Best activity I've done in a while
Sep 2021 • Couples
Me and my girlfriend (who was 13 weeks pregnant) went on the Whistler Via Ferrata on September 29 2021 and we had an amazing experience !!

The weather was terrible in Whistler it was pouring rain and we were hesitant to go ahead with the tour. We were not so sure if we would have fun soaking wet, or if we would be able to have a decent. But we decided to do it anyways, and good thing we did.

First of all our guide was the best !! He was calm, made us feel safe the whole way up and was cautious of making sure we were comfortable enjoying climbing up (thanks for the 4 extra pairs of gloves). He kept us informed all the way up about alpine climate, geology, avalanches, rock climbing...not a single boring moment.

We ended up doing the climb in somewhat of a snow storm, the rain from the town had turn into snow and it made our climb even more special. It felt like we were climbing Everest !!

Best activity I've done in a while ! Would recommend it in any weather or conditions. Ask for Corry to guide you up, he's amazing !

Amazing experience. Highly recommend!!
Amazing experience and I was really happy I chose to do this over ziplining. The views are incredible and you get the sense of "wow I did that" everytime you pass a little section you weren't sure you would be able to do. I felt safe and our guide Ollie was fantastic! For me walking to the mountain was tiring (I'm fairly fit but haven't done much exercise during the pandemic) but once you are climbing it's much easier. I'm afraid of heights so at some points you need to focus on taking the next step rather than looking down. There are some small sections where you will need to do some rock climbing which was really fun. The walk up the base of the mountain to get to the cable section is nerve wracking because you're not clipped onto anything. Make sure you are wearing good shoes. I only had my Vessis with me but it was fine. I highly recommend this tour!! Also the restaurant that they're associated with, Hunter Gather in Whistler was really good (I got chicken wings). I recommend going there afterwards.

Doing the Via Ferrata with the Mountain Skills Academy in Squamish was an amazing experience. It's something our grandkids will never forget. Our guide "JJ" was wonderful - a very skilled and personable leader. A unique and top-notch experience that we will do again. Highly recommended!

Incredible experience!
This tour was an incredible experience. One of my biggest fears is falling, our guide Ollie was extremely attentive and helped me feel confident. I ending up absolutely loving the climb and cannot wait to try another location. It was definitely worth it and I would highly recommend the tour to anyone looking for a unique experience in whistler.

Sea to sky / MSAA day trip
Aug 2021 • Family
We took our grandkids (girls 9 & 12) to go up the gondola and climb the via ferrata. An excellent days activity, Pre-purchased tickets and signed waivers. Passes were ready for pickup up and in less than 5 minutes were on away up. Gondolas seat about 6 so most carried only family units. Fabulous views up and down - didn't realize the top was much higher than the "Chief.' Facilities at the top were busy but efficient. Suspension bridge was very popular. Lots of hiking trails.
The Via Ferrata was excellent. Class K1. The girls loved it. Two older girls with us were a bit more hesitent. Corey our instructor was fantastic, informative, encouraging where neccessary, challenging at times and patient. Also did some rapelling and free climbing (roped). Corey stopped to take photos at the best spots and then emailed them to us.
All in all a great days activity. The girls would do it again in a flash.

Great guide & fun activity
Aug 2021
We've done Via Ferrata multiple times in Europe. Compared to that, this one was rather short but it was still very fun and I would definitely recommend it. The guide was knowledgeable about the area and took photos of everyone which is a nice memory.

Fun in the mountains!
Aug 2021
I'd been meaning to try this via ferrata for a few years, and I finally got around to it this summer. Sure am glad I did it! We had a good mix of people on the tour, ranging from a couple of young teens, to me in my mid-fifties. Our guide, Rob, was excellent; he was informative, helpful, and considerate to the varying needs of his clients. The experience is not cheap, but it very much worth the cost. If you're considering this trip, go ahead and do it - you won't regret it!

Summer adventure
Aug 2021
This excursion was an excellent adventure. It was a bit more than we bargained for in terms of conditioning, we were both fine but as my husband does not do any exercise it was strenuous for him. The extra 2 hour hike due to COVID shutting down the lift at the top (it is open on Fri-Sun. But not during the week) is what made it tiring for him. That being said we both enjoyed the experience. Even with the poor visibility that day the views are spectacular. The guide was very good, and knowledgeable about the flora and fauna as well as with the landscape mountains close by. I would highly recommend making sure you have a good meal beforehand as well as to bring a snack to eat at the top/end of the climb as you will burn a lot of calories. Our trip took 6 hours start to finish with the extra hiking. It was a good challenge for us old folks (mid and late fifties) and well worth the time and experience. Highly enjoyable and recommend.

The time of your life
Aug 2021
This tour was absolutely phenomenal. Ollie our tour guide was fantastic and knew a lot about the surrounding glaciers, the history and geology of the site and many other cool facts. My coworker was nervous but Ollie was very attentive and helped her every step of the way and she ended up having an amazing time too. Highly recommend checking out this tour if you're an adventurous person or if you're just looking for something new to do. If you're even thinking about doing it you HAVE to try it as you will have no regrets.
