About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- sevaughnc20170 contributionsA great way to spend a day in Ireland. For my visit to Ireland, I was contemplating spending my only day of leisure with the PaddyWagon on the Cliffs of Moher tour or site-seeing throughout Dublin. So happy I decided to tour the Cliffs. Kevin was a great guide, the weather was great and I got to learn so much about the land and the Irish people! Definitely would recommend!Written 10 February 2025
- heathermack200 contributionsLovely Cold DayOur guide was new, so it wasn't as smooth as it could have been. She just needed more practice oral reading. The lunch was great, and the Cliffs were beautiful.Written 19 January 2025
- Denise E0 contributionsPaddywagon Does it Again!Fresh off the Paddywagon ‘Ring of Kerry’ tour yesterday, we just returned from the Cliffs of Moher day tour with Paul as our driver and guide today. These tours will never satisfy every single person because they’re always going to say there’s not enough time to stop, they felt too rushed, they didn’t like the food choices … whatever. For us though, we fully enjoyed the pace of the day, all of the stops, and all of Paul’s stories and information while journeying up to the Cliffs of Moher and back. We saw Limerick, Burren, and Bunratty Castle, to name a few. Of course, the absolute highlight was the Cliffs of Moher and we were lucky that it was mostly clear while we were there (it became heavily overcast right after we left). I would however like to warn anyone that is even remotely prone to motion sickness. This is a fast moving bus on extremely narrow, hilly, and windy roads. A couple of passengers were feeling fairly ill and were given bags in case they felt like they might vomit. I personally was not bothered but I could understand how others might be. We fully enjoyed our day and especially the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher! Thanks again to Paul and Paddywagon Tours!Written 30 October 2024
- cynthiaaD4012JN0 contributionsSeatbelts and stops along the wayOur trip was a wee bit disappointing for two reasons. 1) Our bus had some seatbelt issues and when we mentioned it to the driver we were told that since the bus was going to be replaced so they weren't bothering with fixing the seatbelts. This did not restore our faith in the bus! 2) We felt that the trip was a bit rushed at times...not enough time at each stop. Maybe in the future have less stops which would allow for longer at the ones you do stop at.Written 25 October 2024

- 2021Trip1230 contributionsDon't book this tour from Paddywagon!Bus broke down twice! Once before we got to Blarney Castle at which time the other tour bus had to pick us up to take us to the castle. We broke down again after leaving the castle even though a mechanic had shown up and supposedly fixed the bus. Paddywagon has not replied to our request for a partial refund. Paddywagon did not even send a reply email with their apologies. We got to see Blarney Castle only. The rest of the tour was cancelled and we were returned to port. Would not recommend using this company!!! Paddywagon knew this bus was in poor mechanical condition and sent it out on a tour.Written 2 October 2024
- siobhanl7760 contributionsDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!I was on the paddy wagon tour from Dublin to Giants Causeway. Just after we departed Giants Causeway a tractor hit the bus and blew out every window. Although the tractor was mainly to claim the bus was over the line. After this accident everyone of the 52 was covered in glass. The crash happened at 2.30 and after taking us to a local pub ( where we had to pay for our own food) it took 5.5 hrs for one bus arrived to take half of us and the second didn’t arrived till 9.30!!! We were covered in glass from head to toe. Overall we arrived back at midnight instead of 8pm, and entirely missed one stop promised on the trip. When asked for a refund PaddyWagon refused and failed to take any responsibility for their lack of response following the accident.Written 27 September 2024
- F1476ZUtinab0 contributionsGreat days outBrilliant company, staff friendly and helpful, pick up point very close to hotel ( within a few minutes walk) Tony our driver was careful and considerate. Tim our guide was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. Great places visited , given enough time in each stops to go your own way or just to sit and have a coffee and watch the world go by. The trip to Blarney was well worth it , we arrived early and beat the crowds. A must as it can get very congested and you’ll have to wait in a very long queue to kiss the stone.Written 26 September 2024

- georgiegirlto0 contributionsNever again! Bus ride no commentaryThis was a bus ride It was not a tour. I could’ve booked a bus myself and gone to the locations for a lot cheaper. There was no commentary while we were on the bus explaining the places that we’re going to and some history behind them. I have travelled extensively and been on many chores. This was the first one that the bus driver didn’t speak at all, and there was no other person on the bus giving commentary about the locations we were going to. The bus driver didn’t even know the name of the cathedrals. I really don’t think he likes Ireland that much either as when we went by a castle he said I can slow down if you want to take a picture of a castle but there’s like 30,000 of them in Ireland. Also the tour company should’ve confirmed that the titanic Museum would be available for us if it was closed for private touring that day so we had an hour and a half doing nothing in Cobh as majority of the places were closed early or closed on Tuesday. I wish I could get my money back and I’m not recommending this company with any of my friends were planning on visiting Ireland.Written 24 September 2024
- georgiegirlto0 contributionsJust a bus ride - no guide at allHighly, highly disappointed. We did the Blarney, Cobh and Kinsale. We didn’t have a guide all he said was don’t eat on the bus come back to the parking lot at 12 when we arrived at Larney. This is a tour. This is a bus to take you places and you can get a lot cheaper if you just do it yourself. How is this tour still around and how do they employee people that aren’t Irish can hardly understand them, and they don’t talk at all on the bus they’re not giving you any type of information regarding where you’re going. All of us on the bus, we were thinking the same thing we thought he would be telling us some things about Barney Castle before we get there no nothing at all .Written 24 September 2024
- SAFC190 contributionsGreat dayAmazing day with a great guide. Bryan our guide kept us entertained all day long with his amusing stories. The Ring of Kerry and Killarney tour with Paddywagon Tours was fantastic. They’re punctual, sticking to the schedule at each stop, and the itinerary includes a good balance of sights. And reasonably priced. If you're offered the chance to take the Jaunting Cars tour in Killarney (for an extra fee), definitely go for it! It’s a fun, also reasonably priced experience, though be prepared to pay in cash (around €12-€15 per person).
There are a couple of additional optional costs to keep in mind, like a stop for Irish Coffee (delicious!) and lunch. It’s a full-day tour, so bring your camera and a charger—there are countless photo-worthy moments throughout.
The only drawback was the guide’s commentary. While knowledgeable and personable, he leaned heavily into a nationalistic perspective, frequently referencing historical conflicts with the English and playing patriotic music. While this may resonate with some, it could feel uncomfortable for others, especially international guests like the English couple on our tour. With a bit more balance in tone, this tour would be perfect. Overall, it’s an incredible day of Irish scenery and culture!

My husband and I used Paddywagon to go to the Ring of Kerry and Killarney National Park. The guide, Kevin, was great. He gave some interesting facts about Ireland and the area. The views were excellent. We had a stop for lunch at a restaurant in a village that costs additional along with an optional visit to an open air museum that costs additional as well.

DJs humor added a lot to an already great tour. Just a heads up, since we went on Sunday morning, the McDonald's a very short walk from the tour office seems to have been the only place for coffee before departing cork. The cliffs of moher tour was so busy on the same day that paddywagon tours had to hire in another bus for the ring of kerry, unfortunately the toilet on board hadn't been serviced and smelled something awful, but our guide's warnings were heeded and no one made the mistake of opening it. Just the risk of peak season with record high temperatures I suppose. The jaunting carts at the first stop in Killarney are absolutely worth it, our driver John was a wealth of knowledge and the hour ride was over in what felt like minutes. The national park is absolutely on our list to return and explore further. Several great stops along the trip with plenty of opportunities for food, coffee, and shopping. We had the fish and chips and the beef and Guinness stew at the lobster bar in Waterville. The food was great by any standard, but especially for a "cafeteria" style of serving that had food out very quickly. The beauty of this area cannot be overstated, the high point overlooking the ocean was a gorgeous stop. We stayed a short while in Sneem where many folks grabbed ice cream and souvenirs. We took the time to watch some of the all Ireland hurling finals with a shopkeeper. I would absolutely recommend this tour for anyone interested in the beauty and history of Ireland. It also convinced us to return to the area for a much more focused trip in the future.

Our tour guide Brian was very mean and nasty to the guests. He wouldn’t allow us to speak to each other on the bus or he said wouldn’t tell us anything else for the tour. One passenger got the point of asking was he ever a teacher because he was treating us all like children the entire day. He refused to help me with putting my moms wheelchair under storage and because of this, he didn’t notice when he opened the under storage door that the wheelchair was stuck. When I went to shift the wheelchair, the door fell on me, injuring my leg and smashing my arm. Even then, Brian did not help. Another passenger had to yell at him to open the door to release my arm. Another paggywagon tour guide nearby laughed, insisting I was drunk. Neither Brian nor the other guide stepped in neither to help nor did he apologize for me getting hurt.
Besides this poor experience, the actual tour itself was not what we paid for. Brian seemed to want to go home early for the day, so we only got 40 minutes in Killarney town center. This gave you about enough time to sprint to one thing you could see and sprint back. Only 5 people in our tour actually made it to the town center and they were all sweating and panting when they returned. Despite not getting to see this, we kept on with the tour to find out we would not see half of the sites listed in the itinerary. Brian decided to drive past dingle bay because he didn’t like how many cars were parked so we missed the entirety of the experience. I sincerely wished I had just drove myself and my mom, and we could’ve enjoyed the day much more. Within one hour of the tour I noted this and even took it as far as to research the cost of an Uber back to our car in cork to drive ourselves back. We were undeniably displeased with this experience and I would highly recommend just driving yourself through and reading the signs of information as you go. Trust me you’d have a better day. I don’t know how this company was awarded anything, by far one of the worst tours I’ve been on. Spare yourself the bad day. Brian should find a new job, something he actually enjoys. Because people and touring just isn’t his calling.

I was booked onto the Ring of Kerry tour from Cork. I wished I hadn’t. Absolutely waste of a full day. The weather was the biggest dampener of it all.
Our driver was friendly and likeable, but the problem was he spoke only broken English and not many people on the bus understood him when he was pointing things out over the speaker. It felt like he’d learned a script rather than doing tour guiding.
Our first stop was Killarney, a very touristy town that seemed really nice. We had about 50 minutes to look around and be back at the bus for 10:55 - only downside, most of the shops didn’t open until 11:00 so we got a good look at some hotels and closed shop windows.
The 2nd stop was the Kerry Bog village - quite an interesting open air museum showing an old Irish village and history about the famine. I enjoyed this, although it was an extra €7 to get inside. I will give that museum a 5* though as it is worth seeing if you enjoy history.
The weather was now really bad. The view points and scenery were just white mist. Nobody was even getting off the bus, except one man who gave us all something to laugh at. Apparently there were some islands in the bay with spectacular views of county cork but we just had to go off the drivers description, which wasn’t very clear.
We tried a national park and that was the same. It was heavy rain and nothing could be seen.
To round up the farce even more, we arrived at a waterfall in the woods that were were promised we’d be able to see…at 5pm and it was too dark to see anything let alone get photos. The driver then drove away and left 3 people behind because he hadn’t checked if everyone was back on the bus. He blamed it on the darkness. Luckily another passenger had shouted that they thought some people were missing. The driver then let them board and drove away again, still not counting people. I assume we got back with everyone as he hadn’t checked.
The trip was a day of sitting on a half full steamed up bus of miserable people.
I know the weather can’t be helped, and this is Ireland in November, but it’s how they deal with it. I paid €59 for this trip.
I still have another day in Cork with no plans - I emailed the booking office on Cork to see if there was any chance I could get transferred onto the next day as weather was looking brighter and it’s a quiet time of year for them. I’ll happily update my review if they reply - wither with upgrading my review to mention that they are an amazing tour company that genuinely want to give their customers the best experience and offer features of goodwill, or that they’ll just say “no, you booked for this specific day so here’s the small print - tough luck.” If you’re reading this, it will be the latter.

Lots of fabulous views and a good overview of the area. Our driver/ guide John was amusing, but his demeanour and communication were not to everyone's taste. He was very accommodating with a young girl who was sick very early on in the trip and did everything he could to make her more comfortable. (If you suffer from motion sickness, you may want to take some medication beforehand, as the speed and narrow, winding roads can be challenging). We would have liked a bit more clarity going into the day as to where we would stop and for how long, as the itinerary seems "flexible". Sometimes "a view of" means that you see it way in the distance out of the bus window going 100, and sometimes it means a 20 minute stop. We would have preferred to not spend valuable time at an "Irish Coffee hotspot" (which reeked of a kickback scheme) and have had more time to explore some of the towns and park. When visiting Killarney Park, there is an optional horse and wagon" jaunting tour" (15 euros per person cash only, and likely another kickback scheme) if you want to see much of the park. They will squeeze as many people as possible into each cart, so the poor horse will have its work cut out for it. The cart driver was very helpful with answering questions and giving some info about the park and what we were viewing. It is very lush and beautiful, but there isn’t a whole lot to see other than greenery, lakes, the odd deer and a very distant castle ruin. It is lovely and we enjoyed it, but it meant we had no time to see the town or park on our own.
So the trip itself was worth it to see this part of the country as I would never want to drive it on our own, but I think the tour company and driver/guide lack a bit of the transparency and professionalism that we enjoyed with other tour companies that we used in Ireland.

The sites were great but the bus’s seatbelt was not well installed and difficult to use. The tour guide was not great at speaking for example said the wrong time to get back, and told us to go to where we were dropped off after going on the horse ride which is around 4 blocks away give or take, which isn’t smart because people could’ve gotten lost my recommendation is to have the buss drive to the horse ride location to drop off and pick up.
everyone on the bus wasn’t sure where to go for getting picked up, I recommend fixing or getting a new intercoms to fix some of the hearing problems. Finally I think both employees should get a bit more improvement mentally because the tour guide was stressed and overwhelmed when the issue started happening which is understandable, the bus driver seemed a bit tense and rude but it could be that he woke up wrong but it doesn’t exclude his tone and and attitude. Finally I think the tour guide needs better information on where they are, where the bus is picking people up, and when the bus gets there as well as the bus driver to know when to pick us up, where to go and info of where they are.

**Paddy Wagon Tours – Ring of Kerry Tour Review**
I cannot recommend Paddy Wagon Tours enough for their incredible Ring of Kerry tour! Our guide, Kevin, was nothing short of extraordinary. From start to finish, he made the experience fun, engaging, and truly unforgettable.
Kevin’s knowledge of the history and culture of the areas we toured was remarkable. He shared fascinating stories and insights that brought the stunning landscapes to life. His enthusiasm was contagious, and his humor kept the group entertained throughout the day.
Beyond his expertise, Kevin went above and beyond to ensure everyone in the group had a great time. His energy, professionalism, and genuine passion for what he does are unmatched.
If I could, I would request Kevin as my tour guide for every single tour I take for the rest of my life. He truly set a new standard for what a guided tour can be. Thank you, Kevin, and thank you, Paddy Wagon Tours, for an incredible experience! I can’t wait to book my next adventure with you.

We did a nice day trip today. The bus left on time. Killarney National Park was beautiful with the carriage, but you were crammed very close together, which made taking pictures quite difficult!
Many stops where you are led into a tourist trap: Kerry bog Village: 14 euros per person for the museum and an Irish coffee. Then we were dropped off in Waterville at a restaurant with a buffet, we went to eat somewhere else, but you were almost led inside. In Sneem an ice cream and a trip to the toilet at the back of a souvenir shop, but hardly any time for the surroundings. Beautiful views in between and plenty of time! The waterfall was also beautiful. So in terms of sightseeing you really see a lot in 1 day and it is worth it.
A big drawback for me was that the guide (who knew a lot) kept talking or playing music at a loud level, so you couldn't actually sit quietly for a while. That wasn't necessary for me, it's nice to look outside every now and then, but that's my personal preference.

There was an option for a additional horse and cart tour which brought you around Killarney national park. This was brillant(the guide was witty, funny, informative and showed a genuine interest in the people taking the tour).
This tour albeit long is also very good and very busy with 64 people on the coach that day, the coach driver John showed us all his local knowledge about the area. He informed us about the environment, the history, the sociological determinants of population on the area. I was tempted to rent a car and drive around the ring of Kerry- however I’m glad I got this tour instead.

Is there transportation from the port to the starting point of the excursion?
Written 8 March 2023
The pickup we experienced was from the street near their office in cork city center but you can ask them directly if they are able to accommodate

Unfortunately not. But there are plenty of stops for sightseeing and using the toilet. Eating etc. The driver was extremely accomadating

Hi, are there any COVID requirements for the tour? We are coming from the US in April; negative test, vaccination card, etc?

Do they have a parking lot where the tour starts?
Written 26 January 2020
The Paddywagons Bridge office is situated on a very busy street corner, and certainly no day parking in the adjoining streets. Suggest you download a city centre map and find where the nearest official car parks are situated. Not far to walk from the main street across the river. Office is right opposite the main bridge.

We're be there August 2nd do we need to buy tickets ahead of time

We booked off a Cruise ship so they had space reserved for this tour and others. It would be better to book in advance but you likely would still be able to get on a tour just prior to your arrival.
