    What to Expect
Hop inside your comfortable, air-conditioned coach and leave central London on your West Country day trip.

As you travel west, hear fascinating information about the region from your guide. Don your state-your-art Vox headphones so you can hear every word of the commentary clearly.

After a roughly 2-hour drive, arrive in the ancient Wiltshire town of Salisbury, famous for its 750-year-old cathedral. This UNESCO-protected church boasts Britain’s tallest spire and houses the best-preserved copy of the Magna Carta – the 13th-century document that laid the foundations for English democracy.

Admire the cathedral’s interior and view the Magna Cart: one of the only four surviving originals. If your tour is between May and September, pause to see the original 14th-century turret clock — the world’s oldest working mechanical clock — in action. This intricate piece of machinery is now in the north aisle, and cathedral guides will demonstrate its striking mechanism and chime while sharing its remarkable history.

Afterward, enjoy free time to discover Salisbury’s charming streets and have lunch (own expense), before continuing to Salisbury Plain, the site of UNESCO-listed Stonehenge.

View this gigantic prehistoric stone circle, whose origins stretch back 4,500 years, and learn how it is now generally accepted it was a temple aligned to the sun. Ponder the mystery of how the stones were transported here, and enter the visitor center to explore the archaeological and virtual displays.

Next, travel to the city of Bath, lauded for its 18th-century architecture. Admire the sweeping terraces and architectural highlights such as Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge: all considered the finest examples of Georgian architecture in Britain.

Visit the Roman Baths, the city’s classical showpiece and world’s best-preserved Roman bath complex. Learn how the Romans built the baths over natural hot springs, and see the showpiece Great Bath, a colonnaded pool filled with steaming spa water.

Lastly, enjoy free time to stroll around Bath’s compact center, and then end your tour with a drop-off in central London.

My friend and I had a great day. We had decided to see a bit more of the U.K. and this was a brilliant start. Sacha D and Mark S (our host and driver) were great. Sacha was funny, nice and knowledgeable, offering historical information...More

Sacha was an entertainer and so incredibly knowledgeable. There wasn't a thing she didn't have information on! She was fun and informative. The tour had enough structure to feel guided and informed and enough flexibility and free time to feel independent. The PERFECT balance! And...More

Our guide Antony seemed knowledgeable however he kept telling us to meet at certain locations and then leaving people behind before the specified time. This was especially annoying at Stonehenge, but it was done at Bath too. Also, we did not go into the bath...More

Claudia was a fantastic tour guide providing history and other commentary of each attraction we saw during this tour. It was well worth the cost to see all three in one day, including afternoon tea. We had a wonderful time and would recommend Evan Evans...More

The driver and tour guide were excellent! Knowledgeable and polite. However the description in Viator misrepresented the tour. Seeing all the Roman structures in Bath was NOT included in the price. And STAY AWAY FROM THE TOWN OF BATH...it is a tourist trap!
