Marie was fantastic! She was a great guide, very knowledgeable and lovely personality. She was also very mindful of our safety on the entire tour.

My daughter and I did the Hidden and Haunted Tour adults only. Be mindful adults only does not mean the stories will be more graphic or frightening, there are simply no children. Our guide, Marc, was a wonderful story teller and we enjoyed listening to him speak. However, the tour itself was fairly mundane. The group met and we stood for 15+ minutes and listened to the first monologue. Then we walked a few more minutes, stopped, and listened to our next monologue. Finally we proceeded to the underground and while interesting we had expected more of the dungeons. The company was very nice and the headsets were fantastic.

Linda's history tour was amazing! Informative and hilarious, she brought Edinburgh's past to life with her background and stories. Very highly recommended

Our tour guide Linda was fantastic, very knowledgeable with a great sense of humour. We were a group of 4 and all agreed this was our favourite tour of our 3 night stay. Well organised with clear meeting instructions. Very interesting to hear all about the history of the vaults. When we return to Edinburgh we would definitely book a tour through them again.

Fantastic storystelling from our guide! A nice peak into dark history, and this was a really good tour if you're into ghost stories. Personally I went into it expecting something different, but that was a fault on my part as we were actually looking for the Real Marys King Close. Either way, this was an enjoyable evening out and I really appreciated our guide.

We had a wonderful evening. Our guide Sarah was an amazing storyteller and she frequently send shivers down our spines. We also enjoyed the tour through the vaults ans especially the glass of whiskey at the end for comfort. Very recommendable.

This is a great way to learn about Edinburgh’s history, and also the geology. I found it very interesting and Roger was very knowledgeable with dates and names. I really enjoyed it.

My husband and I recently took a historical tour of the underground vaults with Mercat Tours, and it was honestly the highlight of our trip! Our guide, Linda, was exceptional; friendly, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. She brought the fascinating history of the vaults to life with her storytelling. We can't recommend Mercat Tours - and Linda in particular - highly enough. A must-do for anyone visiting the city!

Martin was the best guide that we could have ever asked for. Despite the group only being my husband and myself, which honestly we loved! Martin was an amazing guide. He answered all of our questions and told us countless interesting facts along the way. When we got into the cellars, my husband heard a loud noise, come to find out it was one of the ghosts in the cellars. Martin will tell you which one it was and all about that specific ghost. While having our drinks at the end, Martin told us more stories and answered more questions that we had. Both my husband and myself wished that we booked this tour on the first night. We will defiantly be coming back to Edinburgh and booking a few more tours here. We did not know there were certain ones that are more child friendly, which was the one we went on. Needless to say, Martin is the absolute best guide that we could have ever asked for! He made this experience one that we will never forget!

Excellent tour of the history and ghost is the area. We visited the underground and she explained the areas. Overall is way a good time.

Shout out to Linda and the team who were friendly and fun and created a fab experience. This was as much a history tour as ghost tour and was part overground. It was good to see the The vaults and it was made way to imagine life underground with Linda’s portrayal of the stories and characters . I still don’t believe in ghost though !

We did the Treasures of the Old Town tour with Stefanie and it was incredible. I have lived in Edinburgh since 2013 (and visited the city since 2005) and I learnt so much stuff. Stefanie is a fantastic storyteller and great at uncovering details and local stories. I'd recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about the lesser known stories that make Edinburgh such an interesting place.

Sat 30th November. Tour was fantastic Anastasia was our tour guide and she made it. The Blair Vaults were brilliant to visit. Highly recommend
