    Stop: 3 hours - Admission included
    The best way to visit the Cañada de la Virgen is with an expert guide. Along the way, Albert will share his knowledge of cultures of the Bajio region, including the Otomi people and other Mesoamerican cultures. After visiting the Welcome Center, we will walk a total of approximately 3 kilometers (2 miles) together, taking the same path as the ancients. Albert will show you recent discoveries at the archaeological site and you’ll be able to climb to the top of the pyramid. Along the way, you will see the impressive landscapes as your mind goes on a journey. You will leave with a more thorough knowledge of this wonderful, historical site.

Consistently Awesome!
I have been on this tour led by Albert Coffee about 8 times. I often accompany friends who visit me in San Miguel.

I never tire listening to his information-packed guidance. There is no better way to spend a day in the countryside of San Miguel than with this tour led by Albert.

I learn something new each time I participate and am sure my most recent tour will not be the last.

Awesome gift idea!

Oh, and the taco lady at the end of the tour serves the best!

Albert was the real deal. Tour was a fun step into the past.

Albert was so well informed and was super personable. he was able to keep up an almost constant banter on the area, the peoples and the pyramid itself. My wife and i have toured many archaeological sites and we both felt this was the most informative and interesting tour. But believe the when they let you know don't think this is an easy stroll in the park. But it is a great walk on a well defined path, most actually paved in cobble stones. I really enjoyed the open banter between Albert and us and he was an open and fun person to spend a couple hours with. And they provided us with additional water because it is high desert and high altitude. Very fun

Excellent Pyramid Tour

We joined a group of a couple of dozen who left from San Miguel de Allende to see this site. Albert Coffee is a terrific guide--not only an archaeologist with deep insight about the pyramid and its history, but also practical and a great sense of humor. Note that it involves a lot of walking, perhaps a mile in and a mile back to the bus; there is a hill and the surface is sometimes rough. If you can do it, don't miss this opportunity!

Hands down the best pyramid tour I've done to date. Albert is super knowledgeable and has lots of passion for archeology. I learned so much! I loved that it was off the beaten track so to speak. Small groups. No vendors. Loved that we had to walk up the hill to the pyramid. Recommend!

Excellent guide to an interesting site.
What if you’ve been to many Mesoamerican indigenous ruins, or if this is your first time, please take this tour. We’ve been fortunate to explore several large and smaller indigenous ruins in Mesoamerica. What’s special about the tour is the guide. Coffee, communicates, clearly, with humor, and with knowledge. He was able to link this site with other sites and explain the relationships between them. Every site is special and distinctive and Coffee knew how to highlight this site.

Excellent excursion from San Miguel

Albert Coffee is an ideal guide - very knowledgeable and entertaining. The entire tour is well run and informative. The site is stunning, historic and spiritual. The absence of vendors and other commercial ventures nearby sets it apart from other archaeological sites such as Uxmal and Cichenitza. Highly recommend while you are in San Miguel.

Incredibly knowledgeable guides in Albert and Eric. First-rate experience at this "recently" discovered northernmost Meso American pyramid. Discounted rate for younger children but make sure they can walk. Ask to see the comic book on your way back!

So We’ll Worth the Time
Alberto was an excellent guide with an extraordinary abundance of knowledge about the pyramids, the excavation, the ancient history of the Aztecs and so many other tidbits to make the trek into the ruins well worth the trip. I would highly recommend this tour for everyone who visits SMA.
