Located on Mackey Street, the Dundas Center for the Performing Arts is the place for plays, musicals, concerts and ballets. It is an exceptional way to have a feel of the local cultural and social state of affairs because it periodically features series of plays written and performed by local and Bahamian artists. Diocesan Chorale, Lucayan Chorale, Chamber Singers and Nassau Operatic Society contribute to the offering in the performing arts. They are theater groups, dance troupes and choral companies based in Nassau local neighborhoods and communities and some church based.

These are some festivals that you don't want to miss:

- Great Bahamas Seafood and Heritage Festival. Located at Heritage Village, Arawak Cay, this October festival offer authentic Bahamian cuisine, traditional music and storytelling.

- One Bahamas Music and Heritage Festival. It is a three-day celebration of Bahamian culture in November. Schools, youth, sports, civic, church and community organizations take part in the festivities.

- New Year’s Parade. It features Junkanoo and takes place every January 1st on Bay Street. It starts at 1:00 am.

- Junkanoo June Heritage Festival. This festival features street dancing, craft demos, storytelling, native drinks and dishes and live performances by top Bahamian artists.
