Le Point is a small charming and comfortable artist's house in the unspoilt village of Cucuron which lies inside the Luberon Nature Park in the Provence region of the south of France, 35Km north of Aix-en-Provence.

Cucuron has many original medieval features to explore and a traditional market on Tuesdays around the bassin (large carp pond) and square which is shaded by towering, 200-year-old plane trees. The village includes a cooperative wine cellar where local wines can be tasted and where a walking trail starts and you can discover the wine-growing activity around the area from a historical standpoint.

It is located half way between Avignon and Aix and makes an ideal base for exploring Provence or just to relax and unwind at any time of the year. There is riding or hiking from the village up into the Luberon and scenic lake swim...

Wonderful little hideaway in the storybook Provencal village of Cucuron. The previous reviewer described it perfectly...white washed stone walls and ceilings, challenging staircase and an adorable hand painted trompe l' oeil mini-bedroom. Roomy, fully functional kitchen/dining/living area upstairs, bedrooms downstairs. The kitchen has a wonderful little balcony with THE BEST view of the countryside. The owners are friendly and respond... more

The cottage was all we had hoped for. The photos give a good impression of it. The bottom floor is really interesting with a domed, whitewashed stone roof over the main bedroom which has one of the most comfortable and roomy beds we have ever experienced in a holiday rental. There is a small bedroom leading off the main one... more

My daughter and I were looking for a quiet village as a base for exploring the Luberon region and Cucuron was a perfect location. We loved the village; it is small enough to be fairly peaceful but still had most of what we needed. Every morning we had coffee by the small pond before starting our travels, excepts market day...

How to get there
Airport: Marseille: 60.0 km
Railway: Pertuis (or Aix en Provence TGV which is about 40min drive away): 12.0 km
Driving from Calais

Cucuron is around 650 miles from Calais and would be a 10 hour drive mainly on toll motorways. Driving in France is easy and the motorways have frequent and good quality service areas.

Train from London

You can travel via the fast Eurostar service to Aix's TGV station which is about 40 mins drive from Le Point. The train takes about six and a half hours from St Pancras and seems to cost from around £130 return per person

The Aix-en-Provence TGV station is a handy addition, because you now no longer have to travel from Paris to Marseille and then take another train back up to Aix. The Aix-en-Provence TGV station is about 10 km west of town. Shuttle buses (navettes) provide direct links to Aix-en-Provence center and to Marseille. There are also other buses, taxi...
