One of two international airports serving the Tokyo metropolitan area, Tokyo International Airport (HND) is located about nine miles south of Tokyo Station. Also known as Haneda Airport, HND handled 72.8 million passengers in 2014, making it the second-busiest in Asia and the fourth-busiest in the world. Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Skymark Airlines, Air Do and Skynet Asia Airways use Tokyo International Airport as a hub. In total, about 35 carriers fly between HND and destinations in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and North America. Haneda Airport has four runways and three passenger terminals. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are the primary terminals and handle all domestic flights, while the International Terminal – which is connected to Terminals 1 and 2 via a free shuttle bus – handles all international flights.
