Culinary Tour of Kinsale a great treat
Amanda Neri was our guide and she was outstanding. We were blown away with her singing! She is extremely talented. She gave us so much history of the area and the food selections were perfect. A real Irish coffee! The end with Fishy Fishy was perfect and a special treat. 5 of 5 stars for sure

    Kinsale Culinary Tour
Siobhan our guide was so knowledgeable about food and history of Kinsale. Myself and my husband booked a private tour during our stay in Kinsale. I am a big foodie and wanted to get a flavour of all the wonderful food establishments in Kinsale. I would highly recommended this tour as it gave us a great overview of the stunning food available in Kinsale. It was worth every penny and it a great excuse to travel to Kinsale again to try out more of the wonderful food establishments in Kinsale. Thanks Siobhan for making our tour experience exceptional

    Highly Recommended!
Can we give this 10 Stars! We took this tour on our first day in Kinsale and so glad we did. Our tour guide and now close, personal, forever friend, Kerry, took us all over this enchanting village. In addition to the culinary experience, she told us about this historic village which goes WAY BACK and walked us all around, through the tiny, winding streets. We sampled Irish coffee, locally sourced cheeses, breads, chocolates and more. Start hungry... because you will be stuffed at the end. I recommend taking this tour, with Kerry if possible, on day one to learn the lay of the land and to open your awareness to the architecture that surrounds. Highly recommend Kerry and this tour specifically.

    Great tour
We were trying to sneak a food tour in to our road trip around ireland and stumbled upon this lovely little town. Frances shared so much information with us about the town and the culinary scene. They were also very accommodating with any dietary preferences. Very much enjoyed this tour!

    The Perfect Day
This adventure was well worth our time and money! Our guide, Kerry, was absolutely delightful and shared lots of interesting history along the way. We enjoyed the walk around town to each stop, and the food and drinks were just right. Kerry offered some options about the walking to best suit our needs. Highly recommend!

    A Gem of a Town!
Kerry was our guide. My sister and I loved her. She gave us a great background/history of the island! We toured different restaurants for delicious tastings which were very generous samplings. The harbor front was gorgeous. Kerry was very knowledgeable of the ships from the early 1800's and beyond! I highly recommend this lovely walking food tour and history with Kerry!

    Fantastic tour and guide!
Our travel agent recommended this tour and it was great. Kerry was knowledgeable, funny and so friendly! We stopped in many places for food samples with a ton of Mondale history. Don’t eat a lot before this.. you will have gourmet appetizers and seafood chowder to name a few. Thanks Kerry!

    Good but pricey
Frances was knowledgeable about town/food and pleasant for the tour. Thought the price was high for the tour and amount of food. We took a similar tour in Dublin which included a lot more food and it was 20% less.

Informative stroll through a delightful town, with treats!
Frances was pleasant and well-informed about Kinsale and other towns in Ireland. We enjoyed the food provided and the pointers on things to do and places to eat for the days we are in Kinsale and Cork.

For me, a culinary tour should show case how culinary impacted society andhow history impacts culinary art of today. This tour was a nice day in cork and we gained a better under standing of buildings, butter abd the market. Yet for culinary, it lacked the rich aspects of culinary arts in Cork. We did not talk about foods, flavors, ethinic impacts, and history driving food. For the cost of the tour, I would have expected more... two drinks, market snacks, and pub appetizers without significant historical context for 60 euros per person was expensive. Yet, I am glad we went, it was an average experience.

Hello Maria, I am confused with this review to be honest. The tour begins with the story of Irish butter and the value of trading, exportation of Irish food products from the 1800's and how food impacted Irish history culturally, economically and politically. I also explain the story of the Allen family in Ballymaloe House and the impact they had on launching Cork as a food destination with their creativite and inventive "country home cooking" The traders in the market go above and beyond to introduce their specific Cork products that you sampled and the wait staff at the brewery explain in detail the types and names of the local beers and stouts guests can choose from. I gave a history of the English market, its origins, and its struggle to survive in an ever changing Irish economy, the story of the Queen's visit and much more. I am sorry you seem to have missed this attention to detail that Bonner Travel strives for on each and every tour but your review will keep me on my toes going forward with other tours. Thank you for keeping me in check. Regards, Frances

The history is great, the sights are awesome, of course. But the highlight of our tour was the guide herself, Cork-native Amanda. She knows the area, personally knows the people at all the stops, and provides joyful surprises along the way. Look, if a 3-hour experience can make me cry simply because it has to end, it's just a winner. Bravo to Amanda, and the delightful history, art, shopping, and cuisine of Cork! Prepare to be charmed, and bring your appetite!

This was an absolute lovely tour and I consider it a "must do" for anyone visiting Cork. Fran Bonner is an excellent tour guide - extremely knowledgeable, highly entertaining, up on the local lore and tapped into the the best places to visit in Cork from a culinary and historical perspective. She made our family feel so welcome - as if we were part of her family. The tastings were outstanding, diverse and delicious. I highly recommend this tour - we would take it again and would love to book her Kinsale tour in the future.

The Cork culinary tour was a wonderful introduction to Ireland’s “Second City”. Frances was lovely, informative, and so easy to talk to. Her roots withe the English Market run deep and she treated us to more bites and sips than we expected. Highly recommend as an introduction to Cork and local culinary traditions.

We had a wonderful tour with Kerry! We were grateful to be able to book this last minute during our trip to Cork (thanks, Frances!) and cannot recommend this highly enough! Every step of the journey was thoughtfully curated to share the delicious culture and history of the city. Kerry was a fantastic and enthusiastic guide. By the end, we were stuffed and our mouths are watering just remembering all the things we ate!

My partner and I visited Ireland in September and thoroughly enjoyed a culinary tour of Cork. It was a small group with just one other couple and the guide (Val). She was very knowledgeable about Irish history, culture, the city and obviously the food. Given we were such a small group it gave us a lot of opportunity to learn more about Cork as we went from one location to the next. We started off with an Irish coffee and ended with Irish stew and Guinness in one of the oldest pubs in Cork. The English Market was one of the highlights and we tasted sausages, cheeses, fresh oysters and fish, fresh local produce and chocolates. We were able to converse directly with the vendors and heard many stories about the market and how long they’d been in operation. Overall, it was a very enjoyable tour and one that foodies to Cork should consider.

You can't go wrong with this food tour. Claire made us feel like family and put us at ease right away. She taught us the history of Cork as well as the tasty food of Cork. You have got to try the sausage at O'Flynns gourmet sausage inside the English Market! Well done Claire! We love Cork as much as you do now!

This was one of the best things we did as Americans in Ireland for the first time. Fran was our tour guide and she made us feel so welcome. She took us to some of her favorite local spots, and taught us city history. You can tell she's a big part of the community and loved by all of her vendors. We lucked out being the only 4 to book the tour that day and we're excited to be shown around cork by a local! We started with an Irish coffee at a really cool little pub and then spent most of our time in the English market sampling items from different booths and meeting the vendors, then ended in another of Frans favorite pubs for a light lunch. We weren't expecting it but we're completely full by the end! We let her know our next location and she made so many great recommendations she ended up basically planning our next two days for us. Highly recommended for groups of any size it's clear they are very organized and know their stuff!! Thanks again Fran we loved our tour!! -The Phegleys
