“Excellent hotel. Fantastic Holiday. Food & Drink Expensive”
We travelled as two families, made up of four adults and four children (aged 7, 6, 5 & 3) and stayed at this hotel from 24th July - 7th August 2009. The Hotel Club Siesta was clean, relatively modern and well run. The bedrooms were air conditioned, the pool was spotless and the staff were excellent. There was a wide variety of food at breakfast and dinner and at least two of the above mentioned adults returned almost half a stone heavier!
The hotel was half empty when we stayed, so there were always sun beds available round the pool and as is probably par for the course for Ibiza the weather was beautiful for the whole two weeks (I remember one day of cloud, but even that was a v. warm day).
There were countless activities going on round and in the pool, archery, darts, volleyball, pool competitions, table tennis, crazy golf (v. basic course) and the daily water polo game at 3.00pm. In the evening there were always games and quizzes run by Julia (who our kids adored and who also ran all the aforementioned daily activities). At 8.30pm there was the Crazy Kids Disco, which for the children was the hi-light of every day.
Santa Eulalia is 15 minutes walk away and provided cheaper food and drink than the hotel, together with a very nice beach.
The plus points were the hotel itself, were the very friendly and helpful staff and the excessive food on offer at meal times; all the guests when we stayed were nice people. The down points were the bedrooms could have been a bit bigger (but I am being a little picky here) and the only thing that would preclude me from returning is the price of food and drink at the snack bar, the bar itself, and the drink prices you had to pay for at dinner (drinks were free at breakfast). To give an example a small beer (half pint approx) was 2 Euros!! Despite the exchange rate being bad, I think the hotel's prices were double what they should have been. However, fall out of the front door of the hotel and there is a Spar directly opposite where a can of the same amount of beer can be bought for a quarter of the price. You weren't supposed to take food and drink round the pool... but no-one told us off, and we weren’t exactly concealing our beer cans or food.
My tip, eat as much as possible at breakfast and then you don’t need lunch.
One of the best holidays we have ever had and will definitely try to return next year.
