We spent three fabulous days in a cabana. Every morning Rita would bring a fresh fruit plate, a bread and cheese plate and fresh squeezed orange juice. The room comes with a refrigerator, a coffee pot and a small table and chairs. Both Greg and Rita were so helpful with information on the area and local customs. We love Hopkins and will stay with them when we go back!

Room tip: There are only 4 cabanas to choose from so book early!

A friend and I stayed in one of the oceanfront cabanas and it was paradise. I woke up every morning to do yoga on my own private beach. Rita knew exactly when my friend awoke and would bring us a wonderfully fresh assortment of fruits and breads. (Who would have known that a squeeze of lime on a papaya makes it even more succulent?) There was a fridge and coffeemaker in the room.

Both Greg and Rita were friendly and helpful. Alysha (part of the housekeeping staff) seemed to take special care of us during the concert of settlement day. What a wonderful time we had!
We both agreed Hopkins was the highlight of our trip.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hopkins Inn after a week at Caves Branch. We loved our oceanfront cabana! It's literally on the sand and steps from the water. The cabana is very clean and spacious. Rita's breakfasts are great and the coffee maker is in the room (whoo hooo).

Greg pointed us to a couple of restaurants and to a bar. (Thanks, Greg!). We loved every place that was recommended.

The price can't be beat and we are really happy that we chose to stay in Hopkins for our "beach" time in Belize.

My husband and I stayed in one of Rita and Greg's oceanfront cabanas and absolutely loved it. Right on the beach, spacious, clean, and a fantastic location in the village. The breakfasts were terrific--lots of fresh fruit and great bakery items--and Greg and Rita are great hosts!

We really loved Hopkins village and the Inn. Everyone you meet is friendly and welcoming. We had great meals (at Innie's, Yugadah's, Driftwood, and Barracuda) and enjoyed walking and biking around; and when it rained, we had a terrific excuse to hang out on our patio and read or watch the waves.

One note: Hopkins village, at least in low season, is pretty laid-back and quiet. It is much less developed than San Pedro, Caye Caulker, or Placencia. That was its charm, for us. There was definitely some "action" on the weekend, but for those who are looking for lots of choices in nightclubs/discos/late-night partying, Hopkins village may not the best choice (at least not in Sept/Oct).

Staying at the Hopkins Inn was like finding Paradise ! The village of Hopkins is colorful, clean, small, everything that my husband and I wanted after 4 days of activities in the Cayo district. We showed up at around noon and our oceanview cottage was ready, right on the sand, with an unobstructed view of the sea from our verandah, and a walk of about 10 feet from our front door to a lukewarm ocean water! Placencia beach has a lot of algea in the water which makes it a little unpleasant to swim in,not so in Hopkins! The sand is white and as you enter the warm water, you keep walking on sand with no big drops, no rocks, no algea, just sand and water!I looked at my husband and declared "this is Paradise!"Rita brought us breakfast the next morning on our verandah, toast, fruit, and pastries ( the cabana has a coffee pot in it with coffee, so we could have as much as we wanted and as early as we wanted), and we just shared our time between reading, swimming, eating ( we did go the Jaguar reserve) and talking to people; there are several supermarkets in the village, and the cabana having a fridge, we bought water and beer, very handy. The cabana itself is very clean and very tasteful, good size and the bed is comfortable, good job Greg!Hopkins is a delightful village but you do need a car,I don't know if the bus goes there and the road is unpaved.
