Located five miles northeast of downtown Birmingham, the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) is the busiest airport in Alabama. In 2014, about 2.6 million fliers arrived at and departed from the airport. American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, United Express and US Airways Express fly between BHM and destinations across the United States. Of these carriers, Southwest has the largest market share at the airport, which has two runways and one terminal with three concourses. Airport amenities include ATMs, restaurants, retail stores and free WIFI internet. The airport has a free cell phone waiting lot as well as hourly, daily and remote parking lots.
