The all inclusive package and the friendly staff, not forgetting the white sandy beaches made my stay memorable!!! The experience at the SPA was heavenly and the ambience was okay. However, the locals at the beach are quite intrusive.

Room tip: The rooms near the beach are better as they are centrally located near all amenities.

In terms of location, landscape, gardening, rooms and facilities this place is one of the best I visited. Especially hotel beach with mangrove, palms, white sand and all possible blue colors of the sea leave you breathless for long moments. You can enjoy this view from both bars and restaurant and some rooms (buildings closer to the beach). There is a lot of beds available, both in sun and shadow spaces so you can enjoy it fully. Hotel beach is isolated with tiny stone wall from public part which limits 'salesmen' from bothering you if you don't like.
Rooms are spacey, well finished and well supplied. The only strange thing is way of separation between room and bathroom (openwork sliding doors) which might not be well received by everyone. Bathroom is big and there are two sinks which allows to avoid morning traffic jams :-)
Swimming pools are big, clean and you can even do swimming due to those being big/deep enough and usually empty.
In general service quality is very good but with one exception - delivering of drinks during lunch and dinner. This usually ended up with several minutes of waiting for waiter and next for drinks.
Fortunately food was very good, especially African evenings in main restaurant. Also bit limited in choice but still very tasty offer of indian and italian a'la carte restaurants which we enjoyed very much. We encountered no problems with finding table during meals but a'ls carte restaurants requires booking coule of days in advance.
Offer of drinks served in both bars was very good (20-30 options incl. non alcoh.) and service was better here than in restaurant.
Internet access offered by hotel was quite unreliable so I'd recommend purchasing local sim card (20000 for 1 week 1.5GB).

Overall great stay, leaved us with fantastic memories of this place.

Room tip: First floor, close to the sea if you like to enjoy the view but don't bother of strong noise from waves reaching the shore on some days.

We took our parents for a few nights to this resort. It was lovely. The food was great, the staff were friendly and helpful. We went for a massage at the SPA which was so relaxing. Overall a wonderful stay. The local people on the beach is a bit annoying andthem standing on the beach looking at everyone sunbathing makes you feel uneasy. But, I suppose that's Africa! Just some advice! If you book ask for the bottom rooms, they booked us into the rooms on the hill and it's quite a walk especially if you forgot something in your room and have to go back or you have two children to carry to the room after falling asleep at the restaurant!!!! But, overall a good stay.

Room tip: Ask for the bottom rooms. If they put you in the rooms on the hill, you either have a steep driveway to walk or 52 steps to climb (believe me, I counted them)

I'll start with the hotel so people interested in just that can see it first. Then the area around the hotel and finally some cool things my wife and I enjoyed about the island.

First the Hotel: AMAZING. Really if you find a problem with this hotel you'd find a problem with Any Hotel you go to. The drive in, grounds, pools and rooms are breathtaking. The entire hotel give you a tropical feel. If you like modern looking rooms and facilities then this wouldn't be for you. I assume most people going to Zanzibar are looking for a Tropical Paradise and Neptune Pwani Beach Resort Captures that. There are 3 different bars (one in the pool that you swim up to). The beach in front of the hotel and all the palm trees with coconuts are great (they collect coconuts every morning and serve them to the guests on the beach during the day).

Staff: Best I've ever seen. Extremely friendly, very helpful, kind and genuinely care about making your stay wonderful. We found the view of our room to be less than ideal but after a request to change and a little searching on our own the hotel staff found us the perfect room thanks to Nelson (Front Desk/Reception). Honestly such nice people, always smiling, saying hello or in Swahili - Jambo! They really appreciate tips (which might sound annoying to some but they work very hard in a very hot climate and deserve the feeling that they are appreciated). I always had about 10 - 20 dollars US in singles to give out throughout the day. Some were so happy and surprised to get tips that they remember us for the rest of our trip.

Food: Again amazing. The rotation and selection was great. We found favorites we'd come back to for dessert and breakfast but really you could eat something different everyday if you wanted to. We stayed 10 days and didn't get bored of anything there. Many say they don't serve Fish (the have something with fish every meal). Also there is a great italian and indian restaurant included in the all-inclusive package if you'd further like to mix up your meals for the day. The seafood restaurant isn't included but I highly recommend getting the MASSIVE Shrimp at least once. I had a birthday and they brought out a cake specially for me which was delicious and they made it for free.

Pool/Bars: They bring drinks to you just about anywhere you are in the hotel. Granted if you are on the beach you'll wait a little longer than if you are directly around one of the bars. The pools are so clean, warm and refreshing + they have views of the beautiful gardens.

Surrounding Area and the Island:

Beach Boys/Maasai: There are a group of local island people (beach boys) and Maasai from Tanzania that will offer different things (Trips, souvenirs, etc.). For a european they can come on a little strong but if you tell them you have everything you need and already set up all your trips they'll leave you be with a simple on thank you. The Maasai tend to be less pushy and also incredibly interesting to talk to if you get the chance. They are dressed in all read (easy to tell them apart). Daniel is nicest of all of them and will only ask once if you'd like to see his shop and hopes that you will come back some other time if you are ready. Daniel is also the most helpful (just ask for him by name or go to his shop - it has "Welcome to Daniel Shop" on a sign in front). He can get you pretty much anything you need. If you don't feel like paying the high prices for sunscreen, bug spray or essentials just ask him and he'll be happy to bring it to you while you relax on the beach.

Horseback Riding: There is a horseback riding place down the road (10 minutes) that will pick you up from the hotel and you can go for a number of different rides. Very cool experience if you are a somewhat good rider. If you never have ridden a horse before I would say its maybe not the best place to go simple because they just let you take the horse and go.

Cheetah Rock: They will also pick you up from your hotel and this is BY FAR the best thing to do on the island. The problem - they don't work directly with the hotels in the area so you might hear something bad about this Zoo (its more like an animal sanctuary). Check it out and think about going because its an amazing experience if you love animals.

Scuba Diving or Snorkeling: There are many places to go for this and I only went once (wish I would have went more times). The best place to snorkel is Mnemba Atoll. Its an island surrounded by coral reefs that is about 1 hour north of the hotel by car. Some places will arrange transportation to pick you up directly from your hotel which is great (email and ask).

Spice Tour: Everyone we talked to said this was an amazing trip (my wife and I wish we went). Look into it and see how you can get there because I've heard great things.

Stone Town: If you are interested in History or like cities Go here for sure. If you'd rather experience nature and the beach it is NOT a MUST SEE. Depends on you.

Prison Island: They have really old tortoise (180+ years) there. The island itself also has a nice beach and you can snorkel not to far from it too. Its an alright trip depending on how much you pay.

Rain Forest: Go See the Monkeys! The trip is alright but the highlight is the monkey's.

Room tip: Room Number 456, 467 are great... There are plenty more but I remember these had great views and were in a good location.

Neptune Pwani is a great choice for your Zanzibar vacation. However, just a little attention to detail could drastically improve their guests' experience.

The service is mostly wonderful. The majority of the staff are warm, friendly and tentive. That said, they're not without annoyances. For example, our maid took our old towels without replacing them. We noticed this only after we showered and had to wait for them to bring new towels. Also, they don't refresh your soap and water unless specifically asked.

Finally, the shower water is salty and sporadically warm, and the Wi-Fi at most places is either non existent (there's a network, but it's very hard to connect - tried with several devices) or incredibly slow. The front desk didn't seem to care when we asked about this.

Other than that, the resort is beautiful, the food is good, the all inclusive service is pampering, and the location is really nice. Recommended!
