It was a great way to see Lugano and Bellagio which were both beautiful - was definitely helped that it was sunny so I’d recommend warmer months if possible. The tour bus was comfortable (air con/ a lot of seats) and the tour guides were really knowledgable and entertaining. Remember to buy a FFP2 mask (unless the regulations have since been relaxed) before you go which is needed for the boat parts of the trip and also check the visa requirements for getting into Switzerland (for most places a valid passport will do). Overall I’d definitely recommend seeing both places using this tour - it took any hassle out of getting there, we had a good amount of time in both places to explore and the guides were really helpful and gave recommendations for best areas to go and where to eat etc. Final shout out to Lorenzo (our bus driver) who navigated those tight roads and corners like an experienced formula one driver!

Claudia provide a wonderful tour of the areas around Lake Lugano and Lake Como areas. It was a hazy day out but still beautiful. We visited the towns of Lugano, Bellagio and Como include an hour+ tour of Lake Como from Bellagio to the town of Como. It was early in the season with many shops not yet open in early March in Bellagio, though still a very charming town where we had a good lunch. I would strongly recommend this tour though probably later in March with slightly warmer temperatures and clearer skies. Our guide was very knowledgable regarding major points in the towns and residents living along the lake.

Katherine and team took us on a day tour to Lake Como, Bellagio, and Lugano. We first met them at the train station where they gave us headsets for the tour. The tour bus picked us up and we started heading to Lugano as our first stop, then off to Bellagio, and Lake Como via Ferry. Each city we visited, we had enough time to tour. The tour bus was very comfortable and driving through the lakes was beautiful and scenic. Everything was handled in a professional manner and we all enjoyed this tour. We highly recommend this tour and it’s very well worth it. Thank you Katherine and team for giving us a memorable tour.

The worst travel experience we have ever had and we have travelled extensively. The small group of "less than 25" which we paid a higher price for was 63 people. They even turned away people who had booked and arrived at the departure point. They must haven taken money from 80+ people for this "small group" tour. Only 1/4 of people on the bus wore face masks even though it is still mandatory in Italy. Bellagio was horrific. We walked from restaurant to restaurant for 2 hours because they were all full. They tour company could have told you in advance what to expect so you could have pre booked lunch. There was nowhere to even buy fruit or sit. The "cruise" was a public ferry not a smaller private boat you would expect for the price and it was like an apocalyptic movie being shoved forward in the large criwd in the heat on to an oversold ferry for 2 hours where you couldn't see past the crowds to see Lake Como. Everyone on the trip complained about the misleading by the tour company. Best advice. Get a train to Como have a nice meal and then hire a water taxi to cruise Lake Como. Avoid Bellagio. It is not Capri. It is very chaotic. The Switzerland part of the trip was good except for the more than double people on the trip.

Dear JPEZ2013, Thank you for sharing your feedback on Trip Advisor. We are sincerely sorry to hear that the tour did not live up to your expectations. As it is the high season some stops on this tour could get really crowded due to their popularity. Like many companies in the travel industry, City Wonders faced an unprecedented post-pandemic surge in demand during the past few weeks. This combined with Covid-related impacts caused operational issues, which we are working around the clock to resolve as quickly as possible. Therefore, we are sorry if the group was much bigger. Please contact us directly at customer.service@citywonders.com to share more details with us ( your booking reference number and full name) so that we can further assist you in this matter. We wish you safe Travels Kindest Regards Chadia City Wonders

Complete false advertisement!! This tour advertises a small group of 25 or less, their were 60 people on our tour bus!! This was by no means a small private group. The 2-hour lake como water ride is a PUBLIC ferry that goes port to port , with 700 people on it!! It is not a nice “water cruise” like advertised on the page. The ferry was incredibly hot and muggy and made for a miserable ride. You could walk to the “open air” top of the boat , however every seat was full so you could not see the views of the lake. The boat ride was a waste of 2 hours.
The tour guide was amazing and I have to say that the views of Switzerland and Bellagio were amazing, however I would have never chosen this tour given the fact it was such a large amount of people.
For 115 dollars a person , we were transported from Milan , dropped off in Switzerland for 2 hours (on your own), dropped off in Bellagio for 3 hours (on your own) and then sat on a ferry for 2 hours. It was not worth the money at all.
Others on the tour were also disappointed as this was not what any of us signed up for.
I understand that a post covid surge could cause for slight overbooking, however this was completely advertised incorrectly and honestly deceitful.
If you’re looking for a small personable tour this is NOT the tour to book. We were highly disappointed as we chose this tour over others and felt like it was a waste of a day.

Scenery on trip was spectacular, tour guide was good.
€482 for 5 people (2 adults and 3 und 18) would seem to be nearly twice what it should be imo.
Clearly falsely advertised as tour had 60 people with 1 guide. In all its adverts online City wonders clearly says small groups of 25 or less. More than twice that on our bus with 1 guide.
I'm prepared for the standard answer from company saying that it is 25 per guide and two groups in a bus. There was never a mention of a second guide and in any reviews it looks like there is never 2 guides. Again, I'm prepared for the standard post-covid issues reply saying that they had planned 2 guides.

All reviews say the same thing and all the replies say the same thing. Sorry, not our normal service, 25 per group (nonsense). Content by email presumably for more nonsensical fake apologies.

This is obviously run by some really great people who are living life to the full on our overpriced falsely advertised bus trips.

Dear JutMac, Thanks for sharing your review. It is indeed due to the present and post pandemic situation that we have issues with our guides. They do take a Covid test regularly and when they result positive, we are sometimes unable to find another guide in such a short time. Every day all City Wonders staff is doing its very best in order to resolve last minute disruptions and operational issues. When we can not give a suitable alternative to some of our clients, it is disappoing for all City Wonders clients and employees because we know our company has always had high service standards. We do thank you for your understanding and wish to regain your trust in the nearest future. Best regards, Simona City Wonders

false advertising. They say a private tour of only 25 people which is a lie. We where in a group of 60+ people all stuffed onto a bus. They also lied about the “private” ferry. They put you in a ferry with 700 people they heard you in like a cattle, we felt like we where in a slam packed Travis Scott concert. You can’t see much from the ferry windows and to make things better there is no A/C in the ferry. All the ferry does is take you from port to port. I understand the company is undergoing a surge of people probably due to high season but stop the false advertising. We were completely disappointed with our experience especially because we paid extra for the “private” part of the tour. Do not book this tour during the high season because you will be disappointed. The switzerland part wasn’t bad but the Bellagio section was disappointing. They failed to mention how there are thousands and thousands of other people on the island with you and it takes you hours to try and find a spot to eat food or non the less sit down. It would’ve been helpful if they would’ve booked a place for us to eat or at least mentioned that you need to make reservation in advance granted that every single tour for our last 3 week trip has done that for us. The tour guide was very knowledgeable which gave this tour the 2 stars.

It was not a super hot day, thank God. That being said, bus air conditioner was not adequate. Both boat trips are NOT private. You have to wear an N95 MASK, I saw the boat employees turn away many people who had surgical masks. I also saw the same employees let on a young attractive woman with a tissue and no mask. The hour long public boat ride is like being in a greenhouse it is stifling hot... then add the masks. Terrible.
The guided portion of this tour was impossible to follow. The guide was no where to be seen so she may have been pointing but just saying villa on the left when there are 20+ villas didn't help. That and she spoke too fast.

Guide was ok. Not easily approachable, she was brusque. The walking portion was almost running not easy to keep up. Although her English was good her accent and speed of speech made it very hard to follow.

I loved both places Lugano and Bellagio and would revisit in a heartbeat.

Dear michgrip1964, Thanks for sharing your review. We are sorry that our tour didn't live up your rxpectations. In this tour we use a private bus from Milan and public boat for the lake, as explained on our own website and distributors. In Italy masks FPP2/N95 masks are still mandatory in public transportations and in some venues. I'm afraid we cannot be responsible for the boat staff behaviour but we will inform the boat management. We have also passed on your feedback to our Guide Management Team, and we can assure you that they will act on your advice to improve our tours going forward and to ensure that other customers do not encounter similar issues. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for taking the time to share your review. Best regards, Simona City Wonders

This was a really full day out. Our tour guide (Jo) was informative and managed to deal with a crisis when the scheduled boat down Lake Como was withdrawn from service due to mechanical failure. Somehow a new boat turned just for our group and we managed to complete the trip to Como. We had plenty of time in Lugano and Bellagio to get the feel of both places and to enjoy lakeside walks and the fantastic views. So glad that we went and it made a welcome break from our time in Milan city to be able to savour the lake and the mountain air.

Nothing was as stated in the description. The 2 hour cruise of Lake Como was actually a 5 min ferry ride to the other side of the lake. There were no shops open in Switzerland on Sunday. We were not forewarned. We were told there would be shops but not that they would be closed. The guide was awful. She gave us a 5 minute review in each location mainly to tell us the meeting point. So disappointed. What a wasted day of a short time visiting Milan.
