- lindac88300Long dayThe train is definitely the way to go. The trip is LONG. We left at 7am and got back at 815. Tired and hungry. The museum in Cork took up too much time. We walked to town and found a pub.

- sunil_ie00Ring of Kerry Rail Tours - Day Trip from Dublin with marathon Legend John ToddLast Tuesday we had a fantastic Irish Rail day tour (Ring of the Kerry) experience with our Rail tour guide Marathon legend John Todd. John has warmly welcomed us. I've got two of our relatives visiting from India. As usual, the Irish Rail tours are very well planned and best use of time & quality. Our tour guide John was the cherry on the cake.. a true Irish legend. He is not only a tour Guide but a great photographer as well. He has done ~13 Marathons in Ireland, London & Boston with a brilliant PB 02:39. It was an honor to meet such a great person with deep experience of Irish history & Northern Ireland. He shared every single detail with a map of our tour plan from train to bus, Killarney house & garden, and at the end Killarney city walking tour. During the bus ride, he entertained with his jokes, rich Irish culture, and relevant general knowledge of political and social systems. It was an awesome entire day with John and and the team. Would love to do more tours with John and Irish Rail 😊🌄🚄
- TeresaC66600Cold , rainy but funTour included train and bus. Was long day it was fun. Views amazing. Cold windy and rainy , be prepared for all weather. Tour guide was great and bus drivers are so skilled on those long Narrow roads. Great memories
- E7354ZVandreas00Take the tourLoved the tour and places we stopped! Railway was a great way to travel. Guide provided great details
- Explorer1985284917300Day tour from Dublin to The Giants Causeway with Railtours IrelandWe left Dublin Connolly Station with our tour guide Marathon John at the helm heading for Belfast and onward to the Giants Causeway. Bad weather as a result of Storm Babette delayed our progress with a landslip requiring our small group of 6 to transfer to a coach for part of the journey. John organised things brilliantly. Having missed our connection at Belfast station for the tour along the Antrim Coast we were met by a luxury 8 seater Mercedes V class minivan. It was driven my Rodney and his wife, the owners of the coach company. They acted as tour guides on our journey to the lunch stop at the Fullerton Arms on the North Coast. Fuelled by a Guinness and a pie we travelled onward to the Giants Causeway with spectacular views across to the Scottish Isles. John our guide escorted us from the coach down to the causeway. He was very knowledgeable and informative and showed us the best photo stops on the loop down to the sea. Back on the coach Ray our driver took us to Dunluce Castle and the Dark Hedges, both well known Game of Throne Landmarks. That left us just enough time for a 25 minute stop at the Bushmills Distillery for a quick sampling experience in the visitor area. Rebecca from New York, one of our small group on the tour, beat us to cashier and treated us to a tasting tray of 3 shots of the good stuff. Due to rail delays caused by Fridays storm we were keen to get back to Belfast for the slightly earlier 6pm train back to Dublin. Ray our driver cleared it with his boss and we made good time to the station arriving with 5 minutes to spare before departure. On our rail trip back to Dublin John our guide talked to us about the history of the land and its hidden treasures. We had a brilliant day which ended around 9pm on arrival at Connolly Station. A special mention goes to John our guide for the day. He was full of information and facts and our small group had a fabulous day.
- gmck5100Great tour!We really liked this tour. Sights and scenery was beautiful. The tour guide kept every one informed of where to be and when and was very attentive to everyone’s needs. The sights and scenery on this trip was amazing! The place we stoppped for lunch was delicious and they had everyone in and out in record time. Would recommend this tour if you get a chance to do it!!
- Go4108796575100Great day tripGreat day trip to the cliffs from Dublin. Our host was great and knowledgeable, and while it was a long day it was completely worth it. It was nice being able to stop in other places along the way too such as Galway. Just a heads up, my booking said there would be breakfast on the train but that is a bit of a stretch. There is tea and instant coffee and a cart with snacks and pastries.
- vlkesq00Forget the hassle, let this tour take care of you. They really had it together. We signed up for a six day tour and added two extra days in Dublin. We were met at the airport as arranged and taken to our hotel. Our guide for the first three days was Brian and he was fabulous. Funny and knowledgeable. All our other guides were excellent also. We really saw everything we wanted to without the hassle of organizing it! They did a good job of breaking up the drives at interesting and beautiful stops. The only quibble I had was there was no way to reach anyone outside of regular working hours. Also it would have been nice to have the full detailed itinerary prior to our arrival. They dealt promptly with any questions I had. The hotels were very nice and located centrally. Highly recommend.
- mattykin00A Perfect Day Tour Cliffs of Moher Bunratty Castle GalwayWe went on a 15 hour rail/coach tour out of Dublin. From the morning, we met our tour guide until he safely returned. His back to Dublin in the evening strip was outstanding. Seats were reserved for the group and the coach was very comfortable and coach driver very efficient. I can not say enough good things about David our guide we learned so much history during our tour. Our tour included Bunratty Castle, The Cliffs of Moher, a drive along the Atlantic coastline and finished with free time for walking, shopping and eating in Galway. I would fully recommend this tour to anyone who inquired.
- Fearless69297900The tour was outstanding. The time at each stop, was more than enough. The Tour Guide’s were extremely thoughtful and heTour Guide stayed with you to make sure you got on the right trains the right buses. The buses and trains were very comfortable and more than accommodating.
- dianemC4133QV00Rail tours of IrelandBrian our tour guide for most of our trip was the most informative, friendly and lovely gentleman. We learned so much about the country and totally enjoyed our trip. Andrea and Gerry also deserve high praise because they also were amazing. RIT made our trip to Ireland magical. Thank you so much. Will highly recommend this company.
- Q7206HRscottn00Ring of Kerry Rail TourJon Todd was an excellent docent. He looked after and guided us through the trip with humor and historical facts. Though it rained the bus driver Bat made the day totally enjoyable. His knowledge and singing were both high lights. I would recommend this trip to all. Scott Nethery
- windsorho00Our guide saved a rainy dayToday was our 5 th rail tour visiting Ring of Kerry. Even though it was pouring rain, our tour guide John Todd and our driver made it fun and memorable. They are both very knowledgeable and gave us great insight and history during the trip. The driver has a beautiful voice and he sang 2 songs for us. Our guide is humorous and the cuddly teddy bear analogy will stay with me forever. Thank you so much.
- X5670VAsandras00Great trip!Loved this trip with John. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and carefully attended to everyone. John gave us great insight into the history of the area and made sure all went smoothly. Would go on another Trip with this company when next in Ireland

I have always wanted to see and visit Ireland, and i was able to see many places in a short time. As a solo traveler, i was content with the time spent at certain places (and there were many along the way!), taking many photos. I can see how some may think people get rushed, but one must respect that that it is a timed tour, and sometimes people need to catch a bus/train later in the day. Unfortunately I had to spend more due to being a solo traveler. Some other tours were overlapping, some joining us later in the week, making some scenarios and itineraries confusing, but trust the process, as it works out in the end! The rooms booked for me were awesome! very spacious and comfortable. The amount of places visited with admission price waived was great, and seeing all these places while avoiding having to rent a car works for me :). I got to see Cliffs of Moher, Blarney Castle Kylemore Abbey and so many other photogenic stops! The guides were knowledgeable, good on ya, Terrance!
It got a bit hairy at the end, the bus was not going to stop at train station until others were dropped off first, and we had 15 minutes to catch a train back to Dublin. The driver did not like us speaking up, but we ended up being dropped off first, and just made our train
All in all, such a good experience if one is willing to stick to a schedule

The 3-day, 2-night tour was well worth it. We saw many of the sights we wanted to see in Ireland, including Blarney Castle (the grounds are spectacular), the Cliffs of Moher, Cobh, and the Ring of Kerry. Bunratty Castle and village were spectacular, as was a sheepdog demonstration in a downpour and a park waterfall. Our guide Terrence was quite knowledgeable, and he handled all the tour logistics. Killarney was a quaint town or small city to stay in, and the pub food at the lunch stops and the hotel breakfast food was quite good. We were very happy with our tour. Rain and fog in Kerry spoiled some expected views there but the tour guide does not control the weather!

This was the second time we used this company for a trip to Ireland and both times we were not disappointed. They are very efficient with their communication and setting up all the details for an effortless trip. This time I took three couples with us and they thoroughly enjoyed the trip, traveling through County Cork, down to Ring of Kerry & upward to cliffs of Moher. They were very accommodating to my friends with special walking needs. However the biggest highlight had to be our tour guide Brian. Brian Duggan. He has to be rated the best tour guide I’ve ever has. He was not only extremely informative he was funny. He connected with my group and made them feel as much as I do why I love the Irish people.

I wish I could do 3.5! It was well-organized with clear instructions from beginning to end. Easy to find the tour guides at the train station where the tour begins. Not everyone in the group was doing the same itinerary, and the guide was very clear at making sure everyone knew where they needed to go. I haven’t done one of these big group tours for several days before, so it was convenient that everything was arranged for you. The hotel they booked was very nice.
The negatives: itinerary was too full; I would have preferred spending longer at some stops rather than making so many quick stops. Felt quite rushed. Our guide while knowledgeable was a bit dry/bland in conveying the information. I think it was just not for me personally, nothing to do really with the guides or the company per se. I’d like to mention that this tour may not be best for a younger demographic who may get a bit bored with some of the the things that were highlighted on the tour! The cemetery for example - really felt like that stop was unnecessary.

We were completed taken care of and thoroughly enjoyed our three day tour. Our guides John Todd and Andrew Roach were knowledgeable and made our trip comfortable, entertaining and certainly memorable. We learned so much more about the areas we visited because we had these professionals to lead us. Our drivers and everyone associated with the tour company, including the hotel and restaurant staff, absolutely did an amazing job going above and beyond to make sure we saw the very best of Ireland. I HIGHLY recommend them for anyone wanting a quality experience.

The trip was well-organised so we didn't have to worry about anything. The wild nature of the western coast is amazing and visits to sites like the Cobh heritage center added to our understanding of Irish history and culture. Our guide Jonathan is a historian and his humor combined with in-depth knowledge made the whole experience more than worthwhile. Even my 13-year old son never missed a thing Jonathan said.

While the locations selected were great, the whole process of the tour was hectic and tiring and confusing and involved a lot of self luggage transfers and walking quite a bit with the luggage. While the decription provide is not in itself inaccurate, they do not tell you that you have to transfer luggage in many places between buses and trains and also you are NOT dropped off and picked up at your hotel/B&B doorsteps. Sometimes you have to walk more than 500+ step with your luggage.
Addiditonally the guides and drivers many times provide you worng or inconsistent information regarding the plan for the day.
The stay provided for 2 of the 3 nights was in a dinghy, cold (no shampoo etc) B&B which was located some 1500 + steps from the main town drag in Killarney.
All this information should have been disclosed upfornt so one could make a informed decision.
There is no water or refreshments on the train so be prepared for this.

Wow! I cannot say enough great things about our experience on Railtours Ireland! Our tour guide Brian was the absolute best and told the most amazing stories and history. We learned about the history of Ireland, leprechauns, and fairy trees all while driving through the beautiful Irish countryside! The trains were efficient and the buses were able to get us closer to all the beautiful sights along the coast. This being our first time in Ireland, we really wanted to see everything without having to rent a car. We are so happy we chose the rail tour because we got to see everything and learn so much along the way. We especially loved Blarney castle and the cliffs of Moher even if it rained the whole day! Everything was so well organized and perfectly timed. So glad to have not had to book all the excursions and transportation on our own. Again, tour guide Brian was easily the most fun part! I hope we can take another tour in the future!

Our tour guide Brian did a great job the entire trip. He was knowledgeable and had great recommendations at all stops. He made sure all of knew where we were going and where to meet back up. Everything was beautiful and the trains and busses were nice. They did a good job of letting us have photo stops and we didn’t feel rushed at any of the longer stops. We would definitely book a tour through them again and wished we had time to have done the 6 day tour.

What are the accommodations? Can I know where I am staying before I book?
Hello, why does it show days are available when I book for adults, but when I go to book for adults and children (15 and under) it shows those exact days not available?
