- The coastal resort of Puerto Vallarta might be best known for its beaches, but in-the-know travelers head to its picturesque Old Town for another reason: the food. On this walking tour led by a foodie, discover the area’s best places to eat and drink, from family-run eateries to traditional cocktail bars. Your tasting journey begins in Puerto Vallarta’s Old Town, where you’ll make the first of five different stops. Discover under-the-radar, authentic eateries as your guide explains the cultural and historical significance of the foods you sample. Taste a fresh fish taco paired with a cucumber-infused mezcal cocktail or a fiery jalapeño margarita. You’ll even learn how to make the perfect michelada cocktail with beer and fresh salsa. Finally, head to a beachside restaurant for dessert. Your guide will point out Puerto Vallarta’s must-see sights along the way, so first-time visitors will get the perfect primer.

Bernardo was our host for the tour. He was full of enthusiasm and great local knowledge. He also passed out bottles of water for everyone before we started which was a nice touch and useful. We had about a half dozen couples join on the trip.
Each location had its own signature dish and/or drink. All were excellent and each couple seemed to have their own favorites. Some were quite unique and we learned some history behind tequila and the qualities that make it up/better. We also learned the difference between mescal and tequila. All the staff at the different locals were very friendly as well.
The pace was quite nice. Long enough to enjoy our food and/or drink, but not long enough to get bored. We even stopped at the local churro stand for desert along the way back.

Fantastic tour in Zona Romantica.
Tons of food, you will not be hungry after the tour.
Exquisitely prepared dishes and cocktails and great information on the area and what we were consuming.
Our guide Christian was excellent and spoke perfect English.
All in all, I would highly recommend this tour. Very well worth the money.

Luis was a FANTASTIC guide; always mindful of the varying needs of the eight of us while keeping us moving along so we could finish timely for some of us to get back to the ship! All the food we tried was AMAZING and I learned SO MUCH about Mezcal (tequila to the uninitiated!) and sampled a few as well as tasting it in different cocktails. Luis even taught us how to PROPERLY sample the drink. Best thing we did on our Cruise, I'd do it again in a Heartbeat!

This was an incredibly fun way to explore the city and learn about its history. Luis was so fun, he took us to amazing places that we wouldn’t have otherwise tried, and taught us about tequila, mezcal, and others. I can’t recommend this enough!

We have a bachelorette party. It says max 10 adults, can we book two tours that will start around the same time? I believe we may have up to 16 guests maximum in May. Please advise.

Sorry I am not sure how close this is. The bus is safe. Taxis are safe and walking is safe.
My husband needs his wheelchair as walking distances is very difficult for him. Does the mixology able to accommodate us?

I don't think so. The first place was a 2 story.
The roads are cobblestone and hard for a person in a wheelchair
