'd say in that way, the guests/tourists will still be able to enjoy their lovely lunch in the trip without being so rushed! That's all! otherwise a great trip after all! Lucky we got the weather xx

On October 25, 2024 we took this tour. Anticipating the driver/guide to be forthcoming as a guide should, we were greatly disappointed. As soon as the bus departed Dublin, the driver/guide did not introduce himself nor did we hear any insightful commentaries nor anecdotes about the region - as is highlighted on your site. Complete silence from him. Made for a very boring bus ride to the sites and back to Dublin. However, our self guided tours of the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren and Galway City are breathtaking and are highly recommend sites to visit.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the breathtaking sites and we’re sorry the commentary fell short of expectations. Our guides are typically praised for their insightful and engaging storytelling, so it’s disappointing to learn this wasn’t your experience. We’ll be addressing this to ensure future tours meet our usual high standards. We appreciate your input and hope you’ll give us another chance to provide a better-guided experience in the future!

The number 1 reason why I chose this tour provider is that they offer children rates and having to pay almost full price for an onfant is really not worth it. So this was the only one offering no fee for infants. Now I do have a 5yo cost me €40 and that’s fine.
On to the review. Jonathan is the man you’re looking for on this tour. I have to say he is knowledgeable. Hats off to him for being the driver and tour guide and for singing us 3 Irish songs all relating to the Irish life and history.
First to the Cliffs of Moher where you get 1 and a half hours to see the site. Be back on time or the bus will leave you behind. It’s ok to bring your stroller for the little one. Just know that you’ll be pushing it to the top of the hill. Next to a nearby pud for lunch where they serve.. yes, fish and chips and others like soup of the day and beed stew. Off to the Burren for a very scenic ocean view and some sea breeze. Lastly, an hour to spend at the vibrant city of Galway.
Don’t forget to take pictures while you can. All in all a very tiring but wholesome and great tour. Oh, and when you book 2 tours at once they have discounts. Just say Jonathan sent you.😉
P.S. I don’t have much photos cz my wife took all of them in her phone.😅

My parents decided to book this tour and it may have been our favorite part of the trip, particularly thanks to our wonderful bus driver, Johnathan. He was not only incredibly well-informed about all the sites we visited but also had a fantastic sense of humor that kept us entertained throughout the day.
We traveled during a chilly time of year, but honestly, it was perfect! There were hardly any crowds, and we got to enjoy all the stops with no lines at all—an added bonus that we didn’t expect.
One of the highlights of the day was when Johnathan sang some traditional Irish songs. He’s got an incredible voice —so much so that my family has still been singing those songs (especially the Rattlin’ Bog) even though we toured a few days ago! We joked that he should sell CDs because we would buy them in a heartbeat.
The entire day flew by, and I can honestly say that Johnathan made all the difference. His friendly, engaging personality and incredible singing talent turned an already fantastic tour into a truly unforgettable experience. I know I can speak for my mom, dad, and brother that we highly recommend this trip! ... Especially if you get Johnathan!

An organizational disaster:
1. We get summoned to Molly Malone and the buses leave somewhere else. A Guide appears in a while that tells us with the hand where the buses could be.
2. Looking for , we found a bus that leads to the cliffs, but it doesn't have the updated lists
3. They tell us to wait outside because more buses are coming. They've sold a lot of tickets and they don't have cars for everyone.
4. Later appears a boy who takes us back and forth.
5. In the end comes an old bus with no Common Guide chauffeur who knows nothing.
6. They take us to the cliffs and meet us at 12.30 to leave.
7. At 12.30 we're told we leave at 1pm.
8. Six passengers are missing. The driver doesn't know what to do. They don't know his name and his phone. We waited more than two hours.
9. We finally left for Goldway without eating.
10. We stopped for an hour to walk along Goldway.
11. We arrived at 8.45pm in Dublin.
Someone should require this company to fulfill what it offers on its tours and not deceive travelers

The tour guide was the driver himself explaining while driving. He never went down to the various stops to offer a guided tour. Some of the stops on the programme were not made, and the time to visit Galway was only 40 minutes instead of the 85 minutes on the programme. The day will be spent most of the time sitting in the bus. I don't recommend it.

If you are willing to spend 10 hours on the bus and drive 600 km, then it is worth it. The time in Galway was far too short, just over an hour. The afternoon meal in Doolin was warmed up and served in aluminum containers...

Johnathan was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide with great driving skills especially in a huge coach around those winding narrow roads. The group size is quite large but doesn't really effect anything. Everything was on time, coach was clean and there was plenty of stops and time for food, toilets and sight seeing. Highly recommend.

I am considering booking the Cliffs of Moher Day Trip from Dublin by Irish Day Tours, and would like to know how demanding it is from a physical point of view. Does it involve substantial climbs?
Also, any chance of being picked up from my hotel?
Best wishes,

Hi, I made this tour month ago and level of physical involvement was absolutely up to my decision. We had two hours for yourself at cliffs and everybody could choose his / her pace of exploring cliffs, Some people did cliff walking trail others stayed at view spot. Same in Galway, you can chill in the closest cafe or walk across the city. There was a familly with kids and stroller and they enjoyed whole day without any problems I guess. Pick up is question for tour operator, they were very kind and responsive to me.
