JP was the Best! get JP as your driver and guide, 10 out of 10 would highly recommend!
We had a lovely time on our journey to St. Andrews. We appreciated the little stops along the way to break up the trip. JP had the best Dad jokes and puns, I'm still looking for that Unicorn JP! He also was very knowledgeable about the towns we visited, were surprised to learn about Johnny Cash Connection in a town we were driving through. He also pointed out the best place to get ice cream and lunch. If you can get JP as your driver and guide, 10 out of 10 would highly recommend!

      Scotland loves its history
It just seems like Scotland has a different style tour than I have been on before. There is a lot of history there and they focus on it to the degree that you feel like you are in a high school history course of some sort where no one is listening and no one cares that no one is listening lol. On our particular journey while the guide was certainly nice. He faced forward the entire time and just gave a spiel did not really engage us whatsoever. The only way I know how to describe it is like being on a trail horse of sorts. They know the route they know what they have to do to get back and that’s kind of how this felt. The locations that we went to, however, were wonderful and definitely worth seeing. I just would not get too caught up in the tour guide aspect of it.

      Jam-packed tour of the Highlands
Wonderful tour of the Highlands with Lizzie aka the Greatest Tour Guide of All Time. We saw incredible sights, heard lots of interesting histories, listened to music by local artists, and enjoyed unparalleled weather. Lizzie is so knowledgeable and very kind and thoughtful. She made sure everyone was having a good experience (including dropping some travelers at the station in Perth so they could get to Glasgow directly instead of coming all the way back to Edinburgh). We wished she could be our guide for the rest of our stay in Scotland. Also I was very impressed by Rabbie’s care for this country, as I noticed multiple Rabbies guides picking up litter at our various stops. The first and third days of the tour are long, with many hours in the car but Lizzie’s stories and histories made it time well-spent. Highly recommend!

Perfect day on the Isle of Sky
We booked the 1 day tour from Inverness to the Isle of Sky and Eilean Donan castle. It was amazing, took some amazing photos and our guide, Graham was really nice and made the day unforgettable.

      Great Tour for Outlander Fans
If you are an outlander fan, you will really enjoy this tour! We got to see three castles (Lalybrach!), a palace, and we visited the town where Gillis Duncan lived. Our tour guide wasn’t Scottish, which was the only disappointment.

Good value to see a lot of sites in the Highlands
Our driver, Des, shared a lot of interesting history about the places we visited during the tour. I was amazed at the number of sites we got to see during the 1 day tour -- multiple stops by lakes, castles, and farms to see sheep and hairy coos. The bus was comfortable with room to store backpacks and bags. If you're not planning to venture out of Edinburgh, this tour is a great option to experience the Highlands.

Enjoyable tour with a great tour guide!
Our tour guide Gregor was enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Scottish history and I enjoyed listening to him. He also played very good Scottish music on the bus between points which I enjoyed. It was a beautiful day and each stop was a delight. I highly recommend this tour which was the best of three I took this week.

      Get on Lizzie’s Tour!
Lizzie was our tour guide and made the trip extra special! She is an absolute history buff and told us entertaining stories about the clans and areas that we were passing through and visiting, as well as having a playlist of songs related to the people, places and historic events she told us about. She taught us some Scottish Gaelic, and had curated stops that aligned with our interests (like folklore and hiking). The small group size was awesome and we all felt like friends by the end of our 3 day tour. Would do it again!

THE Way to tour the Scottish Highlands
There is almost no way to really describe this tour. The Scottish Highlands must be experienced to be believed. The different sceneries and sites are almost beyond words. If you have ever thought about touring the northern areas of Scotland, don't hesitate - go! And when you do, we highly recommend Bruce M of Rabbi's Tours. His extensive knowledge and warm humor were the "icing on the cake" for this vacation. He and his company were also flexible and very safety conscious, which just made the trip enjoyable and worry-free. We highly recommend this trip!

      Outlander 1 day Edinburgh
We would love to provide a review for our tour guide Laurie who we had on 5-14-24 out of Edinburgh for the full day outlander tour. Not only was she sweet, she was very easy to talk to and shared so much information on every location we arrived at. She was very knowledgeable on the history of the area and the historical sites we were at, along with the Outlander filming information. We truly enjoyed her and the stories! Thank you Laurie for making our vacation memorable! Xoxo Pam & Andreah

      Fantastic day tour
We had Stuart as our guide, and he was fantastic -- we learned so much from him about Scotland's history and culture. The scenery on this trip was amazing, and Inverary Castle was a great place to visit. As a Python fan, the visit to Doune Castle was the best!

      Fantastic guide, relaxing day
Our guide Ally P. was fantastic, a wealth of information - both historical and current entertainment knowledge related to the area. This was not my first choice in tour location but my first 2 choices were sold out (so book early). I was still extremely happy with the tour. Rosslyn Chapel was beautiful and the drive thru the Scottish border towns was beautiful. The view from Scott’s Viewpoint was a highlight after being in the city of Edinburgh for the previous 3 days.

Our tour was so very interesting and beautiful. Our guide, Stuart, was amazing! We learned so much about Scotland: History, culture, climate, geography, music, city rivalries, and more. Stuart conveyed all of this with humor and a wonderful speaking voice. The route included beautiful scenery, ample opportunities to use the loo, take photos, and stretch our legs. A great day in Scotland!

      Winning the Tour Guide Lottery
I just completed a 10 Day tour with Rabbies, which was a combination of two of their tours. The tour was the 10 Orkney and Outer Hebrides. Being two different tours, I had two guides and switched buses in between. First, I won the tour guide lottery with Billy for part 1 and Keith for part 2. They both shared so much information and knowledge of Scotland, played great music, and went out of their way to offer unique experiences. I think everyone had a blast!! Switching tours in between was a breeze and thanks to my wonderful tour guides, I was able to join in another Rabbies tour on my "free" day in between. This part of Scotland was beyond my expectations and so beautiful. I cannot wait to go back and hope to do more Rabbie's tours in the future.

I have done hundreds of day tours all over the world and this is by far the worst. The driver was fine and he did provide some interesting commentary BUT you spend approximately 12 hours driving, half of which is in the dark. It didn’t help that it poured rain all day but that is beside the point. We stopped to take a picture of a mountain and another of a small waterfall. We then got to Loch Ness, the highlight of the trip, and the boat was sold out. There was not much else to do besides have lunch and do a little shopping. I did see the boat departing the dock and it was jammed pack full of people...and I mean jammed packed. We then drove another 4.5 hours home in the dark with a couple of toilet/shopping stops through the highlands.

This tour should NOT be offered in the winter. This company is making a grab for money from unsuspecting tourists. It is unethical. Granted, I should have thought more about the number of hours of daylight before I booked the excursion but I was certainly under the impression that there we would be MUCH more to see and do.

Don’t waste your time! Rabbies and other agencies offering similar trips, stop being so greedy.

Thank you for your feedback, We're glad that you enjoyed the commentary but we are sorry to hear the tour did not meet your expectations. Our Loch Ness tour covers approximately 300 miles in a day Typically, there will be around 8.5 hours of driving time in total, allowing for around 3.5 hours off the bus over the course of the day. It is a lot of time on the bus, but that's unavoidable with the chosen route and the mileage involved. It is not the best choice for everybody and we try our best to make it clear what is involved so as not to disappoint anyone. If you had longer we also have longer tours such as our 2 day tour to Inverness which covers a similar route but at a more leisurely pace with longer stops. Alternatively we have many shorter 1 day tours which visit other parts of Scotland (that are just as beautiful!) and not quite so far, this may have been a better option for you. I understand not being able to join the boat cruise may have been disappointing, and although you can do this during your time at Fort Augustus this is not something we guarantee. The last few days have been unexpectedly very busy due to the Christmas and New year Holidays however I do hope you enjoyed the scenery and a short walk around the shores of Loch Ness instead. We know that the daylight hours are shorter here in Scotland at this time of year, so we try to get all the highlights in before it gets dark. From your feedback I cannot confirm which day and tour you travelled on, if you would like to discuss this further please get in touch with us directly at tours@rabbies.com Kind regards, Jules

Do not hesitate - book this tour! Gives a nice little overview of the Scottish Highlands in one day, and although it is a big day, it's well worth it. The tour was well timed and never felt rushed or as if we were waiting around forever for the bus to leave. The scenery is next level - especially Glencoe which is just INSANE (I'm a geologist and have been privileged enough to see some beautiful sights here and there, but this takes the cake!) The only negative was that we didn't get to spend longer there!

We had Nick A as our guide - from his commentary/ acting as photographer/music choices to 'match' the destination/just general kindness throughout the day, he was outstanding, and you definitely can't go wrong having him as your guide!

Was a bit skeptical doing this in November (as the days are short and this time of year is not known for the weather), but we were very lucky and had a beautiful sunny day! I don't think it would have been a problem if the weather was yuck though, as the guides are great and obviously know what they are doing!
Will 100% be using Rabbies again when we come back to Scotland. A+++

This tour is by far one of the best ways to more of Scotland than just the city. Our driver and tour guide Grant was very knowledge about history and was great at interacting with all on the bus. While I knew the tour was 12 hours, as the day progress it sometimes seems longer, so be prepared for that. One of the highlights of the tour for me was that we ran into snow a few times during the trip, and watching it come across the mountains. One thing I really wish this tour did was spend more time in Lock Ness, or even stop at other villages like Fort William along the way for travelers to explore. While I would not book this tour again, I will say that I was able to note many towns and villages I plan to explore on my next trip. This trip would be great for someone who only has short time in Scotland, but I would not recommend taking children on this tour.

Went on the 1 day tour of the Highlands with my husband today. We had Duncan as our tour guide. He was brilliant! Good music and brilliant stories. Even though we were wrecked tired he managed to keep us alert and entertained with tales of Scottish history between stops. Only thing is I would recommend bringing a packed lunch before hand and make sure you have a 50p for the 1st stop toilet 😂. The Loch ness boat trip is worth doing some nice sights. We saw the 3 sisters mountains too, amazing. While it was raining a bit and wasn't so clear, I would still recommend it and on a clear day I'd say it would be unreal!

Went on this 12 hour scenic tour with my wife and daughter on 7th July with Mahri as our driver and guide. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the minibus was only full to half capacity and so there was a total of 8 passengers, well spaced out in our 4 separate groups. Beautiful scenery, lovely sunny day and the "Covid bonus" of uncrowded locations due to the absence of large groups of foreign tourists. We found Mahri to be a very pleasant, helpful and enthusiastic guide, who gave excellent, concise reviews of the history of various places of interest. Get ready to sing "I'm Gonna Be (500 miles)" by the Proclaimers as the excursion nears it's end! All in all, a wonderful, enjoyable day that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!
P.S. We had booked Howies Restaurant (Waterloo Place) which is literally just a few yards away from the drop-off point at the end of the tour! We would recommend this restaurant too.

Kevin was a fantastic tour guide. The right mix of fun facts, useful information, and a good music playlist. :) We were pleasantly surprised at the added number of stops during the day for photos, stretching legs, etc. We would definitely recommend this tour to everyone. We only had 2 days in Edinburgh and this was 1 of them. Communication was great with Rabbie's, the touring van was comfortable, and the price was well worth it.

This tour has been the highlight of our UK tour thus far!! Grant's knowledge, wit and ability to engage the whole group was sensational. He exceeded expectations by doing the tour in reverse giving us the BEST photo opportunities with more sunlight, especially at Ben Nevis. This is one trip I will remember and talk about for a very long time!! So thank you Grant 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Overall, my son, husband, and I enjoyed this day tremendously. The scenery was amazing, the commentary from Dave was informative, and the stops, especially in Glencoe, were breathtaking. We had two hiccups that I think are worth mentioning as they might help future patrons of this tour. First, the email information said to arrive at 7:45 AM for an 8:00 AM departure. We were at Rabbie's cafe by the required time, but the bus was already loaded so the three of us had to sit separately for the entire day. It would have been nice if our driver would have assisted in reorganizing some of the seating so we could have tried to sit together, or waiting to actually load the bus once everyone was there.

In Loch Ness, we opted to do the cruise (I don't recommend this add-on, by the way; not much to it at all), and Dave told us that we could order take-away food for the trip. We went into a cafe and ordered three sandwiches, but when we tried to take them onto the boat, we were told that hot food was not allowed on board. That wasn't posted anywhere and we just had three panini's well-wrapped so we didn't see what the issue was, but we still had to wolf them down before boarding the boat, which meant we were the last on board and again didn't get good seats!

So be sure to arrive well before 7:45 to sit together, and if you do the Loch Ness cruise, be sure not to take hot sandwiches with you!

Otherwise, we enjoyed this excursion very much.

Thank you Henry for such an enjoyable journey! He is both very knowledgable and very good at communication. He told great stories on basically every spot, that I feel like the guide itself is even better than the views in Scottish highlands.

We have had great exchanges of ideas and culture that I find myself knowing much more about Scotland and even other places that he has been after the tour.
