  • Comfortable transportation delivers you from your hotel to the mountain trail
  • See the Valley of Mexico and Popocatepetl volcano from another perspective

What to Expect
Your guide collects you first thing in the morning from your Mexico City hotel. You’ll travel by comfortable, air-conditioned mini-bus two hours east to Iztaccihuatl Volcano’s base. Break for breakfast before climbing over the Paso de Cortés to La Joya, where the trail starts at an elevation of 12,000 feet (3,700 meters). From there, the 3-hour hike takes you to between 13,800 to 15,800 feet (4,200-4,800 meters), depending on the abilities of those in your small group. At your stopping point, you’ll have time to rest, snap photos and admire the view of the Smoking Mountain next door, the active Popocatepetl volcano, as well as the expansive Valley of Mexico. You’ll descend back to the bus for your return trip to your Mexico City hotel, with a stop to allow hungry hikers to buy lunch from local vendors.

We were picked up at 6.20am from the Zona Rosa area of Mexico City. Then you drive to the Centro to meet the guides and pick up more people. We didn’t get on the road until about 7.20am So Gershen was our guide for this trip. He is in stellar shape and can climb this volcano

Hello! We're glad to know you had a wonderful time with us in the Volcano. Our guides are very professional and before of the Tour provide the security measures to climb the volcano. Is a begguners hiking but is very important that the customers be aware. However we will attend your opinion because the customers are very important for us. We hope you come back soon :) Regards, Amigo Group

This is a challenging hike for amateur/novice hikers. For context, I'm 35, reasonably fit, and walk/bike regularly. The elevation immediately kicked my ass. Parts of the hike are basically scrambling and in several places, it would be helpful to have a walking stick. The
