The sedimentary levels visible in its colourful cliffs tell a story of the creation of the continent from ancient oceans to the current majesty of soaring stone and high desert. The 100-mile Waterpocket Fold that defines the park bursts with stone monoliths, canyons, buttes and cliffs. Orchards around Fruita also provide sweet treats for the hungry traveller.
