Great little airline that serves the north. You need to be used to flying in small aircraft with tight seating and little leg room. They will leave early if all passengers are at the airport. Most flights are under an hour. They also have good connections with Air Canada in Winnipeg. When flying to Red Lake and are coming in...

When flying to points in northwestern Ontario from Thunder Bay, Bearskin Airlines is truly your only option. The flight from Thunder Bay to Kenora usually involves two stops. Either Dryden and Fort Frances or Dryden and Sioux Lookout. The planes are turbo beach craft. You are assured a window and an aisle seat...smiles. The front seat near the door offers...

It’s certainly not Emirates, not even Air Canada, but it’s the only sensible way to get to Red Lake, even although it stops at Sioux Lookout en route. But at least it was on time. An interesting experience!

This past summer, I had to get to Thunder Bay from North Bat in a hurry for a funeral. A friend suggested Bearskin because they had a bereavement policy and this would probably be advantageous as my time was critical. Long story short....the price for the bereavement flight was MORE expensive than normal flight...I complained to everyone right up to...

About Bearskin Airlines
Bearskin Airlines (JV) is an Ontario-based airline that offers scheduled and charter flights. Founded in 1963, it operates from hubs at Sioux Lookout Airport (YXL) and Thunder Bay International Airport (YQT). Sudbury Airport (YSB) is also a focus city. Bearskin Airlines has flights between 12 Canadian cities – 11 in Ontario and one in Manitoba. Its fleet consists of 14 Fairchild Swearingen Metroliners, each of which carries 19 passengers. Travelers on Bearskin Airlines can earn frequent flier miles on Air Canada’s Aeroplan program.
