- redeco0 contributionsIrish Folkloric Show with Dinner at The Lansdowne HotelThe Irish House Party takes place at The Lansdowne Hotel which occupies an 18th century Dublin mansion. Dinner is on the parlor floor and consists mostly of Irish menu favorites. I chose the Beef & Guinness stew and started with a salad. Dinner quality is good...tables are mostly larger and seat a dozen or so guests. Dinner is at 6:30 and the show follows at 8:00. Showcasing Irish traditional music and dance, the entertainment is informative and foot tapping. Enjoy!Written 13 October 2024
- 966mariez0 contributionsYou must see thisThis was my third visit to The Irish House Party and it keeps getting better. Excellent food in a nice pub, good service and very relaxed atmosphere. We were lucky enough to sit in the first row for the show which was a real treat. It is so entertaining, funny, moving. Terrific music and the dancer Roisin was stunning. The show gives you so much insight into Irish music and dancing in a very intimate setting. You really have to go and see this!Written 17 June 2024
- PAdixie0 contributionsGreat!!An excellent evening of great dining and entertainment. The music was wonderful and the dancer incredible. I felt like I experienced an evening of traditional Irish entertainment.Written 1 June 2024
- FunisGood530 contributionsWonderful EveningBooked this prior to leaving home as we wanted to be certain to hear some traditional Irish music and see some dancing and we were not disappointed. Did not eat dinner here so can't comment, but the entertainment frankly exceeded our expectations. It was not a cheesy, touristy show. The music was wonderful, the dancer awesome, and the narrative by the "emcee" was entertaining and informative. The venue was pleasant, casual, and it was nice to be able to bring a drink to your seat. We stayed near the Temple Bar (Morrison Hotel - review to follow) and I noticed that there were a number of shows in that area also. While I clearly can't comment on any of them I am glad that we chose this venue which is away from that area. Temple Bar reminded us of Bourbon Street, and the main activity seemed to be 20 somethings looking for intoxication. (Been there, done that). So again, totally glad that we booked this show, would recommend without hesitation. Get in early to get a seat near the stage. Slainte!Written 21 April 2024
- rebeccab9420 contributionsnot reliable, even when you have paid, cancellation at last minute.avoid , not a reliable booking, we booked in 2023 for 4 Australian guests, cancelled 5 days before show. very unprofessional.Written 11 March 2024
- T1975EBlindseyb0 contributionsA must do in Dublin!!!!!!This was our favorite thing we did in Dublin over our 3 days! We attended only the show portion 8-930pm on our first night in Dublin and it was the best welcome to the town and intro. to Irish music and dancing. My sister and I were also laughing out loud the whole show. We both left and said how we couldn’t stop smiling the whole time because it was just so fun!!Written 21 July 2023
- corrineg8920 contributionsA Great Night! We booked this evening, not with a tour, which gives you a more random group. First you are served a first-class meal in the beautiful hotel. The service is top notch and I Highly recommend the Guinness Stew, the best I had in Ireland. You are then escorted down to the basement for a fun hour of live music and Irish dancing.Written 23 April 2023
- Cinzia S0 contributionsReally authentic Irish show! The Irish House Party Show was an amazing experience, definitely a must see when in Dublin, if you want to have a taste of the real Irish welcome and culture! The atmosphere was very intimate and authentic and all the performers were so talented. The show was really entertaining, we could have watched them playing, dancing, and listening to their stories for hours. Highly recommended!Written 5 March 2023
- Travis S0 contributionsA must do in DublinAmazing show with a fantastic meal. They were very entertaining if you want a traditional irish night out then put this on your list. Book in advance it sells out often. Oh and the den bar down stairs is one of the best pubs in dublin.Written 29 November 2022
- TheMissingLink660 contributionsExcellent dinner and brilliant show - highly recommend.Had a lovely 3 course traditional Irish dinner before going downstairs to the music and dancing show. 4 amazing musicians and a fabulous Irish Dancer, the night we went. Really engaged with the audience. Superb evening.Written 18 October 2022
- Val C0 contributionsFun evening outThe Irish House party at the Lansdown Hotel made a very enjoyable conclusion to a few days in Dublin. Impossible to sit still to the music, feet tapping, hands clapping joining in the chorus and laughing. Totally bewitched by the speed of the dancer's feet and legs, not to mention her calm smile while performing at such speed! At the end of the evening one of the musicians gave us a private demo of the Bodhran drum, encouraging us to try it for ourselves. Great fun and highly recommended.Written 27 September 2022
- TonyB03080 contributionsIncredible Irish Folk ExperienceI came to the Irish House Party as a chaperone visiting from the ‘States. We got to enjoy a lovely series of Irish folk songs and participate in some traditional Irish dances while learning about the different types of dances and instruments. The band were super friendly and professional. The kids absolutely loved it! It was hands down one of greatest highlights of our experience in Ireland. Most of us would gladly come back again. If you’re looking to have some good ‘crack’ (as the locals say) in Dublin, this is certainly a fine place to do so! 10/10 Cheers!Written 1 July 2022
- Missqueenie0 contributionsExcellentAn evening filled with talented musicians and a fantastic dancer. This is an intimate setting where you feel a part of the how. This was an awesome way to spend our last night in Ireland and one of the highlights of our trip. I highly recommend this unique show.Written 21 October 2019
- mfisberg0 contributionsIrish inheritance very cozyThe experience begins with a dinner at the restaurant of the lansdowne hotel, tables reserved and a 3 plate menu( regular but tasty)! After dinner you get down to the little theater and the ensemble presents an intimate show of irish music, instruments and solo tap dance! 90 min that pass fast and you regret the end! Not cheap nor expensive but worth the experience!Written 18 October 2019
- Dalycape0 contributionsSo much fun!I love Irish music and I thought this might not live up to my expectations but it exceeded them! The group is fun and sings lots of different tunes. Whether you’re new to Irish music or have loved it for years, you will enjoy this!Written 17 October 2019

Attended the house party on the 29th of October for my birthday ,we booked for the full package which included dinner prior to the show . really disappointed with the experience of the meal .starters served shortly after being sat at our table ,husband had soup ,i had the the irish coddle i think it was called ,both enjoyed .
Main meal , my husband was served his and had finished his even before mine was served. asked had they forgotten my meal ,was told no it will be served shortly.Shortly turned out to be much later after another 3 tables were served their main meals before myself ,one of the tables was occupied after we has our starters yet still they got served their before myself. asked again had they forgotten my meal only to be told no its on its way. Wasnt happy and when arrived was asked if i wish to have a drink on the house .There was another 2 couples complaining, the meal was not up to standard ,cheese filo pastry which i had ordered was dry and vegetable just warm. Husbands meal although tasty he said was only just warm .Dessert chocolate brownie and baileys ice cream didn't have any flavour of baileys and brownie very dry without the squashiness inside. Then everyone was told we need to go downstairs to be seated ready for the show. Many hadn't finished their desserts yet told to go downstairs.
However the musical show was fantastic very enjoyable .only wish the meal experience wasnt so bad, not just commented by ourselves but by many for being rushed and not up to standard only glad we didnt book taxi for 9pm as stated by the website when show would be over as it finished at around 930 pm .sorry for the bad review but £97 for 2 tickets with meal included is not cheap for an event not to be organized as stated on the website . music was fantastic really enjoyed .we wore masks but no social distance during show , all were sat next to each other without a gap between ,not everyone wore a mask

Hi Diane, Apologies for the mix up with your food and I'm glad you were offered a drink on the house by our staff. In relation to current Covid-19 guidelines all our guests have to show proof of vaccination on entry and we have strict contact tracing protocols in place. It is up to the discretion of the guests if they want to wear their mask during the show performance as per government guidelines. Masks should be worn when moving around or going to the toilets. In relation to seating, guests can sit where they like on entry to the show so there is space if you choose to sit away from other guests. Glad you enjoyed the performance and thanks for your feed back which I will pass on to the staff.Hope to see you guys back with us when all restrictions are lifted!

The best part of our 12 day trip around this incredible country was this amazing evening of traditional music. We laughed, we cried, we sang along with them. We watched with our mouths agape at the virtuosity of each of the members of the Irish House Party. When we come back to Dublin, we will bring family members and simply tell them they must must must book this thrilling evening of music, dance and fun!!. Don’t miss it.

Absolutely loved this dinner and show! Dinner offered several choices on a price fixe menu in the Lansdowne Hotel. We were then all led downstairs for the show, which was absolutely wonderful! There was a three-piece group that offered authentic Irish music, banter, stories, jokes, and crowd participation. They brought on a young man who did some very spirited Irish dance (this portion was a massive hit with the ladies). The audience was from all over; lots of Americans, but Canadians, Dutch, Italians, and others as well. Audience participation was encouraged, fueled by a few Guinesses at dinner. The performers have my respect, it’s hard to imagine keeping a show like that fresh night after night, but they pulled it off. I think they genuinely love their craft. If I’m asked to recommend one thing tourists do in Dublin, this is it.

This show is aces. The musicians were fantastic, and we felt fortunate to be able to see the dancing of Jean Kennedy, who used to dance with Riverdance and is just outstanding. Lots of laughs in the show and some poignant ballads too. The musicianship and singing was top-notch and I would have given this five stars if it were just about the show.
The problem was with dinner. We booked for our family of four (two adults, two teenagers) on our own. When we arrived, we were seated in the very lovely dining room. Great! However, a huge busload arrived at the same time as we did and the host came over and told us we had to move to a side room where the bar was to sit by ourselves because they didn't have enough room for all the bus people. It was pretty galling to have to move into an empty room like second-class citizens seeing as we paid as much (if not more!) than the busload.
The host apologized and offered us a free round of drinks, but we were disappointed. It wasn't handled very well, both in the planning (we booked way in advance so the organizers should have known the numbers) and in the execution. Asking us to move was pretty uncool and embarrassing to boot.
I guess the moral is watch out for the busses!

Great atmosphere, great food, great beer and drinks and an excellent traditional Irish music group accompanied by a dancer with an excellent performance. That's all we found at the Irish House Party.
You can come and just watch the music show but if you can the dinner don't miss it, the salmon and leek and brie cheese were delicious.
It's definitely a place I highly recommend visiting on your days off to sample the food and listen to traditional Irish music.

To have a great time with good food, good drinks, and excellent traditional Irish music, this is the place.
A beautiful Townhouse where you can start with some rounds of drinks while you wait for the show, dinner is optional and was delicious. Three-course menu with starter, main course, and dessert.
The musicians are amazing and very funny, they tell the story of their instruments and the songs in a very entertaining way. The dancer demonstrated traditional dances that look very difficult to perform. Great place to go on your visit to Dublin.

What a fun evening of food and song! I found the listing on Trip advisor and knew a little of the music culture from Ireland from my readings and from friends who had travelled to Ireland before so I thought it would be a fun night for the family and I was not disappointed!
I thoroughly enjoyed the music and the food and they kept us engaged and I learned a lot about the Uilleann pipes and it was truly fascinating. The sound and warmth of the music was great and it is definitely a thing worth doing if you have the time.
As a complete side note, the Landsdowne Hotel had the best pint of Guinness that I had in Dublin and I’m sure there may be other areas that may contend but it was definitely my finest pint during my short stay.

We did the Irish House Party Dinner and Show the first night we were in Dublin. It was such a great start to our trip! We loved everything! The food was great, tasty and loved the vegetable soup! The staff were kind, courteous and attentive. The show itself was absolutely fabulous! It really started our trip off with a bang by hearing Irish music and seeing Irish dance! The musicians were all great and had a great sense of humor. The show was interactive and it wasn’t overly long. I would highly recommend this show to anyone looking to experience traditional Irish music and dance.

An absolutely wonderful evening, I highly recommend. The Irish Dance Party sings, dances, jokes, tells Irish history, and includes the audience in a fun-loving way. The 4 musicians were incredibly talented, each playing at least two instruments, and the woman who does the Irish dancing was excellent. The variety between song and dance was refreshing, and in between, Gerry (the lead guitar and assumed leader of the band) would tell jokes, have the audience sing along (THAT was hilarious), or explain Irish history. It is an appropriate and fun evening for all ages, including children. We left feeling uplifted and laughed all the way back to the hotel, recalling Gerry's jokes.
