Great Time at Monkey land and Zip Line Tour
Monkey Land and Zip line adventure was a real blast. We had a very knowledgeable tour guide, Baldomar. He provided a lot of information about the Island and the life of the DR people. Our Driver, Edison, kept us very safe on some challenging roads. The Zip line tour has 12 zip lines. All with double cables, so you felt very safe. Attendants were on every platform to make sure your were doing things safely. Monkey land was really fun. There were approx 30 monkey that followed the tour the entire time.

          A+ Excursion
We had an excellent time at Monkeyland and on the Buggy rides. PJ was incredible. He was engaging, funny and informative. All of our drivers and the entire staff were all very friendly. Glad we went.

          Best excursion there is
My girlfriend and I went to see the monkeys on our last day in Punta cana and it was a great way to end the trip. Our guide, young boy, was the best we had in all of our excursions. He was funny and informative and very kind to all the different tourists and was very good with the kids that were there. The tour around the plantation was super interesting and the coffee was unreal best I’ve ever had. The monkeys were super adorable and we got so many fun photos with them. The tour is a must if you’re staying in Punta cana

You get what you pay for with a lot extra.
Monkey island it self was a good experience, but that was only 20 minutes of the whole trip. The next 3 hours were driving to the excursion and back to the hotel, which it’s understandable. But there was about 2 hours of a sales pitch to buy products. Fine tell me your pitch but lord have mercy get on with it. It's hot and those that have small ones cant sit for 2 hours listening to something we had no intention to partake in. If i have to pay more to just go straight to the monkeys that would be great. No me compliques la vida.

Awesome tour with Amado & Gary!
Experienced Monkeyland and the Coffee/Cacao plantation with our tour guides Amado and Gary. Both tour guides were awesome, very nice and very informative as well as funny. We thoroughly enjoyed both plantation and monkeyland, who wouldn’t love having multiple squirrel monkeys climbing all over you?! There ended up being a huge storm towards the end of our excursion which caused a tree to fall in the middle of the road, thus we were literally stranded in a down pour in the middle of the jungle but Amado & Gary kept calm as well as our driver and after some time figured out an alternate route. I would 100000% return and ask for either guide as they kept us well informed & honestly very safe.

He made us feel very welcome and had such a wonderful mindset. He is so good at what he does! Also once in a lifetime views! So thankful for this day!

Very good excursion one to do definitely
beautiful Angel and the great driver Brian. Amazing tour guides / driver Very informative and funny. Down to earth and lovely very family oriented. Monkey land is an amazing experience and they take good care of the monkeys. The plantation is a little boring for children but as an adult we loved it. Very informative short and sweet. Prices are good for buying coffee etc etc. I would do this trip all over again with the same driver and tour guide xx

          Amazing day with Angel/nathan
Angel was our tour guide, Nathan was our driver! They were both amazing! Angel was so knowledgeable about the Dominican Republic! His English was awesome and a great sense of humor! Angel made this adventure unforgettable! I thought I was just going to see the Monkeys, but Angel made it a beautiful learning experience about the country! And the monkeys were crazy fun!

          Definitely a bucket list item
This excursion was amazing! From the ease of pickup at our resort through drop off back at the resort not one detail was missed. Our driver Manuel did an amazing job getting us safely through the city, highways, countryside and villages. Our guide Angel was a wealth of knowledge, humor, and helpfulness. The experience with the monkeys was out of this world fun. The education received at the plantation was insightful, informing, and with the samples, delicious. I highly recommend this company and excursion.

Go for the Monkeys! Return for the people!
We did the Monkeyland tour for the 2nd year in a row. This year we were guided by Angel and driven by Nathan. These gentlemen were outstanding! Angel had so much to share about Dominican life and culture it was amazing. He was funny and entertaining and also thoughtful and very genuine. Nathan was delightful and made us feel safe on the bus. The monkeys were just as we remembered….incredible! So much fun!

Love the monkeys, hate the food and transportation
The experiences themselves were great, loved the monkeys and zip line. There were two major problems. Lunch was a sad hot dog, a ravioli sized empanada and a couple pieces of fruit with no variety or taste. Then transportation was unnecessarily slow and inefficient. They were combining a bus to transport our activity with a dune buggy group, but they were an hour behind us, so we had no choice but to wait. After a long day of activities outside, the last thing you want is to stand around in the sun. I urge the owners to invest a little more in food and transportation to make sure the experience is positive from start to finish.

          Would definitely do this again.
Manny was an amazing tri-lingual guide! So impressed. You learn about the various crops (cacao, coffee, coconut), do some taste-testing and then--Monkeys! Monkeys everywhere. Took some amazing pics. I enjoyed every part. The drive up and back in the open-aired vehicle was quite impressive through the small villages and landscapes.

Monkeys are cute but it will be a long ride, and a sales session.
It was lovely to see squirrel monkeys, feed them and take photos with them. They were so adorable. I wanted to leave a 5 star rating but overall, it was average due to the following reasons. My complaints: 1) it took a long time to get to monkeyland. They picked up passengers from other hotels so it took over 2-2.5 hrs in the morning to get to monkeyland. We were picked up at 7:15 am and they dropped off some people going to another city. Then we went to other hotels to pick up other passengers. We did not leave the hotel area until around 8:20 am. We waited at one hotel for 20 minutes, so it may not be the company's fault but on our reservation email, the company had stated that if you were late they were going to leave, no refunds. I don't know why we waited. For the return trip, we left at around 12:10 pm and we got back at our hotel at 1:45 pm. It took over 1.5 hr. It was not enjoyable being on the bus for 3-4 hrs when you got to spend under 1 hr with the monkeys. People with young children, those with physical limitations, or the elderly may want to consider this before booking this excursion. This tour also required walking on steep hills and for most people should be okay but I saw some people struggling. 2) once we arrived at monkeyland at around 9:30 am, they had a demonstration about coffee beans, chocolates and coconuts, in a smoke-filled area. I did not enjoy breathing in the smoke exposing myself and my family to particle pollution from the wood burning cooking area. After that, at around 10:30 am, they moved us to another area for a sales session to sell you their goods such as coffee beans, coconut oil, and mama juana. Some people may enjoy trying the hot chocolate, coconut butter, and mama juana. Our tour guide spoke very convincingly about ‘sustainable tourism’ and helping the villagers directly, but I did not like spending a lot of time listening to the sales pitch instead of visiting monkeyland. 3) the monkey guide who provided visitors with bowls so that they can feed monkeys purposely did not give a bowl to my group. I am not sure if he was being a racist but it was mean and strange. After the first round of handing out food to monkeys, we noticed that we were the only group that did not get a bowl. The guide puts the food in the bowl so monkeys will come and eat and visitors can get their photos with monkeys. I told him we were missing the bowl. He said he was coming for another round but after the second round he still did not give us a bowl. My child kept asking for the bowl as well and I stood there looking at all other groups with bowls happily taking photos with the monkeys. Eventually, he gave us a bowl too. I don’t understand why he felt the need to do that. He said his name was Hamlet? I did not catch it. The company should ensure that its employees do not display racism and ignorance. It was surprising to see this type of behaviour at a popular tourist excursion in 2024. The company needs to provide better training to its employees.

Went on this excursion with hubby and absolutely loved it, right from pick our tour guide Ruddy was amazing! Welcomed every person on the bus with a little fun fact about the province/state/country each person came from. He was very knowledgeable about the little villages and gave us a ton of fun facts throughout our drive to monkey land. Once there the education continued as we learned about chocolate and coffee production and how it affects everyday life for locals. The homemade hot chocolate was amazing!!! Then we finally got to see the monkeys. These little guys are super adorable with the most breath taking backdrop! There were lots of opportunities to get your own photos of the monkeys but there was also professional photos taken. This was by far our absolute fav excursion in Punta Cana.

          Amazing adventure with Angel
This excursion exceeded our expectations and should not be missed! Our driver Manuel and our guide Angel were the amazing! Angel is so passionate about his country and educated us on the county and the culture. The tour and demonstration of the coffee and cocoa is hands-on and it will be the freshest most delicious coffee and hot chocolate that you will ever taste. The tour ends with the best part, which is hanging out and feeding the adorable monkeys. It's an unforgettable experience and we made such great memories that we'll have forever. Don't miss this!

The tour company decided to come and leave our resort earlier than expected and agreed. Called to check on us, but left anyway. Lied about how long driver waited. We’ve toured all over the world and never had this experience. No refund. No service. Next time I will reserve a private tour or arrange excursion through our resort to avoid this problem. We have a large group returning for a celebration and have close family with travel agency geared toward girls trips and family reunions. I was scouting tour companies during this event for both purposes and will promptly discard this company.

Amazing tour full of information and sights of the country and people of the Dominican Republic. Our tour guide Angel was very interesting to speak with. Lots of knowledge about information of the people and country. We fell very comfortable with Angel and spoke amazing clear English. His personal life story was so interesting to hear and when asked where I was from he was familiar with Canada Newfoundland slang. When we return to the Dominican we will do this tour again or similar and request Angel as the guide. The driver Robert provide a safe comfortable ride and was friendly and helpful when stopped at sites. They constantly supply cold bottles of ice water. This is a must do tour and make sure to ask for Angel for the true Dominican Republic experience of history, country and people

We booked this tour hoping to learn more about how the locals live, farm, eat etc. Angel did a wonderful job! He was patient with all our questions and enthusiastic about the tour. It was obvious he enjoyed what he does and that made the tour even more enjoyable for us. He also had a wide range of knowledge he shared with us and it was very nice to hear the love he has for this beautiful country! Very good job Angel! You are an awesome tour guide and Nathan was an excellent driver on those curvy hilly roads. Thankyou!
Also the meal was delicious too!

We really enjoyed our trip with Melo and Emilio. Yes, it may not all be completely authentic and exactly as the description of the trip but it is nice to get out of the resort area to see the urban city of Higuey and the more rural setting owned by the Runners group. We did learn a lot about the culture, the education system and how the locals live. We did see a man roll a cigar, and yes, there was a shop to purchase alcohol and cigars for cheaper than the hotel prices. You will get a free cigar to light, a sample of pineapple wine, Mamajuana and rum by the river. They will also give you bottled water. The vehicle is rough and there is no distancing or mandatory mask-wearing, if you are concerned about covid protocols. The cathedral in Higuay is amazing. The lunch at Maria's was 2 types of chicken, rice and macaroni salad. She serves pineapple and starfruit from her trees in the garden. You also sample fresh tea and hot cacao. You can purchase many natural cosmetic products here as well. You may want to take bug spray on this trip. We really loved our tour!

This by far was my favorite excursion while in the DR. The tour took us into the mountains where we can to see the Dominican country side. Our tour guides Darius and others provided us with the history of the country and the people. It was very informative. And as you traveled through the small villages and towns you got the true sense of how people lived and what it is to be Dominican. The sights like the Basilica were breath taking and its history. Watching cigars being made right in front of you and actually getting to smoke one was a real treat for me. Learning about the history of the sugar industry and enjoying sugar cane brought back childhood memories for me. And finally topping off the tour with an authentic Dominican lunch, had me going back for seconds, absolutely delicious. All in all the tour lasted about 6 hours. This is one I would highly recommend to take so you can get the real feel of the DR. Thanks for the amazing journey Darius!!

This excursion was the highlight of our trip. Our guide Manuel (Manny blah blah blah) and driver Hulbani were entertaining, knowledgeable, and helpful. The local family house they bring you to is obviously staged, but still gives the feel/idea of how a local countryside family may live. Lunch was delicious and even the pickier eaters in our group enjoyed it.

While the trip/tour was informative and Manny "Bla bla bla bal" (yes that's what he wanted us to call him) was very educated, but he repeated himself a lot. He did his best to make the time between location enjoyable The trip is listed as going to Macao Beach which it did not, this was a big disappointment as we wanted our daughter to see this very beautiful beach. The tour of Mary's place was super informative and the food was good. We have taken better "countryside" tours in the past, but COVID-19 could have closed these down. Over all it was a solid day.

Recommend 110%. Great tour guide, Angel who shared such a wealth of information and love of his country, and very helpful & smooth driver, Melo. Best tour to see the very interesting fabric of Dominican people & culture. Loved everything about this tour; learning about and sampling sugar cane, cigar rolling, coffee, chocolate, spices, and fruits. Seeing the mountainside, gorgeous landscape, farms, villages, city of Higuey & cathedral, delicious lunch and tour at Maria’s family farm, and ending at the picturesque Macao Beach. Everyone on our tour said they loved it, including the teens.

The tour guide, Emilio was absolutely amazing, he shared so much information about the culture and customs in the Dominican, really gave you the opportunity to learn. The meal at Maria's house was fabulous! The tours in the sugar cane, coca, coffee and cigar making areas were really neat.
