Welcome to the Home of Guinness. Located in the heart of St. James’s Gate, the Guinness Storehouse was once the old fermentation plant of the brewery where today, you can experience the history, heart, and soul of Ireland’s most iconic beer. As you explore the space, find out what makes the brewing process so special, hear about the history of the brewery and check out the archive of award-winning Guinness advertisements on display. My favorite part was the coopers. The men who made the barrels for the Guinness. These men had some skills. Skills that are dying out. No measuring just all cut by eye. Some really good work and worth watching the video of them making the barrels from scratch.

Hi Sandra, Thank you for this lovely review. I agree - the cooperage section is extremely interesting, especially because you can see actual footage of the coopers in action. It was a very highly skilled job and it used to take almost six years to be fully trained as a cooper!! Fascinating tour through the process of making a pint of Guinness and you get to taste it as well. Displays are very informative and some nice human touches. Don’t forget to experience the views of Dublin from the Gravity bar and also the food in Arthurs Restaurant is amazing.
