Overview
Taste where Toronto all began! Over 200 years ago, indigenous people would trade goods from canoes and fish for salmon on the shores of Lake Ontario, just behind where the market stands today. St. Lawrence Market has been around longer than Canada and the city of Toronto itself. In 2012, it was named best market in the world by National Geographic.
Highlights
  • Experience Toronto’s multicultural food scene all in one afternoon
  • Go with a guide: Sheer amount of eateries can be overwhelming alone
  • Hear little-known historical anecdotes you won’t find in guidebooks
  • See a world-renowned stained glass collection in Toronto’s oldest church
What to Expect
The tour begins in the morning at St. Lawrence Market. Fuel up for day with freshly-baked croissants and a hot drink from an independent coffee shop. Start the tour at Toronto’s oldest church, home to one of Canada’s most prized stained-glass collections. As you make your way through Old Town, your guide provides a historical overview of the city and points out landmarks you may not have recognized on your own. Circle back to St. Lawrence Market for an array of food samplings, including Jewish bagels, Ukrainian pierogies, and Indian candy. With over 100 vendors, the market can be overwhelming—let your guide navigate to the best stalls for you.

Chef Scott was great. History lesson and eating our faces off was a perfect combo. Recommended for anyone visiting to do this tour. Loved that it checked off the boxes for the both of us, interesting tidbits of historical ppl places and eats.
