This well appointed log cabin can sleep up to 7 people and is well suited to families. There's just SO much to see and do in this beautiful part of Scotland.

The cabin is situated in a wonderful setting, right by a river in a small picturesque estate, a stroll from the beautiful highland village of Strathyre with shop, great pub and restaurants. The accommodation is over two floors with a comfortable lounge and dining area, open plan modern kitchen and shower room on the ground floor. We stayed here for a weekend in November 2015. It was a miserable weekend with heavy rain, but we felt all cosy and warm in front of the log fire in this great wee cabin. Spent a week here in October. Despite weather being temperamental, the cabin itself provided a wonderfully cosy base from which to explore the Trossachs. Perfectly situated for taking in and exploring the incredible scenery nearby, as well as spending an evening relaxing indoors. Loved it so much we've already booked for next year!

Nicely located by the river with the privacy of a small site but within 5 minutes walk of the village shop the cabin is equiped with everthing you could need for a holiday of this type although we only used it as a touring base clean and tidy with graet comunication from Karen from the start. more

The Cabin, whilst well appointed, with every mod con for your comfort, has a lovely rustic, alpine feel, with exposed beams and is of traditional log construction. The open plan layout offers:

Lounge: Log burner (logs supplied), twin sofas (one converts to a double bed), coffee table, satellite tv, dvd and ipod player. Library with guidebooks and information/maps for your stay, dvds, board games. Electric panel heater.

Dining Area: Oak/leather dining suite seats six (more if you borrow the garden furniture!). Panel heater.

Balvaig Log Cabin is generally let on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday. Outside peak season, long weekend breaks may be considered. Midweek breaks, four nights, are also considered. Arrival Time: 4pm (or by arrangement). Departure Time: 10am (or by arrangement). Pets are welcome (up to two pets per booking) with a charge of £15 per stay for each dog. 20% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a booking. The balance is payable four weeks prior to arrival. A refundable £100 'good housekeeping' security bond is payable with the balance. Payment can be made by cheque, bank transfer, credit card or through PayPal.

The cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow, with airports served by budget airlines Ryanair, Easyjet and Jet2, are just over an hour's drive from Strathyre.
