We had a great time at the resort. While diving there, we took an Advance Open Course. The dive masters are extremely professionnal and friendly. Thank you very much Marco! We just wished we could have extended our stay. One week is too short. Special thanks also to Sheena and Jessica at the restaurant, your kindness and your smiles were very much appreciated. We do intend to return.

Room tip: Room #24 and 25 have the best view and location.

My spouse and I just returned from a week at Bananarama.

When we arrived at the airport, there was no transportation arranged for us as per previous agreement. We were informed that we had neglected to inform them of arrival date/time; however, when I looked at I looked at my emails, I notice that they responded to an email that duly specified date and time -it was also the only time that a flight from Toronto arrived on the island -duh.

My spouse had a 'snorkel package' while I was diving. Unfortunately, there was no organized snorkelling from the resort nor were there any automatic connections offered for other local services. Being a newcomer to Roatan, this made it difficult for my spouse to find an enjoyable snorkelling experience.

There were at least two dive guides who surpassed my previous experience of the knowledge of locations and support for divers at various levels of comfort with the sport. They were friendly and perceptive. One guide gave me specific support in maximizing my buoyancy and was able to fine tune his instruction. THANKS. They were also able to accommodate with nitrox and excellent care of guests' dive gear at the Dive centre.

The food at the resort was limited but some of the dishes were excellent. Some were not; cold cereal with fruit don't make it at a resort and there was only limited choice at breakfast. Wait staff were friendly and very pleasant.

Overall, I would most certainly recommend the Dive Centre.

Room tip: The resort itself is densely packed into a small area and wherever one was, noise might be a problem for light sleepers. Rooms towards the back of the complex might be best. Some of the beachfront spaces might seem a little too busy and noisy for anyone over 25.

My husband and I spent a week the end of Jan 2012 at the Bananarama. We had a great time. The snorkeling and diving was the best I have experienced. The Dive Masters are expert and I must mention the boat captains too. Always helpful with gear; getting in and out of the water etc.......Our dives were varied and all had something different to offer. We ended up taking 7 dives. The food and service at the Thirsty Turtle is exellent. Everyone is so friendly and eager to please all the guests. They have fun activities in the evening if you want to participate and great live music! If you want great indoor dining the Vintage Pearl next door is exellent too. Rooms are modest; clean, and comfortable bed. We enjoyed the front porch as well and spent time readiing or playing cribbage there. Reosort is set up so friendly we took our cribbage board to lunch at times:)
We had a special treat on our way to the airport. We were invited by Carolina, one of our servers to her home for lunch. She and Jessica, another of our servers, prepared a wonderful lunch for us and another couple and their daughter. It was a great privilage to be invited and so fun to visit with the other couple, Carolina, her children and Jessica. Exellent lunch too!!
Thank you to all. We will be back!

If you're looking for the ultimate resort, on the top rated Beach in Roatan, Honduras.... Look no further! Book your vacation with Bananarama Beach and Dive Resort, This unique Caribbean Paradise offers it all and in a friendly, laid back, family run resort with everything you need on site! They have beautifully appointed rooms and cabanas, an open air Thatch style palapa bar and pub style restaurant called "The Thirsty Turtle" with a super fun staff and have recently added "Pizzarama", their own Brick-oven style pizzeria.... Food at both beach spots is very reasonably priced with large portions of all the local favorites and offer daily specials. They provide a varied venue of tropical style live music and the swimming, snorkeling and diving is stunning, just steps off of the deck... The resort also has a top notch, fine dining restaurant on site for an evening dinner that is sure to please: "The Vintage Pearl". Bananarama sits on a palm studded, white sand beach and offers it all at wonderful prices. It's definitely an "I'll be back" kind of place....... dig your toes in the sand, grab a tropical cocktail, dance, dive and meet new friends. You'll LOVE Bananarama!
