we visisted the hotel laponia in ardvijaur xmas 2004 in search of santa my daughter then 9 had always wanted to visit santas home and see the reindeer so we searched the brochures eventually we decided to go with arctic adventures they were fantastic from start to finish we were met at the airport by the hotel driven through some fantastic scenery through the forest and were welcomed with a hot drink on arrival and then shown to our room which was well thought out they even had a taboggan in their for the kids once settled it was time for our evening meal which was 1st class the hotel had all the facilities to keep the girls amused they had a pool with sauna and massage facilities pool table tv room small gift shop etc the holiday was all inclusive we had a sled ride with the husky dogs a skidoo ride and the highlight certainly for the children was the visit to santas village where they did tabogganing cooked sausages over an open fire visited santas work shop and then the visit to the man him self on the last day we had free time to explore the gift shops where my youngest daughter bought her self a raindeer almost the size of herself also on the airline it was my daughters birthday and they all sang happy birthday to her and gave her the airlines mascot bear as a present its a holiday we will be doing again even though it was originally a one off holiday of a lifetime
