About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- megancM3116AO0 contributionsGreat experience with awesome recommendationsWe took our tour with Léa who was so personable and knowledgeable about everything she showed us. The stops were all really nice and I thought the amount of food was just perfect — sometimes food tours are extremely generous and I feel uncomfortably full. I appreciated the variety of cuisine (cheese, Asian fusion, baked goods, etc.) but also the explanations of how they relate to a modern Ireland and its relationship with food.Written 2 October 2024
- aspectsofireland0 contributionsrelaxed, fun tour of Dublin with lots of tasting!Great food tour of Dublin, even in your own city you can find hidden gems on this tour! Good local guide who really knew the foodie scene in Dublin - plenty of food too!Written 9 September 2024
- travelergreggp0 contributionsNot nearly as good as other food tours that I’ve doneThe tour was okay. There were a couple of good and interesting tastings but overall the choices were uninspired. I’ve done probably ten food/walking tours in different European cities - it’s one of my favorite ways to get oriented in a new city - and this was the least interesting of them all. Also, we walked in circles and figure eights passing through many blocks more than one time.Written 8 September 2024
- leabU1513YW0 contributionsHow to get to know your own city better...I joined Grace-Anne for a fabulous foodie tour in mid august. Having predominantly lived in Dublin most of my life, it was a pleasure to learn I still had more to discover, especially after having been away for so long; so much of this city has changed, so many new businesses to explore! Grace Anne was a consummate guide. I must particularly praise her for her ability to seamlessly contextualise our location based on landmarks attendees would recognise; with all of Dublin's windy streets, it was a lovely way of keeping disorientation at bay, and giving attendees a good sense of what it's like to be a true local. The relationships with the various traders were very clear and positive, and the variety was great. Starting off with a cheese tasting session at Sheridans set a great tone for the day still ahead of us. We had particularly enjoyed the sweet treat we had at Roots, and I could tell my fellow attendees from the US really enjoyed the visit to Fallon & Byrne - having myself been a patron in the past, it was still great to be brought in under the knowledgeable guidance of the Fab Food team. Of course, seeing my sister show off her baking skills at the Pepper Pot was great, but I surely don't want to show favouritism! Everywhere we went, we were met with warmth and enthusiasm, it was a truly great way to spend a couple hours walking through Dublin fair city. The experience gave me a great sense of the flair and philosophy that Fab Food Trails share with their clients; I can't wait to join them again with friends and family. Thank you for such a Fab experience!Written 3 September 2024
- McDoogy0 contributionsExceeded all expectationsLorna tailored our tour for us focusing more on healthy food so we visited a great selection of Dublins top healthy whole food spots and they did not disappoint. We also met some of the business owners and heard more about their background and passion for their food. It made it so interesting as well as tasty! Lorna is a fountain of knowledge and such a great host! The whole day was incredible and 10 X my expectations! I highly recommend! You will love it!Written 25 August 2024

- PeteyK110 contributionsTasty and informative, we loved it!Great Artisan food selection, and a lovely stroll around the city with Lorna. At each stop the shopkeepers have some insight into their produce so it was nice to learn a bit about the food as well as eating it! Tasty and informative, and finished off with Irish whiskey in a traditional bar to warm the cockles, which was the perfect ending!Written 22 April 2024
- 303ver_nicad0 contributionsGreat experience - off the beaten trackThe price may look a bit steep at first, but it is well worth it. Our guide, Brid, was absolutely lovely and knew Dublin like the palm of her hand. We visited 7 different foodie spots for all tastes - among them, an Irish cheesemonger, a Thai restaurant, a quaint coffee shop. Every single place is happy to welcome you, tell you about their history, and give you some delicious products to taste. Some places have been there forever, and some are very new. A definitely great way to see the city from a different point of view. We even had locals joining the tour with us!Written 28 March 2024

- Q5912VNoliviam0 contributionsTasty & GenerousWe had a great food trail in Dublin this month, having had such a good time a year ago. Two friends and I enjoyed really generous tasting portions in the places visited. (I revisited the delicious Seafood place last week, it was so good!) The guide was engaging and informative, my pals visiting from out of town were delighted with this choice of a fun experience in the Capital.Written 25 September 2023

I had a gift voucher that was a few years old so I emailed Fab Food Tours about it. Response was within 30mins and they helped me book my tour and redeem my voucher within the hour. Dave, our guide was very knowledgeable and engaging throughout the tour and had a bit of banter with every member of the tour. The food samples were really tasty and generous. I was very impressed with their efficiency and helpful attitude. I will book again with Fab Food Tours

The tour was really enjoyable with an interesting group of people. It was a gift from a friend, and while I have lived in Cork for some time I discovered new places and experiences. I particularly enjoyed the variety of foods included - that I was not expecting but was great. William was a well-informed guide and very open to sharing his knowledge and is good company.

We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour with William and Anna. The food was very tasty, and the stops were unique, each with an interesting history. Definitely some hidden gems. Best of all we were familiarized with Cork so that we could enjoy our surroundings for the remainder of our stay. William and Anna were personable, incredibly warm and friendly, and also gave us fantastic recommendations. Highly recommended, whether it is your first or fifteenth trip to Cork. Thank you!

As I don't eat sushi or drink beer, one of the stops didn't interest me. There were only three stops that were good, the vegetable one, the scone, and ice cream. We have one stop where you had a taste of goat. I can not eat goat. Our guide confessed that she was a vegetarian and doesn't eat meat. Another stop we went into the shop and left because they were not prepared for us. My guide was aware that I didn't eat sushi but nothing was planned to take its place. I had hoped to go into a pub..didn't happen...We wanted Irish food but she wanted us to see other new food. We did have a small lecture of Irish history. I felt that it was an expensive tour and our first where we didn't enjoy. We have gone on them in Italy, Holland, and France. They were all excellent and made accommodations for food.

Hi Bamberg28,
That is disappointing. We do ask for any dietary requirements about a week before the trail. Unfortunately there is not much our guides can do once the walk has begun as all orders have been tailored for the specific groups. If we had been alerted to your allergies in advance we could have catered for you. Our trails are designed to offer a cross section of both the traditional and contemporary Irish table which does mean fish and delicious cuts of meat that previously would have been overlooked. The fact that the guide was vegetarian is neither here nor there - that is a personal choice and one that doesn't effect the design of our food trails.
Thank you for your review. All feedback is welcome as we put a lot of thought into each and every trail.
