Our guide was extremely knowledgeable. He was like a textbook, surmising the history of Puerto Rico including the Flora, Fauna, native people, European explorers to modern day politics. The trek was maybe 15 minutes through the El Yunque rainforest, every now and then stopping to teach us about the foliage. There was 4 or 5 other tour groups. Our group was the only one required to wear life jackets even if you could swim. IMO 2 hours was a little too long to stay in this area as you can't go very far along the river. Id suggest changing it to 1.30 at most. There is a rope and a couple areas to jump from which is fun. Afterward you're driven to an outdoor strip mall with restaurants, bars, and some shopping. The beach is on the other side and we got lucky with calm water there. The beach isn't very clean and there are lots of ants but this was fine as we were in the water or in the bar the whole time. Other reviews said the restaurants took up to 2 hours to serve the food. We did not experience this. We ordered fish and chicken tacos which came out in 15 min but our order was wrong, we got shrimp and chicken. We didn't realize until we started eating as the shrimp was diced up and concealed with toppings.. Not a major deal but if you have an allergy, just be extra careful. We informed the waitress kindly and nothing was done. From the bill, it was clear she just put in the wrong order which was annoying bc the shrimp was more expensive than the fish.

We also did the bio bay tour so we had 4 hours at the beach until the next departure. The drive is about an hour to biobay , we got there about 615. Bring deet mosquito spray bc you will get eaten. We sprayed after getting off the bus and didn't get bit at all but the rest of the group was dancing and slapping themselves like crazy.

The ride out is tandem, thank goodness. We are pretty good shape but having 2 people oar, we could take turns here and there so one person could relax and really appreciate the environment which is a little spooky but beautiful. Its a 3 mile return which is just enough for a little work out. It was about 8ish by the time we reached our destination. Wear water shoes and don't bring your phone. One it will get wet. Two you cannot capture the bioilluminescence on a phone. Even though the sun was gone, there's still enough light pollution to make it difficult to see the BI without a tarp. There was 1 tarp for... 5 kayaks? We took turns using the tarp, maybe a couple minutes each to try it. You have to stick your hand in the water and agitate it with the tarp. Then you'll see what looks like small sparks from a sparkler. Very cool to see but definitely very subtle. Not sure was I was expecting exactly but I thought it would be more obvious and that the lake would light up as you moved the oars. It is very subtle. All in all we enjoyed the experience and would recommend for everyone to try this once if you love adventure, nature, and a little cardio. Fitness wise, I would say you should be able to jog a mile without stopping to enjoy this. Some people on the tours were struggling which held up the entire line of kayaks. All the tours leave and return about the same time so there was kayak traffic lol. At the end you'll get a snack bag of chips and a small bottle of water. Hope this helps!

Our guide Angel was awesome. The water hole was a blast, good cliff jumping, rope swing, and it was fun trying to touch the waterfall. The beach was beautiful, but we were there for 3 hours before being picked up for the bio bay. The bio bay was one of the coolest experiences ever. It is so magical. I just wish we could have stayed longer.

They next day I realized I left my water bottle in the van and called them, and they dropped it off at the hotel again for me. Huge thanks!

great trip, would be better if they gave some more upcountry information, like bring old sneakers for hike, its an easy 20 minute walk but you are walking in ankle deep mud at times, defiantly need sneakers or hiking shoes, but will never be clean again, also; there are no mosquitoes in rain forest and bug spray will kill the fish, but on the kayaking mosquito spray is a must ,must MUST, no joke, but all in all it was great

This was by far one of the coolest experiences I have ever had!! Angel was our guide/driver who picked us up. We met such amazing people on the tour in our group. The hike in El Yunque National Forest was breathtaking! Make sure you wear shoes you don't mind getting ruined because it is MUDDY! But that's the adventure in it. walk through the mud and feel the coolness on your feet! The trail was beautiful and it lead us to a spring like water area. There was rocks to sit on, and three different small cliffs to jump off of, one of which had a rope you could swing from. DO IT! After spending some time there we hiked back to the bus to drive to the beach. The landscape view of this beach is amazing. So many cute places to eat and drink. I suggest getting a quick bite then enjoy the beach rather than spend the whole time waiting for a table and service. After the beach the bus took us to kayaking location! This was something amazing. The tour guides know the route through the groves even in the pitch black of night. Once you get through the path you are under the beautiful night sky and experience the bioluminescent water. The tour guides were hilarious as well as knowledgeable about the bay.
This is a day long event I would suggest you to experience!! You will not regret it!

Ryan picked us up. He repeated what the website said as far as how much mudd and getting wet would take place. We got a cool explanation of different island attractions on the drive. Pit stop for some off the path snacks. Arrived at the rainforest, hiked it. It was muddy and fun! You rinse off in the river. We did the slide and 60 jump. Amazing! Then met back with the rest of the group to hike back out. Hoses at the end to rinse off with.

***please note the use of HIKE, it was what I would consider a muddy state park path. Also, some rock climbing stuff if you go up further. Embrace the mud. Be one with the rain forest. My husband and I wore our Chacos and were FINE. Know you and your abilities.

Dinner and beach at La Parilla!!! Yummy and nice views! Alex picked us up and was patient as I decided what not to take on the trip.

We were the only couple that when on to the bioluminescent part. We are kayakers, so no issues. There was a group of, well umm, not as experienced people and they did fine. This experience with the man, the myth, the legend Rafa, Mr. Beautiful, was 🔥fire 🔥 . One of those things you just need to experience.

I would/will travel with Ryan, Alex, and Mr. Beauty again!

Strenuous excursion! But very fun. The hiking was very muddy and slippery so dress accordingly. I love how our tour guide was able to document our experience into a beautiful video. Luquillo beach is a beautiful beach! However, do not sit down to eat (grab something quick). We spent the whole time at the beach waiting on our food (3 hours). Bio bay was a challenge for our first time kayakers. The tour guides were great though and made sure we weren’t left behind. Overall great experience!

Fantastic day - each part was amazing. The guides were great, especially Ryan who was really fun at the natural water side in the rain forest. Also I left my sunglasses in the van and when I called they looked for them, found them and brought them to my hotel.

The whole day was amazing. The rainforest tour was amazing and although the hike we took was exhausting it was so worth seeing the view from the top. The tour guide was very knowledge and there were minimal problems, although some comments were questionable. The very best part was the Bio Bay night kayaking. It was amazing and they even gave us a tarp to experience it even better. Despite my fears of kayaking in the dark, we all made it back safely and had an amazing time. Would do again.

Did both the rainforest and the kayaking tour - they were both amazing experiences! The guide for the rainforest was very knowledgeable and time was the only thing that stopped us from doing more. Afterwards, the bioluminescent bay was amazing - though it isn't exactly anything like the pictures on google so don't expect it to be that bright.

Overall, very good experience and highly recommend!
