Stuart Usher meetings to life three history of Edinburgh in a rich and entertaining way.
Edinburgh is a stunning city with a colourful and vibrant city. It's history it's even more eventful with twist and turns that traverse politics, religion, philosophy and art.
Stuart has the facts, the figures, the dates, in fact all that you'd expect from a guided tour, but he does it with wit, charm and an edge of mischievous humour.
If you are going to do a tour, Stuart is the man; or Gentleman for the job.
Thank you Stuart. James and Sharon

Fountain of knowledge
Sep 2020
An excellent way to learn about the history of Edinburgh. Stuart is extremely knowledgeable whilst also being very friendly and easy going. He informs without lecturing and is so relaxed that you do not realise that you have just spent over three hours walking the streets of this great city.
We have no hesitation in recommending Stuart Usher to guide you around Edinburgh and can only advise that you do it at the beginning of your holiday to improve your awareness of the city for the remainder of your stay.

Dear Peter and Jane Thank you very much for your marvellous Review. I recall you both well and that I enjoyed both your companies very much indeed. I am sure that you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Edinburgh to the hilt and also that you tried some of my suggestions as to what to visit. I do hope that you went to Surgeons Hall as well. This Hall was the final destination of the infamous Burke and Hare's victims! You must visit our fair city again some day. We would be delighted to host you again. Best wishes Stuart U

Wonderful!
Feb 2020
Stuart kindly offered to take myself and our colleagues on short walking tours at some of the most historic sights right on our doorstep! We enjoyed getting some fresh air and learning about the rich history our home city has to offer, albeit being a little/very windy and rainy at times! With some warm clothing and a positive attitude, we braved the elements and had a great time! Stuart has completely inspired us all to look up and around us more often and appreciate both the history and architecture Edinburgh exudes.

Dear Nicole Thank you so much for your marvellous Review. You can say that again about the rotten weather., Phew! I also enjoyed the bracing walks up Calton Hill and the good company of your staff. We all learnt a lot and had a good laugh at the same time. Nicole, you are more than welcome to contact us again for more walks with your excellent and cheerful staff. Best wishes Stuart U

History on the hoof
Dec 2019 • Family
We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tour with Stuart Usher. Stuart’s wide-ranging insights into life in Edinburgh over the last millennium even succeeded in captivating the 16-year-old! A wonderful glimpse of the architecture of the old, new and new new towns, accompanied by a history of the key events that shaped the city and the people. Punctuated with a hot drink and the story of Deacon Brodie, the real-life inspiration for Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde. Thank you, Stuart!

Dear Chaylee Many thanks for your superlative Review of our most enjoyable Tour together. I am also delighted that your 16 yo also really enjoyed it. You and Jack must be so proud of your three most beautiful daughters. You got a bit cold but actually you can thank your lucky stars that it was not at all cold for this time of year in Edinburgh! I very much enjoyed ALL your companies and the searching questions you ALL asked. You really must come again to Edinburgh. Best wishes Stuart U.

One of our best tours yet!
Sep 2019
We shared a half day tour with Stuart Usher that was one of our most memorable experiences of our 25 day UK trip. My husband had injured his leg just a couple of days prior to our Edinburgh arrival, so Stuart met us at our hotel to make it easier for us. Then, taking into consideration my husband's limitations, took us on a remarkable tour of the Royal Mile area of Edinburgh. We went to many fascinating spots that were not usual tourist stops including where Adam Smith and Benjamin Franklin used to meet and debate, interesting spots and vignettes tied to King George, pointing out architectural features we would not have noticed on our own, and giving us a fascinating history lesson. Stuart was so comfortable to be with and you knew he loved his city - so knowledgeable. After 3+ hrs, my husband's knee required we stop, but I think Stuart was disappointed that we didn't get to all his favorite places. His energy at 70+ is amazing! Thanks Stuart. When we come back, we'll definitely take up where we left off!

Dear VicPolly Many thanks for your top-notch Review of your Tour with me. Despite my taking Tours on a daily basis I still always really enjoy telling my Clients about the many interesting and great men of the city in centuries past. Men like David Hume, Adam Smith, James Boswell and many, many others who really were the ones who made Edinburgh so famous. The Clients also love to hear about these great beings. Unfortunately King George the Fourth appears to have had a somewhat restricted mindset and made little contribution for the advancement and well being of human beings. His constant pursuit of the ladies are amusing to look back on. He certainly would not fit in too well in this modern world we now live in! I hope your husband's leg is fully recovered by now and that you all enjoyed the rest of your time in Edinbugh and the UK Best wishes and we hope to see you again someday.. Stuart U.
