This was my first visit to Newcastle and this tour was the perfect way to find out a lot about the city in a short time. Alex had a vast knowledge of history and his enthusiasm for this wonderful city certainly came across. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to a visitor like me or someone who lives in the city as it was so interesting and great fun.

Having never spent more than half a day in the city previously, we thought a walking tour would be a great introduction to this wonderful place. We read the reviews of the tour beforehand and were really pleased that we chose it. Alex is a brilliant guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about the lovely city of Newcastle and generally an all round nice guy. I inadvertently booked the wrong date for the tour originally and Alex was very accommodating in changing it to the right day. If we ever come back we would definitely book one of his tours, he does about 12 different ones. Thanks again Alex

We did the Newcastle History Tour.

Fascinating tales mixed with viewing of some glorious architecture.

Alex Iles, the guide, is punctual, extremely knowledgeable, passionate about his work and good company.

The two hours for the tour is just about the right length - not too short but not tedious either.

Highly recommended, especially as an introduction to Newcastle for first time visitors.

Thanks Alex we had a great time on your Newcastle tour, I hadn't realised just how much I didn't know about my home town and the views from the top of Grey's Monument were amazing. And Lord Grey was so much more than just the tea bloke... who knew! Lovely informative tour, relaxed and friendly

My friend and I really enjoyed the walking tour. Alex is a font of knowledge and was so knowledgeable about the city and its history. It's a great orientation tour and the following day we were able to revisit some of the tour stops, walking across the Tyne Bridge and back over the Millenium Bridge and finally visiting the castle. Well done Alex on the tour route and thank you.

Alexander was our guide. He is so knowledgeable on European history especially of Newcastle, a city he truly loves. His shared his knowledge and love of Newcastle with enthusiasm and humor. He was frequently greeted by locals as he is also a local. Always aware of the tour members he walked at the perfect pace as he shared the history of the city but also of the people throughout history. What a beautiful city with an amazing history with sometimes a darker side. We left with a greater knowledge of Newcastle and of European history but even more so a wonderful memory that will last a lifetime. Thanks Alexander !!
