Coming back to Dublin center, jonathan sung us some irish songs, which made our day even greater. The irish history and legends kept us interested the whole tour and as we expected the landscapes were breath taking.Written 2 February 2025
- roxanneg6320 contributionsA perfect day!Jonathan was an outstanding guide and we had an incredible time! Just the right amount of bus time vs exploration and the views were incredible. I had a huge smile the entire day and the Irish songs on the bus ride home made my heart so happy. Would absolutely recommend this tour. Jonathan was an incredible host and seemed very connected to the local community around the sites and got us on a private tour of the first castle which was the favorite part of the day for me.Written 1 February 2025

- rhod_v20250 contributionsThe Cliffs were awesome, Gallway wasn'tThe trip began great! We visited the Cliffs of Moher, which are amazing! The lunch in Doolin was really nice too, but would be better if there was a little more time to finish the lunch. Gallway wasn't what we expected, not much to see, wouldn't recommend it, but it's part of the trip so you have no choice. The stops on the way are good to have a toiletstop or grab a coffee for on the way. Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and maybe a small pillow for in the bus, you'll need it! Our drives Cullen, was awesome and I loved the stories he told. I would have loved to listen to more Irish music while we were on the bus.Written 13 January 2025

- 45kennedyh0 contributionsBreathtaking Natural Sites, but Barely Anytime in GalwayThis was a good bus trip! The cliffs were amazing, and the tour guide was a great story teller! He was awesome to listen to, and the bus driver was awesome. My only complaint with this tour was the timing. We were only able to spend 25 minutes in Galway, which I understand was due to the road conditions coming from Burren. I spent the entire time looking for a washroom to use. However, when we were going to leave from Galway we waited an extra 25 minutes for people who were not on the bus. I understand waiting ten minutes, but only giving us 25 minutes in Galway and then wasting time to wait for people who were already late back to the bus at other stops was frustrating, especially when getting back to Dublin from Galway is possible (as opposed to leaving someone at a more remote location). However, this may just go to show how nice a tour guide they were! In Doolin, you only eat lunch so unfortunately can’t see much of the town. However the food was amazing! The cliffs were breathtaking. It was a perfect amount of time spent there! My favourite part of the trip was the drive between Doolin and Galway. The views were breathtaking and unlike anything I’ve seen in Ireland. I think it was my favourite part of the entire trip. Omar was such a good bus driver and even though conditions were not great I never got anxious about his driving. Overall, if you are going for the cliffs and moher and natural sightseeing specifically this is a great trip! If you want to see galway, I recommend a different tour.Written 4 January 2025
- Jana M0 contributionsAn Unforgettable TourThis tour was unforgettable, thanks to Alec, our amazing local guide. His warmth, open-hearted nature, and seamless storytelling brought everything to life, making the experience both enriching and effortlessly enjoyable. - dianaaV2874MX0 contributionsGreat but not long enoughThe driver and tour guide were absolutely amazing!! A must see in Ireland. The tour however was too rushed. You do NOT get 90 minutes in the cliffs and Galways, just one hour which is too short. The meeting point is not the statue, we were waiting there and by the time someone came for us the bus was full and me and my partner had to sit separately, even though we arrived ten minutes before the meeting hour. It is a must see in Ireland and a great way to explore if you don’t rent a car, just take into account the short timesWritten 30 December 2024

Our bus tour to Blarney Castle and Cahill with Derek was fantastic! Derek’s knowledge, humor, singing and passion made the trip unforgettable.
Blarney Castle was magical—kissing the stone and exploring the beautiful gardens was a dream. Cahill was a hidden gem, full of history and charm. The tour was perfectly organized, with just the right amount of time at each stop.
Despite the weather being chilly and windy and drizzling we were still able to do everything. Don’t bother with an umbrella and opt for a rain and wind proof jacket.
If you’re considering this tour, don’t hesitate! Derek’s expertise and the stunning destinations make it a must-do. Truly an unforgettable experience!

Adrian was a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide. This tour offers you the opportunity to explore three different castles. Adrian modified the trip so we were able to visit the first two castles before the rain started. Our family had previously been to Blarney castle, so we enjoyed being able to see several of the gardens and statues we missed our first time. Thank you for navigating such a lovely day for us!

While the sites themselves were great, the tour itself was regrettably poor. At our first stop to Cashel, we arrived two minutes prior to the time the driver told us to return, and found that he was leaving the parking lot! The only reason we got on the bus is because he had to get out and pay for parking.
At the next stop, when we arrived back to the bus even earlier, he then blamed us for being late at the previous stop!
At our stop to Blarney Castle, we were told to return again by a specific time, but the bus did not actually depart until nearly half an hour later despite all passengers having returned because the driver was standing outside the bus chatting with other passengers.
Blarney castle is a massive grounds and two hours did not feel sufficient to explore it. Additionally, each stop was so short that it was nearly impossible to get food except for at gas stations. After noticing that he was not checking to ensure other passengers were on the bus, and due to anxiety about being left behind, we ended up returning approximately 15 minutes early, further cutting into our time. Other passengers were also stressed about this, and one lady even got off the bus to see if she could find another passenger who was sitting in front of her to ensure she was not left behind.
The listing itself states that busses will be USB equipped, however our bus did not have any USB ports so do not expect to charge your phone on this 13.5 hour trip. The clock on the bus was incorrect. Additionally, the microphone was broken, so the driver did not actually give any information or history during our drive.
The driver also started the trip by running several red lights through Dublin!
As we took other trips through Finn McCool and had near a near opposite experience, we cannot recommend Irish Day Tours.

We were booked on this tour for Thursday August 3rd and we were phoned late Wednesday night to advise that it had been cancelled but it would be running on Friday. On Friday morning we woke at 530 am and arrived at the meeting place at 630am for our 650am departure. Along with the other passengers we were left standing there until 730am when they told us it was cancelled again. We left Ireland on the next day so due to the incompetance of this company we never got a chance to see the Blarney Castle. As we are from Canada we will not likely ever see it now. We had to fight for our refund as they tried to give us a credit valid for a year. They finally agreed to a full refund but that doesn't help us with never seeing what we came to Ireland to see ... very unreliable company I do not recommend

I would rate this 5 for the castles and 2 for the guide, who doubled as our driver.
The castles were awesome! My favorite was the Rock of Cashel. The architecture is stunning! I felt we had enough time at Cashel and Cahir castles to explore and enjoy the sights. Cahir had great guides working at the castle. The one we got was informative, funny, and knew how to captivate his audience. At Cashel, there was a 20 minute intro video (that was probably made in the 80s lol) but we skipped that after 10 minutes because it just talked about the religious background rather than other interesting tidbits of history. Exploring the ruins was much more interesting, even though there weren't any guides to tell us the history.
Blarney Castle was cool, and the grounds were huge! You could easily spend the whole day just exploring the grounds. I wish we had more time there. I think we only got 2 hours but that didn't seem like enough. We didn't make the trek up to kiss the Blarney Stone because the line was over an hour long and it wound up through a tiny claustrophobic staircase inside the castle. We felt it was perhaps over-hyped. Instead we explored the grounds because they were so peaceful, and we saw Blarney House.
As for our guide/bus driver, we were very disappointed. The bus did not have working wifi or USB charging ports. Our guide did not have a mic to talk to us and the bus was huge so those of us who sat in the middle or back could not hear him at all. He didn't say much in any case. It was clear from talking to him one-to-one at the stops that he had a lot of information and history in his head, but he wasn't great at presenting that information to us. I was expecting commentary on the landscapes we passed in the bus, as well as introductions to the three castles we visited, but we got none of that. He was a nice guy, but was basically just our driver. He wasn't very good at herding us at the locations, either. We were often confused about where we were supposed to go once we got off the bus because he had to leave us to go park. It worked out in the end, but we'd have liked clearer communication.
We ended up having the same tour guide the next day for the Boyne Valley Ancient Sites tour and he was still disappointing. We didn't even get his name after two days of traveling with him. Overall, we weren't impressed with Irish Day Tours if this is how all the tour guides are.

Had a great day even though we were battling winds. In fact the wind was so bad that The Rock of Cashel was closed and our little bus was trying to be blown all over the motor way. Derek handled it like a champ tho and we made it to all our destinations safely and we're even given extra time at Blarney Castle and gardens.
I highly recommend once you're done kissing the stone that you spend some time wandering around the gardens or having a bite to eat in their renovated stables.

We missed the bus and they still refuse to give us a refund. Read other reviews on this same occurence. We were at the said location at 6:40am standing at the foot of the statue. 2 other girls were with us and they said they had been waiting since 6:30am. They DID NOT see or hear anyone announce for the Blarney Castle tour. There was another driver for the Cliffs and we saw him pick up 2 groups while our driver NEVER showed up. The other driver even said that he DID NOT see our driver. We tried calling the number on the description and it immediately dropped. The other girls also called and their call was also dropped. The driver for the Cliffs then called our driver and informed us that they had already left. We are very disappointed and highly recommend NOT booking with this tour. You will lose your money.

Impressive history delivered by a witty, informative, warm and approachable guide (Paul) permanently stamped the stunning antiquities, and rolling countryside in our collective hearts ❤️.
Regardless of the weather, do not hesitate to take this diverse and scenic tour. Blarney Castle and Cashel Rock are as impressive in their role of Irish Heritage as they are stunning photo opportunities.
The gardens at Blarney were ENCHANTING despite the rainy weather…..
Will not hesitate to recommend, nor REPEAT on a next trip for more time on the gardens….. One could easily spend a day exploring it’s wondrous attractions in every corner….
Hope this helps :)

Go to the cafe instead of the food court. The Irish stew and fish chowder was amazing. It's a beautiful Irish pub with excellent service. Don't forget to have a pint, your not driving 😂

Could you confirm whether an infant can join this tour from beginning to end without needing an infant seat? The description states infants can join but then mentions both bring own safety seat as well as "must sit on lap."
Thank you in advance

Why is this different information from the one on the tour companies website (Irish day tours). On their website it states you will be dropped off at Dame Street or Riddlers Restaurant so which is it? Also their website doesn’t have time break down how accurate is the time spent at each place?
Written 11 February 2020
The Riddler's restaurant is an additional option that you can purchase with your tour. And at each stop you'll have a good amount of time at each place blarney castle was the most time spent

Is there a stop for lunch or a midday meal?
Written 5 August 2019
We were there in June 2019. Not a stop just for lunch but you can eat at the cafe at Blarney Castle. You will have to build it in to your visit time. By the way it was 1 1/2 hour wait to kiss the stone. We did kiss it but then had to gobble down lunch.

Hello. We would like to book this tour but need to know about lunch or a midday meal? Is there a stop or place for this?

We had plenty of time for lunch at Blarney. They also stop on the way for a quick snack.
