Great free walking tour of Ennis
I did the Ennis Free Walking Tour with Jess Dagnall and she was amazing. Even though she is new in this kind of business, she was really great, knowledgeable, very pleasant and a good person to walk with. This tour with her was fantastic. Her stories of Ennis were fascinating and so interesting. I would recommend taking the time to tour Ennis with Jess if you have the chance.

    Wonderful tour of lovely town
Jane explores the nooks, crannies and history of this lovely town in County Clare during her tour. We explored the architecture, the town's development and Irish political history during the tour. Well worth the time.

Engaging, educational tour enriched our experience of the town of Ennis.
Jane has a deep knowledge and love of the town of Ennis. Streets, boways, buildings and people came to life as she shared their history and stories. Jane’s sense of humor and her engaging spirit were captivating and our time together flew by too quickly! We didn’t book soon enough to do the public tour at the beginning of our stay in Ennis, but Jane kindly added us to a private tour as soon as she could. Our remaining days is town were enriched by what we learned during our time with Jane and by the lingering memory of her warmth. Book early!

    Perfect walking tour of Ennis
Dr. Jane O'Brien was a wonderful find for our small group of friends. Already part of a larger tour of Ireland, we decided to add this walking tour of Ennis to our schedule. Dr. O'Brien is a well-known local who is an historian and had just the right amount of culture, history, and humor woven into her tour. So many back stories for this beautiful little town, and Dr. O'Brien knew them all. I highly recommend booking either a public or private tour with Jane!

    Great Introduction to Ennis
Jane was wonderful. Prompt and ready to go when we arrived for our tour. We learned so much about the small town of Ennis. She pointed out historical buildings, gave us information about the town and was able to recommend places to shop and eat. We really enoyed our time with her.

Ennis historical tour not be be missed!
Jane provided an in-depth as well as entertaining tour of Ennis. Our group of 8-10 had a enjoyable time around the downtown area with Jane stopping us at particularly historical locations. Her extensive knowledge of Irish history woven in with Ennis history was particularly important. Any visitor to Ennis would benefit from taking this tour!

Very interesting historical tour of Ennis that included food tasting of historical and local items. E.g. mead, blood pudding, cheese! It was a great way to start our vacation in Ireland

    The Perfect Introduction to Ennis
Ennis is a charming town with lots of stories to tell, and there is no better way to get a close-up and intimate introduction to it than with a walking tour with Dr O'Brien. If you can book her on the first day of your stay (she keeps the group size small), do so, because she will open your eyes and make your subsequent strolls through the village even more rewarding.

    Definitely recommend!!
Jane was there to meet us on time, was super knowledgeable and friendly. We loved her recollection of stories and legends. It was an hour tour for our family of 4. I’d definitely recommend, as this tour is for Ennis but also has stories of Ireland overall.

Looking for a true historian, this is your tour!
Dr. Jane O'Brian was such a wonderful professional who went out of her way to make us feel comfortable! She shared her extensive knowledge of the town and its rich history. The walk itself was easy and she was respectful of the group as some of us walked a bit slow. Stories she shared illustrated the depth of her knowledge of Ennis. I would definitely recommend this tour!!

This walking tour was part of my group’s multi-day trip to the West of Ireland. We had just arrived in Ennis and Jane did a great job walking us through Ennis, giving us historical and social background, and orienting us to the twisting streets of this charming town, all while dealing with a cloudburst. Recommended.

There's visiting Ennis and then there's getting to know Ennis. Jane's guided walking tour was a wonderfully engaging and informative experience. Instead of rattling off dates and information, she shared the history of Ennis through many memorable stories. I've been on many guided walking tours and this one was a real gem. I highly recommend it!

Taking this short tour brings Ennis alive! Walking the narrow streets, peering into the nooks and bows, (you'll discover what a 'bow' is!), we were charmed entertained, and awakened to the local history of Ennis. The Jacobean triple chimney stack stands out - I've never seen one before!
Our guide Jane is a relaxed, friendly, very well informed guide. There were about 16 people on the tour. We could all see and hear everything. She had a very efficient microphone system. Do not leave Ennis without taking this tour! I adored it!

My ancestors were from rural County Clare and I was keen to see and learn more of the market town that would have played an important part in their lives. After visiting the Clare Museum, we met Jane in the courtyard outside and embarked on a walking tour covering landmarks and history from the medieval O’Briens through to present day events. Jane is a qualified historian and very personable. I ended the tour with a good understanding of the history, culture, society and economy of the town and how it would have shaped my ancestor’s lives. I’m so grateful to Jane for sharing her knowledge and time with us and I highly recommend her to you.

I recently moved to Ennis a month ago and I decided to check out any tours around Ennis and I came across the Ennis Walking tours by Jane O'Brien. I was lucky to have a one on one tour with her, therefore I felt like the tour was very relaxed and I found Jane extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. She took on all the questions I threw at her, thus I found the tour detailed and simply amazing. I would highly recommend taking this tour if you ever find yourself in Ennis. It is definitely worth it!

Really recommend this tour of Ennis which we did on 14 June 2021. It takes one hour. Jane is a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide who conveys a great sense of the lives of the people of Ennis though the ages and of how the past remains embedded in the streets of Ennis today. Very enjoyable way to gain a deeper sense of the medieval town of Inis. Enjoy!

We took Jane's tour after being in Ennis for several days and were amazed to discover parts of the town that we hadn't yet explored. Jane told fascinating stories, really engaged with our group, which included several children, and was able to answer every question we had. Her account of the town's growth helped us to understand our family's roots in Ennis in the context of Irish history. Highly recommended!

Jane is so knowledgeable and friendly. We learned about the buildings, the people, the history of the town and the street art. Afterwards we were able to return to some of the places we'd learned about and explore more in depth. It made our visit to Ennis so much richer. I highly recommend this activity.
