Wonderful stay
We booked this as our original plans had to be cancelled due to COVID-19. It was a fabulous house, big enough for us all with plenty of amenities. The kitchen was great although the Aga was difficult to cook on, only because we had never cooked on one before! The bedrooms were big and comfortable. It was wonderful to eat together in the big dining room as well as play card games/board games. The kids loved the space the garden gave and the hidden WW2 bunker. It was so close to the beach and we loved walking down at the end of the day to enjoy the sunset. Cardross is an excellent base to Loch Lomond and The Trossachs and there is so much to do in the local area. We would highly recommend this property for others to book.

Lovely large house with visiting hedgehog!
We stayed at Springvale with a large family group, including adults, children and dogs. The house was very well set up and equip for large groups. Nice big garden too. Watch out for the hedgehog that visits the garden - spotted twice during our stay which adults and children alike loved!

Fabulous family home !
This house was wonderful for our family group of 7 adults , 4 children under 6 and our dogs.Extremely spacious, full of character and perfect for a relaxed family holiday. There were so many rooms it was ideal for a large group..and quite possible to get lost !! The large garden was fenced in so was practical for our dogs. We visited the aquarium at loch lomond shores and also went trampolining on the loch, spent a day in Glasgow, a day at luss enjoying the beach there , and on the last day the intrepid youngsters climbed Ben Lomond while us grandparents entertained the kiddiwinks. Just wonderful. Have already passed the details onto a friend.Highly recommended.

Brillant
We stayed at Springvale for a week as family of 7 Adults and 3 Children. We were looking for somewhere close to Balloch as three of the Adults were doing the Great Scottish Swim and due to the timing of the swimming we decided to go back to the house between swims as the distance was not that far. We found that the house had everything we needed and there was plenty space. We enjoyed the conservatory in the morning and evening and the dinner room table was huge and we all had plenty of space when eating. The location was definitely was great not just for Balloch but also the train station and being so close to the sea. We would definitely recommend this house and we are already looking to see if we can go back next year.

Perfect for lots of people!
The house is huge and really comfortable. There is enough space for everyone to be together for meals and lots of places to be for some space to yourself. In better weather we would have made more use of the big garden and barbecue. Good kitchen facilities , plenty crockery and utensils for big groups. Good bt wi fi too, important for everyone these days with fire sticks and Alexas. Cardross is quiet, we had live in the Golf club as the one pub was closed following a fire. It re opens next week. Good bus and rail service and you are 15minutes drive from Loch Lomond. It was perfect for our family, and we recommend it.

Great location for large groups with children
Lovely big house, with plenty of space for large groups. Location was excellent with an easy walk into town and the train station via the banks of the Clyde, and lots of visitor attractions within a short drive. We went to Balloch aquarium, Balloch Castle country park, and a boat trip on the Loch. Glasgow is also only 35 minutes away with plenty to see and do. Geilston Garden just a mile or two down the road was well worth a visit too. We didn't have great weather while we were there, but had a great week and the children were never bored!

Excellent location and suited our needs
Enjoyed the easy access to Helensburgh and Dumbarton enjoyed the Ardardan Farm my grandchildren enjoyed petting the animals great place for afternoon tea or lunch also enjoyed the Cardross Inn which is a short walk from the house. There were 11 of us staying their 4 children and 7 adults we all had our own space. We loved the Conservatory and our grandchildren enjoyed playing in the Garden I even got used to cooking on the Aga. We were close to Loch Lomond Shores and The Duck Bay Marina. Having the two fridges worked well for us and Robin the handyman was excellent we had to call him twice and he was right there to help us figure things out. There were ample plates cups glasses for all of us. My only improvement recommendation would be oven gloves for the Aga I did however use a towel and they were in plentiful supply.

About the neighbourhood
Cardross has its own golf course, established 120 years ago, as well as a bowling, tennis and football club. Local attractions include Ardardan Estate Working Farm with a nursery and tea room and nearby Geilston Garden. Looked after by the National Trust for Scotland, Geilston is a delightful garden and is typical of the small country estates on the banks of the Clyde purchased by merchants and industrialists in the 18th and 19th centuries. Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park is very close - its just 6 miles to Balloch on the south shore of the loch. This beautiful area has so much to offer, both on and off the water. Easy access to Helensburgh, Cardross , Carrick and world famous Loch Lomond Golf Club.
Getting around
There are some really nice walks and you can leave directly from the house. Either along the beach path by the railway station or into the village. Go down to the Firth of Clyde Cardross beach and mudflats. At low tide with boots or wellingtons you can walk a long way out. There is an abundance of birdlife and now the shipyards are long gone the sea water is clean. Take the train (every 30 mins) into Glasgow or Edinburgh. Its usually pretty quiet and a nice journey. Take the train to Helensburgh which is a very Scottish Victorian town and explore the many charity shops or walk along the promenade. Take the car to the Gareloch or Balloch, which is by Loch Lomond. Tale a walk around village. People will acknowledge you as you walk by.
