It was really nice to go on the backroads and have a competent tour guide. The tour is very informative. I would do it again if given the opportunity again.

      Disappointed double decker experience
We took this tour thru Royal Caribbean while on wonder of the seas. Dont waste your money or time. Each stop was 15 minutes… basically long enough to get everyone off and on the bus. The narration on the bus is a recording thst must be hooked into gps…because we heard the same recording each time we passed an area….two and three times. The recordings highlighted things to do in the area…not really good for cruise passengers as we wouldn’t have extra time to do these things. The tour guide did not provide alot of narration. We were extremely dissatisfied with this tour. You are better off hopping in a taxi and going to a beach for the day…we will be doing that if we ever come back this way.

Save your money, not worth it!
I booked this excursion in hopes to see the beautiful island of St. Maarten. I don’t feel the tour was worth the money. We saw a lot of run down businesses and houses. Not to mention the stops were extremely short. It just all seemed dirty and not really something I’d look forward to doing on a vacation or bus tour. The bus we rode on for the tour was a double decker and we were told we could not change seats after we returned to the bus upon our first stop. Despite us getting on and off the bus several times. This severely limited people, now stuck on the lower deck. The windows that did not open are tinted on half of the bus and those windows remained closed, so pictures turned out awful, if you were able to get any at all. The pictures you did get, had reflections of yourself on them. The other half of the bus had open windows with plenty of opportunity to take beautiful pictures, when the opportunity did arise. Had I known there were assigned seats and closed tinted windows, I would’ve skipped this excursion altogether. Maybe our 21 year old, first day on the job tour guide had something to do with the tour (the Island Sightseeing Tour) being less than impressive, either way, I don’t recommend this excursion. Save your money for something much more memorable! (See attached picture with reflection)

Do not do double decker st marten
Not an impressive tour. Waste of time. Short stops with no time to sight see or shop. Basically enough time to go to washroom. I will not do this again. Next time it’s a beach so we at least have time to really check things out. On top of all this out tour guide was rude. I would also suggest that the company allows everyone to take advantage of riding on the top. Ours noted that we need to keep to the same seats so we didn’t even get to experience the top section. Way over priced for an unimpressive tour

      Avoid the double decker tour.
Three issues made this tour unenjoyable. First, we were stuck in traffic for 2 of 4 hours. Second, we had very short visits to a shopping village, Majo beach, a rum distillery, and a liquor store! The guide was very controlling and inflexible. When she said 15 minutes she meant it. We almost lost one of our passengers because he went to the bathroom. She talked more about her neighborhood than the island.

Great way to get an overview of the island.
This was a great way to see the island. Enjoyed learning about how the French and Dutch sides work together. Be aware though that, while the excursion is not strenuous, the walk from the ship to the bus is quite a distance.

      Don't waste your time.
Do not waste your day with this tour. You only get 20 minutes at each stop including Malo Beach - so hardly any time to snap a photo. Three of the stops were obviously selected because of kickbacks from vendors - at the stop at a market the guide directed us to a specific restaurant we "had to go to" (paid advertisement?) and during the rum distillery we were herded like cattle through and had to wait on the bus while the director ate the food she ordered from the restaurant. The last stop was at a cheese store within walking distance to the ship so we just aborted and walked back to the ship.

      Not worth it
Trip was horrible. Guide talked more about herself than she did about the island. You only get fifteen minutes at each stop. No time to do anything but snap a picture or two. You’re better off getting g a cab and exploring on your own.

      amazing views
The views were amazing. Denzel was our awesome driver and Ava was most informative. Topper's Distillery and the beach were highlights for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our time.

Whistle stop tour of St Martin
Whistle stop tour of St Martin on open top double decker bus with pre recording of commentary. Hit all the best locations including a stop for rum tasting and ice cream. Shame the bus doesn’t operate as hop on hop off, which would allow more time at stops, but appreciate logistics of this. As other reviewers have said down side was the 20 minutes at each stop which really isn’t long enough. Have to say that tour guide and driver, Dan were very helpful and friendly and overall I really enjoyed the trip

      Good experience need more time
It was great seeing the island of the four stops we had made, enjoyed the scenery and saw 1 plane land at Maho on the 9:30 bus, other stop were good- the whole time though they said 20mintues back on the bus but really give you more time then that-just wish it was more time per stop...when you here 20 Mins you gotta hurry up. The tour people do watch the tourists to make sure your on the bus...just would want more time per stop.

      Confused and disappointed.
We were helped onto the bus and asked for inside seating. The tour recording was a little repetitive. We were given ice water which was needed. I received emails from this vendor changing the time several times. Due to the time change from ship time it was confusing and stressful. The bus stop was very congested and overcrowded. We were allowed on the bus because we had our printed tickets. We were late leaving because 4 passengers didn’t show up. I thought that our time at the sites was very limited. I would have liked more time to visit and take pictures. Places were pointed out as good places for pictures but we just drove on by. The bus driver was a good safe driver! I wish that I could give a better rating but the stress of not knowing when or where the bus would meet us was upsetting. There were no signs posted. Overall a little disappointing.

      Good experience, good value
Booked the tour through the Royal Caribbean. Ava and Daniel were great as guide and driver. We went to several different places around St Maarten and the kids were able to find ice cream/gelato 3 times before lunch. Cheese at the shop was excellent, rum was tasty, and overall we got to see quite a bit of the island.

      Knowledgeable and interesting
Nice trip with Ava our guide (who was willing to answer any questions) along with giving us the history of the Island and Les our driver who was very cool. We had several stops for photos and Rum tasting.

      Great tour
This was a great tour in St. Maarten. Our guide, Vera, was the best and the bus driver, Oscar did an excellent job. We got to see both sides of the island- the Dutch side and French side. It was a sweltering day, and my wife made a genius move getting us seats on the lower deck of the bus instead of the upper deck where everyone wanted to go. As a result of her decision, we were spared some of the direct sunlight, heat, and wind the top deckers were exposed to and i think our views were just as good. The stops were great, and the only disappointment was if ewe had been 5 minutes earlier or later when we stopped at Maho Beach we would have been in position to experience a jet airliner landing at the St. Maaretens airport which is an experience. We did experience the jet wash of a jet plane takeoff and it was amazing. We don't drink, so the stop at the Rum Distillery was not for us, but we enjoyed the break and got some gelato at the stop.

Oct. 5, 2022 my husband and I just did this trip. Big AL was the driver went to the Cheese store very small store but the people where great bought some cheese and gifts. Next we road around the tiny city then went to the Rusty Parrot ship had a fx tour and videos of caption Jack tour was realy cute a new business up and coming had drinks after tour and then we came out side and Big AL the trolly train driver left without us and 2 other couple and 2 children. He didn't even account for how many people where still inside. Then I came out and tripped on a dip in the cement blocks and cut my knee and hurt my ribs. The owner was so gracious to give me first aid and ice for my ribs and took us 2 back to the port in his car. The owner called the troller train place to come back and pick up the rest of the families. Big AL got back before we left in the owners car and he never acknowledge that he left us there or that I was injured. He screwed him self out of a tip. Not a very good day for us. But to leave the family with childern was beyond excepable. I can't image there fear. 😢

We had Betty Boop as our tour guide! She was very personable and fun! There was ample time at each stop. Rum and cheese sample were worth it! There was time for more drinks and shopping. Great for family and friends. There were people with small children who also enjoyed the tour as well. Overall, well worth it! Both Betty Boop and our driver made sure we were safe and made it back on time.

The crew on the Trolly Train was very friendly. The process for getting picked up was a little confusing. They need to be more organized and give better instructions for where to be picked. Perhaps add some signage at the stop.
The ride around town was enjoyable. They driver and tour guide were fun and joked around with us. We saw several interesting places. Mostly, they take you through the shopping district. We made a stop at the Dutch cheese shop. Great cheese selection and ice cream!
Overall it was good experience. It is a good way to see some sites and not spend a lot of money.

Booked this excursion through Royal Caribbean. The guides were not personable and the trolley speaker system did not work. So basically, we just sat on a trolley and waited in traffic. Traffic congestion is out side their control but they could have tried to fix the speaker system or came into the trolley car as we waited to provide information about the island. Horrible experience, we ended up walking back to the boat for our next excursion.
