There's quite a bit to do in Zurich, from window-shopping on the Bahnhofstrasse to sightseeing in Old Town.

Zurich may be one of the world's most expensive cities, but the good news is that there are still some free or inexpensive things to do here.

Zurich is a fairly formal, buttoned-down city, so finding truly "off-the-beaten track" attractions can be a challenge. However, there are a few non-standard tourist options available that promise an interesting time.

If you think of Zurich an immaculate city that runs like clockwork, you're mostly right. But Kries 4, the city's red-light district, has the artsy edginess of a Brooklyn or Berlin, and some of the city's best restaurants and nightlife (Don't worry! It's still Switzerland - the area is very clean and safe).

Switzerland is so tiny that a day trip from Zurich can put you in another country entirely -- like Lichtenstein! But you can also travel to a lake region, one of Europe's largest water parks, gorgeous waterfalls, or a city known for its museums, art and culture.
