Tour guide was a No Show
This was the most important part of our trip and was a complete bust. Got to the terminal early and waited for over an hour. A nice lady from another tour company called my tour company for me and my tour company said they didn’t have my reservation. I paid in advance and got regular reminders from trip advisor about the tour, even the day before and the day of so not sure missing a reservation could happen. I even got this request from trip advisor to leave a review. Avoid this excursion and tour company!! Unprofessional and apparently unorganized. Ruined our trip to Cozumel.

Great excursión meets Culture
We took this Cozumel trip to Tulum last week and we had an amazing time.

Tour guide was great, profesional and very knowledgeable, he sure helped us to understand some facts about the Mayan culture.

Lots of walking out in the Sun, so be prepared to do some exploration but all in all it was definitely a great trip to Tulum.

Totally recommended!

Amazing site & amazing tour guide
Mar 2020
I wasn’t sure my family and I were going to have enough time for this excursion since our cruise ship was only at Cozumel port from 8am-5:30pm. We did the 10am tour and got back to our ship at 5pm. Even with only a short time at Tulum it was worth it! The Tulum ruins were beautiful and the beach was breath taking. Our guide, Rodrigo, was outstanding! He provided so much knowledge and was very fun. I would highly recommend this excursion.

Beautiful site

There was a lot of tourists visiting this site at the time we went. I found this Mayan ruins to be very informative the way they were living back then. Our tour guide was telling us about the Mayan history and this Tulum site was for rich Mayan at the time.

Tulum with THE BEST guide!
Mar 2020
We absolutely loved Tulum and its history. Our guide, Rodrigo, was very informative and exciting to be around! He truly loves what he does. He was able to tell us the safe parts of Mexico and even offer us advice on the best Mexican restaurant in town! It was a joy to be on such an interesting excursion with such a fabulous guide. 10/10 recommend!

Come prepared to be fascinate!

We loved it. My husband and I were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary the day we saw the ruins. It is outstanding. The guide was so good and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone. I now have a greater respect and small understanding of the Mayan culture and can't wait to find out more. It was fascinating and so educational as well. The Mayans were so advanced their culture had written records on paper as well as a calendar hundreds of years before western civilization came up with one in the 1500's. So worth it!

Ruins with a view
Jan 2020
Our Sun and Fun tour guide, Angel, gave us quite a commentary about the Mayans. He grew up in the area and studied the Mayan in college and currently works with university professors on uncovering the ruins and researching their history. He was quite interesting and you may consider him "standing on his soapbox" giving lectures but he is passionate about the people. We stopped at a cultural center for about 45 minutes - inside we watched Mayans give a ceremonial dance then shopped in their large store. If you are looking for handmade items at a reasonable price - buy here - don't wait until you get to the shops by the ruins where the prices are about 3-4 x higher. Also, use the bathroom here. Arriving at the ruins, Angel pointed out the "honest" shops to go to. He gave an example of a couple who ate at a restaurant having a drink and tacos and they were charged over $100. He went back to the restaurant and argued with the owners who gave a little money back. Angel said these people are working to support their families and will buy something for $5 but charge $20. You can haggle if you want. There is a shop that has set prices which were reasonable. One of the family shops had an onyx piece for $65 that the cultural center (our first stop) charge $20 for. As you get off the bus there is a restaurant called Frosty's who sells food and alcohol. We bought a bottle of his vanilla liquer that his family makes. They also produce a chocolate liquer and a beer. Bottles of vanilla can be purchased here at a reasonable rate. The walk along a modern path to the ruins is easy and takes about 10 minutes. You can pay a small fee and take a ride to the entrance. The ruins are larger than we thought, out in the open, and the views from the cliffs to the water were so pretty. We did not go down the steps - there are a lot of them - to the water only because it was pretty choppy. Too bad because we had our suits on and were looking forward to it. Tulum is a place where the people came to pay taxes and more of a commerce area. Angel gave a good talk about the nobles and how they came to their downfall. About life in the community an their hard working ethics. Right outside the gate to the ruins is a restroom - although there are attendants there it is gross. No seats on the toilets, the sinks inside don't work, you have to go outside and the smell is nauseating. That's why you should use the cultural center restrooms! When we got back to the area of the ferries we wanted to walk 2 blocks to the upscale shopping mall to go to Pandora jewelry. Along the way we were stopped by several people trying to get us to buy home made items are go into the store. Keep walking. The mall area has chain stores and is nice on a closed off street. We just went to Pandora then back 2 blocks to the ferry. The ride over was pretty good - no rough waves or seasickness. From what we read that is a strong possibility. Tulum is only 1 hour from ferry and is well worth the visit. The Princess shore excursion said it is 9 hours but we figured out we were gone around 7 hours. Chichen Itza was our first choice but too far away to do on a cruise shore excursion. You would have to stay at an all inclusive resort and book a tour to really appreciate it.
