We went to Harlequin at St Lawrence Gap twice during our two week stay in Barbados.
This was the only retaurant that we went back to. It has a very good vairied menu.
The staff are very friendlythe service excellent and the food could not be faulted.
This was also good value for money for Barbados. Look forward to going back again.

“Exellent Evening Out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2009

HARLEQUIN (St-Lawrence Gap): Next door to the Rostrevor Hotel, right in the middle of the Gap. Fantastic fish dishes. We shared the smoked marlin salad then we had seared tuna and blackened flying fish, both to die for. Great service, good ambiance with the little white Christmas lights everywhere on the outdoor patio. Can’t comment on dessert we were too full!

“Decent meal, nothing to write home about.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2009

On our first full day in the Gap my wife and I decided to give Harlequin a try. We did a quick walk during the day and the restaurant looked pretty good. We walked up to the restaurant without a reservation and they were able to fit us in. They were a little hesitant, but figured they could fit us in before an 8:30 PM reservation. We thought this was a little odd, because half of the tables were empty, but we just went with it.

We were seated under the stars which was great until we had a few raindrops. They did wheel out an awning, but our table didn't quite make it under it and we had to shift it a little. We ordered an appetizer of seafood samosas. We didn't really realize that appetizers here are for one and only got two very small samosas. My wife had coconut shrimp and I had the kingfish creole. Both dishes were pretty good, but nothing special.

One thing of note is that there were two cats in the restaurant that were begging for food. Somewhat annoying, but my wife liked them. The pricing in the restaurant I'm sure is what you are used to, but over the whole trip we actually found this restaurant to be somewhere from the middle to the high end. Especially since some of the more expensive restaurants are participating in the gourmet card.

All in all we left full and satisfied, but didn't feel that the restaurant was anything special.

“Casual Dining in the Gap”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 August 2009

Harlequin restaurant is a decent place to stop in and grab a bite to eat in the Gap. The prices are average and so is the food (don't expect to be blown away by flavor, etc. and you won't be disappointed). Service was also decent compared to some of the restaurants we tried (we didn't have to wait 30 min+ for more water). One thing that does set Harlequin apart are the drinks... the bartender really knows how to mix up a great cocktail.. perhaps just grab a drink and then head somehwere else if you want something more memorable.. but if you aren't looking for fine dining and just want to walk around the gap, Harlequin will do..
